Rope (1948)
Reminds of a Columbo episode.
Just like a Columbo episode it begins with a murder taking place and a detective unravels the clues as the murderer grows increasingly nervous. Hitchcock would've loved Columbo plots I'm sure. James Stewart as Columbo blows my mind, a very entertaining blown I reckon. Although Colombo murders were never this graphic. The cinimatic effects in this movie are clever with no CGI, Mr Hitchcock does his cameo always worth looking for, The actors were very believable as I disliked the murderers, a good sign of their acting ability if I saw them in a restaurant I would avoid them. All in all a Hitchcock masterpiece. Columbo fans should definitely approve.
Destination Wedding (2018)
So much fun missed 1st view
I've never seen so many reviews for a movie, ever! I stopped scrolling when my finger started to ache, I practically wore a groove in my phone from scrolling the reviews. For heavens sake watch it people, it will affect you.
The Unforgivable (2021)
Unexpectedly Watchable
Stills from this film indicate a dark and dreary story, a forlorn Sandra Bullock acting her heart out in them, I wanted her to smile with those beautiful teeth and ruin the film but she didn't. So, I watched and eventually enjoyed her acting hard core. Sandra was the only good thing about the film, to many unanswered questions was my biggest complaint, a weak story was number two. However, the twist I didn't see coming, so there's that. Worth a watch to check out Miss Bullocks acting ability, passed with flying colours in my book.
The Accountant (2001)
Not sure comedy is the correct classification.
I never actually laughed, it had its funny moments and I cringed now and then and I smiled now and then. I was fascinated by the story and the three actors who seemed like real people who acted real good not actors acting as real people. The dialogue was brilliant at putting pictures in you mind, the scenery was depressing but typical. I was glad it was only 35 minutes as I couldn't have watched 90 minutes of it. All in all it's worth a watch if only for the message it gives.
Upload (2020)
So far so good
I'm up to episode 6 and I'm finding it hard to pause and deal with real life like eating and working. Like every character every scene every CGC Looking forward to watching 7-10 although I have an idea or two on the mystery, can hardly wolf down my tv snacks to get back to e7. Oh, I kinda enjoyed Creed from the office bit, funny but gross.
Bird Box (2018)
Loved it and hated it.
Loved it because it was very gripping throughout, hated it because it made me shout at the tv screen giving advice to the characters. And a couple of times when the children almost went mad and were saved at the last moment , I cried with relief, that's how into it I was and how good it was. I'm not a monster movie lover (Except Frankenstein in the 60's) but this is an exception. The best part is not seeing the monster.
The Masked Singer (2019)
Marvelously mind numbing
Seeing as marijuana as a recreational drug is almost legal now, I feel I have to dump this sleep enhancing show and try dope to send me to the land of nod. But till then, this show is excellent in that field of expertise.
Now You See Me (2013)
Better than I thought.
It's a movie, it has famous people in it. I enjoyed every magical moment. More people seemed to hate it than loved it, the haters are missing the points. 1, It's a movie! M O V I E!! It's entertainment, it's not real, it has CGI. 2,? It has pretty people in it, people pretending to be what their not. 3, We want to be these people and be as smart and as clever. 4, It's time to escape, away from dreary dead end jobs. Go see it and enjoy this movie cocaine.
Earthquake (1974)
Chandelier Vibration Classic
Can only be appreciated in "Surround Sound". When the cup of coffee vibrates very slightly on screen and a chandelier in the cinema very slightly shakes also you wonder if it's a coincidence, till they vibrate in unison seconds later, then, you know you're experiencing an actual earthquake, and that my friends is an opening to beat all openings. I watched it in London UK where an earthquake has never happened and it fooled me into thinking we were having one, brilliant!
