Fear the Walking Dead: Another Day in the Diamond (2018)
Tired writing
I'm just so tired of these shows that have the bad people roll up on the good ones in a fortified place and pitch a chair or just stand out in the open and threaten the people inside the walls. Have 4 of the people with rifles shoot the leader then about 5 others that are just hanging out in the area and I bet they'd leave!!! Seriously ridiculous when they write crap like this. The head guy even rattled off their arms from inside and it's more than enough to give those idiots pause. I CAN'T, I just can't. Oh Lord please have a decent apocalyptic show that has some sense of reason Jesus! People that rated this episode so high are deluded.
Fear the Walking Dead: Eye of the Beholder (2017)
Separated AGAIN
How many times can these people get separated back to back. It's just crazy how the writers seem to not be able to insert any drama except that of a separated family trying to get back to each other. It's utterly ridiculous. The episode as a whole with the Madison spoon incident was amusing so at least that was entertaining. Pretty good laugh from that. But honestly I loved TWD and decided to watch this thinking the writing might be alright. Can't even describe how disappointing this is. SO many things they could do with the beginning of the apocalypse and they're just wasting it. It's a real shame.
Fear the Walking Dead: Captive (2016)
Trying
Trying, trying, trying. I'm trying REALLY HARD to get into this show and the kids are totally ruining it for me. And it's not just simple as they young and this is an unreal situation for them or anything like that. The writers are writing them like there all 8 year olds. NO common sense whatsoever and the decision making they're showing is that of small children. Now some of the adults, mainly Madison, are driving me crazy, but the kids are killing it for me. I thought it started out pretty decent, but I was really feeling anything for the characters, but that's ok. It just started right. So now I'm totally hoping the writers improve on some the the nonsense and get it to the state where TWD was.
Hannibal: Hassun (2014)
Shake my head
I truly enjoy this series. It deviates way off from the movies, but throws some little things in here and there that get a fans attention. So thumbs up for that. It's definitely an interesting and well acted take on Hannibal mythos. But these last few episodes of the trial have me questions some of the writing. A huge hole that bothers me is the statement that Will and his neurologist faked the encephalitis diagnoses to explain his murderous deeds. But when he WAS hospitalized and TREATED for the exact diagnosis they say was being faked, by a real life neurologist to that was still alive and didn't know Will previously, they still say the whole thing was made up. They say it repeatedly. Now there's some other things in the trial that are ridiculous, but this one is glaring considering the original defense they chose. With that said I do enjoy the show. Just not the last few episodes.
The Walking Dead: Faith (2022)
Backslide
This season has been off and on for me. The departure from the comic not withstanding I have enjoyed some aspects. But the trial scenes were ridiculous. Not in depth and didn't really seem to do much for the characters. The whole thing seemed just boring. We knew he'd be found guilty and that the process would be a joke, but the testimony only coming from a single person was dumb. It's not like they didn't let the defense have anyone speak. Obviously the public was in Eugene's corner, but they also didn't even address they fact that the governors son was trying to kill Max by feeding her to a walker and Eugene stepped in. Such a small point that should've been addressed in court. And what was about the tape not being her son and it was "altered". Seriously. Yumiko kind of addressed it but didn't even push the point that even though that have a lot of creature comforts there does anyone believe they had the ability to alter a recoded voice. That felt like a stretch for me and I feel let down this season with a lot of episodes but I get that it needs to end and stay with it because I'm a fan. Hopefully the last few episodes will at least be entertaining.
The Walking Dead: On the Inside (2021)
YES
I don't get to do this often and I was excited to give this episode an elevated rating. This is the first 10 star rating I've ever given anything I've watch. FANTASTIC episode. Who ever wrote this should've been writing the show the whole time. The scenes with the Reapers were pretty decent as well but the house with Connie and Virgil was amazing. Loved it. Suspenseful, well scored, well acted and very well directed. Creepy as hell with great emotion. They really should give Lauren Ridloff and Oscar for this episode. It was well above an Emmy performance. She was electric and truly believable in this role.
The Walking Dead: Look at the Flowers (2020)
Still underrating the viewers intelligence
Again the writers consider us in the lower half of the IQ spectrum. So just one glaring thing I didn't have patience for was the whole Alpha head on a stick. Ok Negan takes the head and Carol puts it on a stick. Carol promised Negan they'd go back and make him a hero. She refuses and needs time to herself and isn't going back right now. Negan is upset and wants his name cleared but doesn't just pull the head off the spike and go on his own?!?! Come on!!! At least the writers could've had he and Carol walk away discussing the deal they had and when he finds out she is going back on her word he decides to go back for the head. But when arriving at the spike it's too late because the whole scene with Beta finding the head has already played out and the head is gone. Problem solved very easily. Dumb ass writing again.
The Walking Dead: Morning Star (2020)
Not sure about the 10 ratings
I see how some will give this episode a 10. But it seems like all the writing may have gone into the battle and been left out of the remaining parts. The writers STILL think the audience are idiots and write to prove it. There's a lot of self righteous attitudes about Thora's character coming from an ex-Savior and a person that tried to kill Maggie and NO ONE points this out right away when they have issues with her seeing her nephew or even tell these assholes that she saved the lives of Rosita and Judith. Come on writers!!! At least throw a little bit of common sense in there somewhere for us smart viewers. Thanks!
Underworld: Evolution (2006)
Good follow, but some questions
I enjoyed the film and thought is was a good follow up to the original. I enjoyed the revealing history as much as the action. Of course it has its bad moments like any other sequel, but all in all well done. BUT I do have a simple question. Unless I missed something entirely I don't understand how Marcus was the first vampire, but was completely subservient to Viktor. If you are the first/original then you either made the others or the others were made by someone you turned. Wouldn't that make Marcus the "leader" of the coven and subsequently all vampires? Still haven't figured that one out. Maybe someone can educate me.
Sons of Anarchy: Widening Gyre (2010)
Gemma???
Rewatching the series again and I'm having a hard time with Gemma now. She's the worst! This last instance involving her turning herself in and the hospital is making me wish someone would just finish her off. Example... her getting emotional and physically ill when she finds out that John had a child with the girl from Belfast is soooo ridiculous considering she was involved in her husbands death. Totally horrible writing unless they just full on have her committed for a mental imbalance. I'm not sure why I didn't notice a lot of this my first time through but now it's making it hard to keep watching. This includes so many dumbass decisions that a lot of the cast make. God help me.
Supernatural: First Blood (2017)
Finally!!
This is a fantastic episode; 10/10 stars if only for the fact that someone finally sticks a blade through Billie and kills her!!!! Bravo and thank God!!! Terrible terrible character.
The Flash: Godspeed (2019)
Questions answered, but wow
Nora coming into the picture was a good idea, but the writing of her character is ridiculous. She's supposedly in her mid late twenties and a CSI professional, but acts like a 7th grade teenager throughout all the episodes. It's a little draining trying to keep up with the childish thinking and actions that she does throughout the series. Please God please fix her.
Rizzoli & Isles: Phoenix Rising (2014)
I can't!!!
Love this show, but Momma Rizzoli has got to go. Her character was funny for the first 2 seasons, but the writers have taken her off the deep end. This episode for example... hiding Jane's letter from the department stating she can return to work. This along with all the other insane things she has done over the past few seasons. She's making this great show hard to stomach sometimes. Not sure why the writers feel that having her be so blatantly disrespectful, childish, spiteful and have a complete disregard for the wishes of the kids. Just ridiculous to watch. Hope they lessen it some. It's too good of a show to let it be ruined by a singular character.
The Walking Dead: The Storm (2019)
Must be something in the water.
So for the scenes at Alexandria where they are trying to keep warm in the houses with chimneys... You'd assume with winter fast approaching these very capable survivors that have created some amazing machines etc in the community would have the forethought to prepare the chimneys in all the houses for the up coming weather. BUT low and behold that's not the case. The starting scene shows them in a house that has a blocked chimney and no way to warm them. Unbelievable for these tough as nails, very smart people. So obviously TWD writers again make a situation for the viewers and assume we would be ok with a scenario even though it's total bs. Thanks writing team for continuing to ruin the hard work you put into other episodes. SMH.
The Walking Dead: The Next World (2016)
Fun episode
This episode was a fun departure from the hand wringing episodes that the walking dead usually delivers to us after such a dark previous episode. The team up of Rick and Daryl on a run can't miss. They get lucky enough to find a delivery truck full of the food and various items that they were in searching for right off the bat. BUT are unusually stupid in the fact that they don't just drive it immediately back to the settlement to preserve everything they found and end up chasing around Jesus in a field with the damn truck and lose it in a pond. How frickin ridiculous is the writing for that segment?! Still with the exception of those few scenes the episode is solid, but gets a 7 because of the truck.
The Librarians: And the Trial of the One (2018)
Really?
Enough with Cassandra. The whole thing is getting outta control with her.
