Cold Feet (2019)
Ghosts, snipers, and a dead stripper, what a mix.
A dead stripper at a bachelor party, what could possibly go wrong? While we have seen it before, it works in this instance and gives the way to what Scary Movie did with Scream and all the other slasher films mixed in.
Is it over the top? Of course, it's a horror and a comedy. There has yet to be one I watched that wasn't over the top. This is what makes the film enjoyable. The characters don't act in a way they're supposed to because of the comedy piece.
I'm all for parody's and this fits the bill. It's a great indie fun film and I applaud everyone involved who pulled it off.
Random note: People need to really research these homes. There have been plenty of films to warn them. Ha!
Extramundane (2022)
Great Self Contained Thriller
Loved the cinematography on this. You can tell they put a lot into it. It has a gritty feel and look. The sound quality was also great.
It's a bit of a slow burn with the Alfred Hitchcock feel to it, which I love. The main character, Trevor, is absolutely believable in portraying down on his luck and trying to get his life together. I enjoyed the other tenants as well, expecially the annoyance at hearing a noise and telling the new guy to do his job and figure out the problem.
As far as indie horrors go, this one is a winner. I would have liked a little more of the supernatural parts but that is just a preferance not a dig against the film itself. Overall, great job.
Sold Out (2021)
Heartfelt and Feel Good Film
How many times in life have you look back and thought oh it is too late? Too often we give up before we really had the opportunity to get started. This movie is about having that second chance at following your passion.
I am always one who routes for the underdog so this film had me at the trailer. I not only enjoyed the backstory of the musician but the relationship with the daughter. As a creative I know what it is like to have thoughts in your head or in this case tunes that you can't get out. It doesn't mean that we will all be famous, but that we should at least follow our hearts.
I look forward to seeing more from this director.
