The Witcher (2019)
Exceeded my expectations.
I've had my doubts from the trailer because let's face it, they were terrible. As a HUGE fan of the game series, I was afraid of the final product. But let's not lie to ourselves and pretend the casting and character designs besides Henry are pleasing. It's like screaming in your face. From the "ethnic" diversity to weird dialogues to even ignoring looks described in the books in a very particular fashion. People complained about yennifer's look, wait till they see what they did to triss merigold she's like a completely made up new character. I thinks that's the biggest blow here is that lauren is forcing some "ideas" down our throats.
So why give it a 10? Because despite all that I was actually hooked from the start to finish. I was so used to Geralt from the games; how he looks and sounds and acts, when I saw the trailer I hated Henry. That's why I said the trailers misrepresented the show entirely. I'm not in the slightest way a big fan of Henry, specially him as superman. But he actually, I can go on and claim, killed the role as geralt. He brought geralt to life.
The show is awesome I was really pleased with how it as a whole turned out. From the graphics to the directions to the acting (generally). Sure it has it's flaws as I mentioned above but for some reason these flaws were masked and I didn't feel compelled or forcing myself any time throughout the 8 hours. Super entertaining and catchy as a first season I actually wanted to see more even though I know what happens next.
Give it a genuine try. I did, and I loved it. Great work looking forward to season 2!
The Irishman (2019)
Not for everyone, but 3.5 hours worth the watch. Brilliant film.
I keep coming back to the movie every now and then since the time I watched. That says something. In my opinion, very well done. Not for everyone? Maybe, but you can't oversee scorcesse's touches all over the film. From the soundtracks to the cinematography, crane shots and much more gives this film an experience like no other.
The acting is subjective however. Some may find it over the top, some may find it awesome, and some may find it interesting, but nevertheless, these are world class actors so there performances are appreciated. The one that stands out for me was Joe Pesci. Believe what is being said about him. I don't think this movie would've the same effect if he wasn't in it.
I personally didn't feel the 3.5 hours pass by and again that says something about how invested I was in the story and how to flow of the movie carried that dramatic interest from star to finish.
The irishman will have some buzz at the academy awards that's for sure, might even win best picture or best director, but regardless it is a fun and interesting gangster movie that will stand it's place in time. I highly recommend it.
Natural Born Pranksters (2016)
Stay on youtube, way better!
OK, the first thing to be said is stay on YOUTUBE! I'm a big fan of vitaly's pranks and some of roman's. The youtube pranks are waaaaaaaaay better than this crap! This is really a bad attempt of copying jackass! I mean jackass trilogy i can watch it over and over and over again and i can't get bored or not laugh and i wish they could make a new one. This movie on the other hand, 0% funny, i barley smiled! 20% percent pranks. They're supposed to be "professional pranksters", what i saw as if they are trying so hard to get people's attention just like they did on youtube. Bad filming, bad editing, worst ending ever!
Again STAY ON YOUTUBE!! So disappointed!
