Call Me by Your Name (2017)
Beautiful and sexy, but lack of romantic development
It was a pretty good movie. Scenery was amazing, vibe was good, and it was interesting.
Once their romance picked up I thought the movie got a lot better but it kind of just came out of nowhere. At first Elio seemed annoyed with Oliver and they would kind of just randomly spend time together, but there wasn't a deep connection forming. You could sense the lust between the two but then all of a sudden they both knew it somehow and then they were in love. The buildup wasn't what it could've been. Once they finally started hooking up, I loved their connection and it was beautiful. The ending had me almost crying.
I have to emphasize how SEXY the movie was. Timothée was in looking hot af in minimal clothing most of the movie and it was done in an erotic fashion. No wonder he's considered a "sex symbol" now. Armie was as well but not as much. And their intimate scenes were both sexy and beautiful.
It was very slow paced and there was a lot of just lounging around, so if that isn't your thing I don't recommend. I didn't mind it though. It was relaxing. One thing I don't see people talking about is the philosophy talk of the two academics which was really interesting actually.
I am biased being gay, because there aren't many movies like this out there for us so idk if I'd have given it an 8 if it wasn't 2 very attractive men.
Timothée played Elio wonderfully and he was definitely pulling my heartstrings. I thought all the acting was pretty good. It wasn't the best movie, but it was really good and I'd definitely recommend it. The finish was really strong too, between the dad/son conversation and even the credits with Elio looking into the fire.
The Office: Garage Sale (2011)
Such a great episode
I've watched this show all the way through at least 5 times and I just sobbed watching the ending. The proposal scene is beautiful and absolutely perfect. It's amazing to see Michael so happy with his soulmate after 7 seasons of loneliness and petty behavior. I love how much Holly humbles Michael and that he is finally fulfilled in life. I feel like there could've been one more episode after this as the finale of the show and it would've been perfect. Seeing my favorite TV character of all time like this makes me so happy but it's so sad he leaves the show.
The Office: The Lover (2009)
Pam's behavior was cringy...
Very dramatic response from Pam to the strange news. Pam's one of my favorite characters (especially leading up to this episode) but I don't know what they were thinking to have her throw temper tantrums like that. It was just childish and stupid.
Dwight was funny but I wish Jim would've taken more advantage of that great opportunity. I know he's manager now though.
Little Nemo (1989)
Weird...
I don't even really know how to describe this movie. It is very unique and I've never seen anything like it. It feels like an hour and a half acid trip and it's kind of exhausting actually with how stimulating it is. Things are just in constant motion the entire time. The story is pretty sloppy but it's not terrible for a kids movie. I could barely finish it cuz it was just not a very good movie imo. I could see children enjoying it though.
Lost (2004)
Great show, but still have a lot of questions...
I really loved this show, I thought it was very thrilling and had great plot lines, and some of the characters were very dynamic which is awesome. The show had me at the edge of my seat all the time and I was in love with the characters, especially Locke. Locke was a handicapped and depressed man and found meaning in life and got his walking back from the island. I was so disappointed they killed him off, I figured if anybody would be right for the Jacob job it would be him. It was nice seeing jack become a little more sane and started thinking before he acted. Sawyer had maybe the most change out of all of them, the island turned him from a con artist to a loving friend and boyfriend. The island made the Kwans very happy instead of their old abusive ways, but they ended up dying. A lot of the characters died, almost all of them really. I think Ben was right up there on my favorite list, he was a pretty vile man in season 3 and by the end he was one of the good guys and was Hurley's right hand man. The characters developed so much and made so many beautiful changes it was really heart warming. Aside from the characters, the show was plot was extremely interesting. The island was so magical and mysterious, it was awesome. All the problems they faced were really fun to watch. But good plot lines and characters aren't all you need for a good show. Part of the greatness about the show was the mystery, mysteries usually get answered. Not in this show. And certain things would just get dropped or they would stop talking about it out of nowhere. Or it would never be concluded. My biggest problem with the show was the lack of answers throughout the whole show and even when it was over. First off, the numbers thing with Hurley, no one ever knew about that. The only person he ever told was Charlie and Rousseau. That was really annoying to me, and I figured by the time the show ended they would find out but they never did the show just dropped it. The fifth season was the worst, instead of having flashbacks they were having foreshadows, and it was really, really disturbing. Desmond also somewhere along the way stopped having visions all of a sudden. There was so much wrong with the sixth season too, first off they killed my favorite character but kept his actor around playing the immortal antagonist. He even acted like Locke! I sometimes forgot it was the black smoke because he walked talked and did everything like Locke. I loved the episode that explained Jacob and the black smoke, finally some answers, but they didn't even have a name for the black smoke which was really weird. Worst of all, the alternate universe or whatever was happening, was the stupidest and most confusing thing ever. Were they like during the same time as the show? Were they some alternate reality? If the characters go back would they run into themselves? Questions never answered. And the whole idea of them being chosen by the island, was all a lie. Jacob just chose them and wrote their names down, they weren't special. That was never really cleared up all the way. And I still don't fully understand Jacobs role, or now Hurley's role. Protect the island yes, but from who, and how? The smoke monster just walked right into the light area, and jack couldn't do anything because he's immortal. So how did Jacob? Instead of the show having a good and thorough ending it answered some of the biggest questions and then ended. Also, what did Whidmore want!? He just kept showing up and I don't know why! They never told us. I would keep going but I don't have unlimited space or time to type everything not answered. Great show, just so many flaws and remaining questions. If I had more answers it would've gotten at least an 8. Rating the seasons: 1: 9 2: 8 3: 8 4: 9 5: 6 6: 6
Sons of Anarchy (2008)
Exciting and addictive, but far from perfect
I gave SOA a rating of 7 because its really addictive and exciting, but with errors. First, there are so many plot holes you lose track. For example: clay being alive a day after season one. This was my biggest pet peeve of the entire show. Every other situation in the show when Jax gets mad, he turns to violence and sometimes murder. He just found out his father in law, the man hes most looked up to basically his whole life tried to kill Jaxs best friend, a member of their club. According to every other situation in the whole show, Jax would kill Clay, right? No, instead he lets Clay live for about 5 more years, even after he later finds out Clay killed his actual father and tried killing his wife. I mean, I really don't know how I managed to watch through season 2. It was horrible, every second that Jax or Clay was on the screen.
And when the clubhouse was blown up, why did everything burn except their table, gavel, and JT's bike? In real life when there's a fire, everything burns! Including the most important things! Not in SOA. And why didn't they ever rebuild the clubhouse? The club is so invincible it gets really annoying and unrealistic. It becomes a little more realistic in the last season, because they start paying for their actions for once.
Another thing I thought was kind of annoying was the extremely repetitive dialogue. Whenever bad news was heard the only thing anyone said was "Jesus Christ" or "Sh**" . And I can see if all the club members talked similar because their together 24/7, but EVERYBODY said it, Jesus Christ was said probably multiple times an episode. Other words that got old were "sweetheart" and "give me a minute". And there would once in a while be a phrase never used before like 3 times an episode, from different characters in different situations.
The 3rd season was just weird. It just felt awkward and I really didn't like it at all.
I didn't really care for the ending much either, it was pretty unclear. The entire show was about Jax making the club legit. Well, why was there still question about whether the club was legit at the end? And I know Jax said there was peace everywhere, but he said that all the time in season 7 so why is it believable the last time? There were so many questions left unanswered.
But even though my review was about all the bad things, there were a lot of good things too. The acting was good, especially Katey Sagal, and the characters are pretty likable. The story lines are for the most part interesting. You really start to care about Jax's family. And I cared so much about Gemma that after she killed Tara I hated her but I actually still loved her. I never really cared about the cub members that much (Tig, Chibbs, Bobby, etc.) but they were funny at times. I would recommend this show if you like a lot of action and excitement. But if you are a realist, like myself, I wouldn't watch it. It gets painful to watch at times and if you get hooked you cant stop, even with the errors.
