The Haves and the Have Nots (2013)
The acting is horrible.
The good news is no actor is better than the other, they are all equally lack luster, and limping. Also, there are mistakes everywhere, some of them so big it is hard to believe they were missed, like darkness in the afternoon, and characters making reference to a passed event in error, and that directly contradicts what happened a few episodes earlier. Lazy writing, lazy research, lazy proofing, and all around bad acting.
I don't know what would be worse punishment, being forced to watch a season of The Kardasians, or a season of The Haves and the Have Nots. Hard to tell, but both would be good sleep aids.
How She Move (2007)
So so so bad, and I don't mean good.
The acting is terrible. The filming is low level like something out of a beginner's film class. The movie is just a re-take on a thousand other movies about low income neighborhoods. Move on from the pity party, do something interesting, fresh and new. The tough and sassy is boring and overdone. YAWN.
The Red Road (2014)
Enjoying show, but would be more realistic if all characters were natives
The story line is good, and there is enough action here and there to keep the show interesting. I'll keep watching.
The biggest let down is blacks in key rolls, playing natives. It just doesn't work, very unbelievable, especially heard in pronouncing words. They do not look like, or sound like natives on reserves. There are just so many talented native actors that I don't understand why blacks were brought in to play lead rolls as natives. For me this has taken away from authenticity, and realism from the series.
Other than the above noted weakness, the show is very enjoyable to watch, and I look forward to seeing how the writers go forward with development.
