Once Upon a Time in... Hollywood (2019)
Didn't get it the 1st time
Didn't understand the humor of the movie that led into the shocking violence at the end. Then realized, anyone would have wanted to see those things done to the Manson family murderers that night to save Sharon Tate and the others. The 2nd time I watched it, the voice of Sharon coming thru the speaker, "Is everyone alright?" nearly broke my heart. I thought, ohh, if only everyone had been alright! Her, the baby, her friends...I did not think of this as a comedy, not sure why it was labeled as such. Anything pointing to the Mason family horror, anything showing Sharon Tate on the screen in any form...couldn't lay "comedy" on it at all.
A Quiet Place (2018)
SO DEPRESSING, WILL NEVER WATCH AGAIN
OMG. How depressing. I wonder why the family didn't all pop a pill and just do themselves in. And when the father dies at the end...is there really another movie based on the same thing and family?
Warrior (2019)
Totally different, who puts this show together?!
Every actor is outstanding in his or her role. There is not one who misses a beat, an expression; they all fit their roles so superbly. The music is weird as hell, it's eclectic and nothing like I've heard; it's modern whereas the show takes place long ago - all of it combined just makes the most amazing presentation. Started watching it one day and had watched every episode so far before we knew it. Cool as hell!
Mayans M.C. (2018)
It was okay, now it's good, and getting better
Did not think it was good at first. Just okay. As time went on things seemed to gel. Getting to know the characters helped. It's funny at times, and I honestly hope it's not as outrightly violent as SONS could be, because it just isn't necessary. The dudes don't hurt, of course.
