Day Shift (2022)
Actually a feel good movie!
Jamie Foxx, Snoop and Dave Franco. What can possibly go wrong? Nothing! This movie is fun to watch, doesn't become a pardody (thank God), and has a few good fighting scenes in it. Likeable characters, great music, a refreshing vampire movie. It has you hooked until the end. I like it, it doesn't take itself to serious but serious enough.
The storyline is a bit thin, true. Nothing special there, but the acting and action scenes make up for that. No cringing dialogues, good acting and very entertaining.
Old school music always does the trick, it fits the movie just fine. No heavy stuff like main characters losing their lives or having life altering epiphanies, no need for those.
Antebellum (2020)
Great movie, surprising twist with a current theme
This film was surprising and disturbing at the same time. I wonder how such a great movie gets such bad reviews. Perhaps because it is presented as a horror film. It's absolutely not a horror movie. This name does not do this film justice. It lingers long after you've seen it. It's a real shame that he went under the radar like that.
Killer Inside: The Mind of Aaron Hernandez (2020)
Sensationalized to say the least
This is an over the top documentary in which everyone seems so naive about the fact that a football player couldn't possibly be a murderer. Hernandez was obviously a very troubled person, it's not hard to see. All of this could've been put in one episodes, discarting all the unnecessary chit chat.
Dream House (2011)
Intense movie, well thought out.
Good casting, good acting and a good story that play's out well. Don't really understand why it's scores only a six one IMDB but I gave it an eight. Well done.
Amityville Playhouse (2015)
Horrible...
Half an hour in I couldn't take it anymore. I was curious about this movie and gfave it a shot but the acting is so terrible. The dialogues are terrible and why do people who can't stand each other decided to hang out in a deserted theater. No sorry, just couldn't bring myself to sit this one out.
An American Werewolf in Paris (1997)
Quite enjoyable.
Luckily the makers of this movie went with a different point of view altogether. Genuinely funny although the end could have been a bit better. Don't judge this movie to harshly. It's not to be compared with its predecessor but why should you. Quite enjoyable.
Hungerford (2014)
Very good movie considering the budget.
The Blair Witch meets Shaun of the dead meets low budget movie. Good acting and storyline. Very refreshing after all those Hollywood blockbusters. I hope they'll consider a part II. Well done!
Insidious: Chapter 3 (2015)
Very disappointing
After the first two movies I had very high expectations. Unfortunately this turned out to be just another scary movie with no depth what so ever.
The first two movies had a high level of suspense and were really eerie to say the least. The effect of different dimensions and traveling between these dimensions was very well done.
Unfortunately I missed the suspense in this chapter 3. Yes, there is a real difference between suspense and a to many startling effects.
One positive note. You get some prequel insight on some things. Nice, but not enough to save the movie.
