Saint X (2023)
If you like murder mysteries then this ISNT IT
Can I just say that I wish I had never watched this show... it had such potential in the beginning but the ending is just AWFUL.
For starters, the main character... annoying. Her character is so self cantered and it just makes it so hard to watch. She ruined so many people's lives by just being plain reckless.
Don't bother! They claim it's a murder mystery show but it's not that at all. They keep stringing you along thinking it was a murder but it was her fault she ended up dead all along. The drama revolving Edwin and Gogo was so obvious and they made it seem like it was such a big reveal.
Skip this show! Its 8 episodes long but could've easily been 6.
Friday Night Lights (2006)
Clear Eyes... Full hearts... Can't lose
This show is amazing! They honestly need to bring back TV shows like these and one tree hill and the o.c. Even if you aren't a football fan, believe me you will be after this show.
Every character is well written and on their own path to growth which allows you to emotionally connect and invest in them.
The only thing I seriously didn't like was the ending. Seriously though, that ending was a huge disappointment. I feel like they could've at least given us another episode or 2 just to make it count. It just felt very rushed towards the end.
If you're into the 2000s shows like One Tree Hill, The O. C, 90210, and those then this show is for you!
It's emotional, touching, and so heartfelt. Not to mention they touch on social issues which mad respect.
Inventing Anna (2022)
Now this was interesting
I had never really heard of Anna before this show so hearing her story and everything she went through was very interesting to me considering I love true stories.
The actors were amazing and the storyline was very engaging and promising all throughout.
I was super interested in the story so naturally I googled it after I finished and I was amazed at how many of the details they got right compared to the real story.
I also liked the comedic aspect they portrayed. I had a few laughs here and there. I really think you should watch this show as it is a tv mini series and it is intriguing to see how the real world is like.
Normal People (2020)
Got me in my feels
This show was a straight up 10 for me! I loved everything about it. It was so beautifully well written and very realistic at the same time. I've experienced some of things that were portrayed in the show so it really hit close to home.
I loved the character development as well and how emotionally connected the audience is to the characters. The actors did an amazing job with outstanding performances. I really wish there would be a season 2 but I can also understand why they would end it with one season.
It's heartbreaking and so full of love... I truly love and enjoyed this show so much. We need more shows like this.
Cruel Summer (2021)
WATCH THIS NOW
This show is AMAZING! It's so thrilling and the character development is chefs kiss. I was hooked from the first 10 minutes. If you're into crime/mystery then this is definitely the show for you. I really hope they make more seasons with different stories because it's really is phenomenal. Jessica Biel clearly has the mindset of a director/producer just judging based off her work from The Sinner and she definitely didn't disappoint on this one.
You think you know what happens but the show keeps making you second guess yourself with all the twists and turns. I wish I didn't watch this so I can rewatch it again because it is that good.
7500 (2019)
Can we stop portraying Muslims as terrorists?
I enjoy these types of thrillers however I'm tired of seeing Muslims being categorised as terrorists in every single film such as this. It's getting out of hand. Had I known this was the direction it was going, I wouldn't have even considered watching it.
Regardless, I decided to finish it and see how it plays out. Joseph is clearly an amazing actor which I think we all know by now but the movie didn't allow us to emotionally connect with other characters... so for the entire duration of the film we're just focused on those two characters. Joseph's character was also misleading. These people just murdered the mother of your child and youre somewhat sympathetic towards one of them .. ridiculous. The way he didn't even stop and hug her body or cry or whatever when he was exiting was unrealistic.
Not bad in terms of showing us how a hijacking situation is meant to be handled but I also don't think you should be advertising your every plan to the hijacker's.
The Whale (2022)
Good but kind of slow!
It's a really good movie but it moves slow and theirs a lot of repetition. I love Sadie the actress but her character was hard to digest. Definitely not my favourite role for her although she played the part really well.
Overall, it's good and enjoyable. I really enjoyed the story as a whole. I just wish the beginning moved a little bit quicker. Brendan's performance is outstanding! He really manifested the character perfectly!
There's a great range of characters that I enjoyed but I just felt like the movie was a bit too long and very slow in the beginning.
If you haven't seen, you definitely should, at least once as the message is amazing.
