Deadly Voltage (2015)
Avoid.
I saw this movie and the title was advertised as "When The Sky Falls", so I was expecting something closer to 2012, Into the Storm, Day After Tomorrow, etc. I think Deadly Voltage is more fitting, but either way this movie did not deliver any scenes depicting natural disaster catastrophe worth mentioning; instead, it seems more of an indie drama flick, given the "tension" (for lack of a better term... "tension" is an over-statement) among the family members.
There are way better natural disaster movies. Although I must admit I'll start tuning out once I hear climate shifts going to cause a natural disaster: it's a premise in the plot that is way overused; Day After Tomorrow kind of tops the list based on the movies I've seen so far; becomes rather unnecessary to watch any other natural disaster movie, especially any that feature poorly executed CGI and effects.
Save your time and watch something else.

Aqua Teen Hunger Force: Party All the Time (2006)
An Episode for Frylock
Here's my take on this episode: it is, first and foremost, an episode for (or even by) Frylock. It is not simply about him, but rather an episode that reveals some of his deeper hopes.
Basically, his doctor informs him that he has cancer; Shake and Meatwad are up to their usual antics, but Shake's idea of blowing up the sun (however futile that attempt may be, and however worse off it may make the crew) actually carries alongside it a desire to help protect Frylock (from the sun, as he has melanoma according to the Doc.) the best way he possibly could.
Carl shows himself to be out of character: instead of being the heartless, distant, and self-centered person he typically is, he shows concern for Frylock and reminisces, however briefly, about how much Frylock has done for him. The whole crew shows concern for Fry. I think this reveals what he secretly hopes for, for the rest of the main crew to show that they care for him and that they support him; typically he's the one protecting and saving them (if he bothers to interfere, as opposed to leaving them to their ridiculous antics). Hence, why I view this episode for Frylock; one that shows more depth to his character than what may be seen from other episodes.
Even though this show may be seen as a silly cartoon with randomness and (perhaps) nonsense as the foundation to the humor, I think there's still reason to critique it.

Kon-Tiki (2012)
Pretty good movie.
I decided to watch the original Norwegian version of the film with the English subtitles, mostly because I heard the Norwegian version is longer than the English version.
This movie does progress rather slowly, particularly once they get their raft into the water. I think that the fridge salesman's (Herman) idea toward the end, about anchoring the raft and waiting until the 13th wave, sort of serves as his redemption (i.e. the crew was doubtful about his usefulness on this trip since he was introduced to them as a fridge salesman, if I'm not mistaken). And, it would have been nice if they added in more to the movie, to show the audience what happens immediately (not the "in the long run, here's what the crew ended up doing") after arriving at their destination, such as: dialogues between Thor and those who laughed at what he proposed in his thesis; how the scientific community reacted after finding out he accomplished his far-fetched goal; did he ever miss Liv?
Anyway, I loved the ending for what it did show--the letter Thor reads from Liv upon arriving onto the island is bittersweet. I had to bump up my rating of the movie after that part.
Overall, a pretty good movie. 7/10.
