Bros (2022)
Of course people will dislike this film
Why is it that mostly every gay person who watches this film interprets it as the ultimate description of the gay community/their life? IT'S A MOVIE!!! I seriously can't deal with people today, everyone is offended about something...even gays...about a gay movie! 🤣
I hadn't laughed this long in a movie theatre in a LONG time, it's not a representation of anything, just love it for what it is, a very witty comedy that takes a jab on how awful relationships have come to be in contemporary times, straight AND gay.
That being said, I hate to admit that sometimes the movie hits it right in the head on how shallow some people can be, straight AND gay.
PS: Gandalf on steroids is SO hot! 🤣
Servant (2019)
It drags on and on and on
Just finished season 2 and I am abandoning the show. The first season had me interested, but then it turns into "the quest for more money" and advances super slow to give nothing in exchange.
The story is unbelievable, and I don't mean the "supernatural", I mean how stupid and improbable the situations depicted in this show are. "Hey, we just met this person and he looks dodgy AF, let him go around our house by themselves".
The Harry Potter character is absolutely annoying, I guess he is the comic relief, but man does it flop beautifully.
To this day, The Sixth Sense is the only thing this director has made that is worth watching. I would not recommend this show to my worst enemy,
Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City (2021)
Enjoyed it, but only b/c I played the original RE2
It was good, I agree with most that the first half was interesting and the it just became ridoncolous. What saved it for me was the reference to the scenes from the games, that was well done. Could've used dogs and birds inside the police station to scare the **** out of us (like in the game)...many missed opportunities with silly dialog, but maybe it's targeted to teenagers. I thought the first RE was better, but this one was fun because of the game references, if I had not played the game in would've found this completely unwatchable.
Halt and Catch Fire (2014)
What else is there?
I feel like any way I review this show would be unfair. I still have two more episodes to go and I am dreading finishing this.
I've taken my sweet time watching this because, like Breaking Bad, I did not want this to end.
The characters are so strong, all of them. I loved how it portrayed women as strong and respectable, something BB did not try hard to do. But everything was magnificent, it portrayed the era perfectly, and all of those characters, as flawed as they are, represented something much more than what's on the surface. What a beautiful cast and story.
Doctor Sleep (2019)
Ewan McGregor must be desperate
I have no idea who wrote this, but god it feels like it's meant for kids. Not scary, all over the place with irrelevant stories, boring from beginning to ...end? Could not tell, turned it off after the witch flew across town to visit the little girl. Don't care what happens next. Hollywood at its best.
Pig (2021)
Can't believe this came out of Hollywood
I really enjoyed everything in this film, the acting was really good and it's the kind of movie where not everything is handed to you in a platter, you have to interpret things to understand the characters' motivation and behaviour.
Counterpart (2017)
Why can't this go on?!?
Umbrella Academy will get 100 seasons and this wonderful wonderful show was cancelled?! I am still 5 episodes from finishing season 2 and my mind is completely blown, what a wonderful story and superb production, we need more shows like this.
The Umbrella Academy (2019)
How did I even watch this?
I got to season 2. It's basically an MTV episode with idiotic dialog in between the music, so it's MTV from the 90s. Except that MTV had a better plot and the VJs were more interesting than these characters. And it brings the xmen formula: someone dies, but they don't die, but they come back to life, after they're dead. Gimme a ***** break.
Lovecraft Country (2020)
Like Indiana Jones, but it really sucks
I really tried with this one, but it's absolutely ridiculous and lame. The only thing worth watching was the main character for obvious reasons, but I felt embarrassed for whoever wrote this script. The Lovecraft name is just bait to drag you to something that is absurdly ridoncolous.
Raised by Wolves (2020)
Loved it
It's intriguing and yes, it goes downhill after a while, but it keeps you interested. Haven't watched anything sci-fi for so long that was so original and creative. It's not the best thing Inter world but I was a sucker for the story, the characters and the intrigue...reminded me of Lost, in the sense that someones you don't get anything. This one, at least, clears some questions before ending the show!
The Outsider (2020)
Not Drama, Not Horror, just boring
I was really intrigued after the first two episodes. I know this is Stephen King, haven't read any of his books for decades and his sing and dance hasn't changed.
The acting is good, but it drags far too long for what it tries to uncover. As a movie, this could've worked, there was no need to extend this over so many episodes.
It's not bad, if you have nothing else on your plate, go for it, but I'd watch "Sharp Objects" instead of you haven't already.
Non odiare (2020)
No direction
The film starts with an interesting premise, and quickly gets boring as all the events seem to go nowhere and try to nothing, I was really expecting something more, but it's predictable brings nothing new to the table.
Lazzaro felice (2018)
Long, boring, pointless
I can't believe I spent $20 and two hours of my life watching this. The synopsis described at IMDB makes it sound like a worthy story, but it's very far from one.
After reading the two reviews that gave it a 10/10, I believe these are the same people who write Yelp reviews for restaurants.
I did enjoy the first half of the movie, I thought there was something worth telling that would tie all loose ends in the end. But no, it turns into a fable of people manipulating this poor fellow who doesn't react. Very tiring story with not much to tell.
