Harlots (2017)
brilliant writing....absolutely delicious
I watched this first season 3 times so far. It's so good! The actors & actresses are actually good-looking (sorry but this is sometimes a big factor for me when I watch british shows). And the acting is great. The music is not genre-direct but still works well. The show is created a bit edgy, which I like. The best part for me is the writing! The writing is just amazing. The writer really knows how to illustrate both sleazy & holy, with varying degrees of comedy & wholeheartedness. Honestly, this is the closest I have ever heard of in a show where the writing and acting mimics the older generation of my female relatives when they talk amongst their own gender in a sexual-direct comedy form but, of course, this is boosted sexually 10xs. (I am not american-born, by the way- I am afghan born, uzbek ancestry, american raised) Great job, all you guys!
Manhunt (2017)
Get's better with each episode
Keep on keeping on. Trust me, it gets better.
This show does a great job displaying two fundamentally important things: 1. illustrating, on a profound level, who the Unabomber is &
2. introducing the man who was the driving heart in the investigation and, with full determination, who knew full well the correct direction with which to approach and solve the case
The first few episodes, I was not totally sold & still had some reservations about why the rating for this show was so high. But the show continued to get better & better dramatically so. I fully enjoyed watching this show & even went through a plethora of emotions. Well done. Bravo. Good job.
Prey (2017)
simply awesome
Almost perfect video game. This is a great game for getting scared. Really good horror. I originally played the demo on ps4 & it was so scary. Then did the entire game, with start do-over. It was tons of fun. The only reason I opted for 9 stars is because I felt like the game became too repetitive towards the end and I basically got bored & wanted to finish it quickly. Repetitive meaning especially in regards to creatures -- there were no more new horror creatures to explore! -- which was sad because I was thoroughly enjoying myself. The storyline is great, no complaints there.
Interstellar (2014)
best space movie ever
This has been the best space movie I have EVER seen. The biggest complaint I get from people is that they "don't get it" after watching it once. Well, I says, watch it again! The music is amazing. I am in a master's program for film in music (at the moment) and I feel like this is the most popular movie students like to write a paper on right now, meaning it is all the rave. I have amazing (sorry for the lack in modesty) focus and understanding of movie story lines and plots so I was able to watch this the first time & I was like OMG OMG OMG this movie is AMAZING!!! The plot and writing is PURE GENIUS. It will blow your mind. It's almost like I feel as though I am in a higher awareness or consciousness after watching this movie. OK, need to calm down but seriously fantastic movie. So far, definitely my favorite space movie of all time.
Cinderella (2015)
Disney got it wrong
I was barely able to watch the whole movie from start to finish. I found myself huffing & sighing through a lot of it. I really just wanted a nice simple classic remake of Cinderella. This was complicated. Cinderella was ugly. Her makeup was ghastly. Her dress had these cheesy butterflies on it, like why? People had weird English accents but then there were some black people around & an exotic princess at the ball who wanted the princes' attention -- I mean, what planet & century are we in? There was way too much death everywhere. Despite her obsession about kindness & courage, she barely displayed courage & she was most definitely not kind at the end. The writing was a put-off, just sadly elementary. Then there was the out-of-place secret garden -- Did I accidentally stumble into the wrong book? What just happened? While she was dancing, there was way too much moaning. Honestly, I think they should have titled this "Cinderella's Secret.... Garden".
