Longlegs (2024)
Not worth the hype but watch it for Nic
I saw the movie yesterday and suffice to say this movie has been hyped way too much. I am a die hard horror fan and went to this movie with a lot of expectation. Watching Nic cage transformation in the first scene itself gave me chills and thought that the movie later would add on to those chills. But that was the only moment of horror i got.
Story has been told before and more so in Hereditary and beautifully. Here the movie lacked was genuine horror elements which we are so much accustomed to by Neon.
Go watch it for Nicolas Cage because this guy can act. Amazing transformation as a serial killer.
Kalki 2898-AD (2024)
Tantalizingly close to being a good sci fi movie
Caught the movie yesterday just to know what all the fuss was about. I am not a big fan of indian sci fi movies because our indian movie directors dont know how to use CGI. We are still living in 2000s when it comes to CGI. But here the result is different because the CGI was one of the best in Indian movies yet. No wonder this movie is the costliest yet.
In terms of story, we all know about Mahabharata. Such an epic tale but no one has come close to replicate it on big screen. Some tried but failed miserably.
I really admired AB's performance. This guy can act even at this age and can put some other big actors to shame. Prabhas plotline was thin. Only during last half hour he was able to join in the action. Otherwise he was forgettable. Cant wait to watch the next part when it releases.
Maharaja (2024)
Unexpected!!Thrilling!!!Beautiful
Seldom you see an indian movie that is captivating enough to write a review. Maharaja is one of them. You expect something and what you get is something entirely different and extremely delicious. Acting was as usual top notch. So simple yet so delightful to watch. Vijay's acting is on a different level. Anurag Kashyap is good. He doesn't have much to do. That Inspector who's name I forgot . He is some kind of an all-rounder. But in always. This movie will be talked about the amazing twist which reminded me of a Korean movie called Oldboy. And the non linear shooting was breathtaking too. Won't be able to take your eyes off.
Aavesham (2024)
One of the great comedy and complete entertainer
Saw this movie recently. Not being a local, i realised i will not be able to enjoy the movie as much. So i waited for a dubbed version. And when it came on OTT, i saw it. I was laughing the whole way. Its been a while i saw an indian movie this entertaining. From beginning to end, the entire movie was a laugh riot.
Now comes the character. The three college boys were just the filler for Farhad. This movie was carried by FF all the way. His enigmatic personality, his charisma, dialogue delivery, his expressive eyes all made this a great watch. So what i dont know the language. This dubbed part was equally great. Totally paisa vasool. Worth it!!!
The Iron Claw (2023)
An emotional roller coaster ride
I saw this movie just today after keeping it on a back burner for so long. I thought a movie on Pro wrestling won't be that good or worthy. But I was wrong. This movie was so good on so many level. I literally felt very upset after finishing the movie. I felt pity on von Erich brothers and how they fell one by one. Some of the stories are definitely not matching with the movie. Factually wrong some of the events. But still this movie displayed everything about the Erich brothers. Being a wrestling man, you wonder what kind of pain these pro wrestlers go through everyday just for our entertainment. And how this story had eerie similarities with two other famous pro personalities by the name of Eddie Guerrero and and Chris Benoit.
About the movie, story telling was top notch. Acting wise all to the point. Movie was brilliantly made. Pity there was no Oscar . But this movie definitely touched my heart.
Farzi (2023)
2nd Season can't come early.....
Raj and DK have created another universe where the characters are likable and the story enjoyable. After family man, i didn't thought there could be another crime thriller which can even match the excitement of family man. But thisseries came so close to that. Firstly, the story is basic. We have seen these kinds before. What's different in this series is the acting. Shaeed kapoor is not that of a good actor. But here he shines. Vijay is amazing in his character. Comic relief between him and the politician character is so refreshing. Other characters support them very well. Story is very fast paced. Anyone can enjoy the series at any time. Just waiting for the second season.
Indian Police Force (2024)
What a load of bull. Don't waste your time
This is my review after watching just 2 episodes. I can understand the lack of physics in Rohit shetty movies. But this one lacks both the common sense as well as some other. Entire season looked like an advertisement for RAY Ban aviator. Every one is wearing that. There is no actual resemblance between truth and this show. Take for instance, police officers going on a raid with out bulletproof jacket. I was like" use your head buddy". Then there is another instance where officers are celebrating birthday on the day when there is serial blast in the entire state.
When I saw the trailer, I really thought it will be fun to watch. But it's not. It's really a waste of time.
The Marvels (2023)
What a mess!!!!!!!!
Never thought MCU could stoop so low. I never ever though that i would give a MCU movie a 1 star. But this movie deserves that. Looks like the writers were sleeping. I always knew DC comics were better that Marvel Comics. But earlier movies were written so spectacularly written, they overshadowed the story. But movies of late are definately written in a bitter state. I wonder what else is in store. I miss the good old days of MCU, but not this kind of garbage. This movie has to be the in one of the worst written movie. Only advantage is that the length of the movie is short. So i can skip everything in 15 minutes. This movies does not add anything. Just made by 10 year old i think.
Adipurush (2023)
Disgrace in the name of a movie
Saw the trailer. So decided to not go to cinema hall and waste my time. Saw the movie yesterday because my parents wanted to see a clean movie. But what a waste of my time and their. This movie is a perfect example of how to waste money and resources. First about CGI. Its 2023 and bollywood does not have a decent CGI. I used to see the cartoons in 2000 whose CGI was better than this. Second about the story. Director has to know that comparision will be made between this so called movie and a legendary TV series called Ramayana. But i guess the director forgot about that while making this movie. In making a grand movie, he forgot the measurement of scale. There was no story. Too much of worse CGI. A cartoon would have been a good choice. Director assasinated the character with his story. Too bad. Wish i could do something about it, but unfortunately i can't.
12th Fail (2023)
Movie that will touch your heart
Seldom there comes a movie that would definately touch your heart. Such was the simplicity in the movie, that would definately make you cry. This movie was as clean as a family movie that you would get during these times. Hats off to Massey. I knew he was a great actor, but this movie proved that he is more than that. Been a long time that i actually spect the entire duration of movie without skipping any thing. Last scene was a bit touching when he goes to meet the officer who set him straight in the beginning. Its a true story but director portrayed every thing in such a simple way. UPSC struggle is real. Lots os lots of aspirants are there. But struggle becomes bearable if you have a better companionship along the way who keeps you motivating to achieve your ambition. Its a classic movie all the way from beginning to end. Thank you for making a movie like this. Good job.
Jawan (2023)
What a joke of a movie
Saw the movie yesterday. Have to say i was disappointed. Could not understand all the hoopla surrounding this movie. I am not a fan of masala pot boiler but i have seen quite a few of them. Movies like KGF, Vikram etc which were made in the local language were amazing to watch. But if you try to made the same kind of movie in Hindi, you get a movie like Jawan. Movie had no story. Just few glorified so called actors and actress and director got wasted and made this. Its a total wastage of time. Glad i resisted the temptation to see this movie on big screen. Pathaan was much better than this. SRK should stop applying this heavy makeup and he should definately not change his voice tone to convey his seriousness. Its pathetic.
The Flash (2023)
Seriously not the best DC movie
Just caught the show today. Didn't lived up to the hype. I mean if you go by trailer, movie is nothing like it. 1st part was good. Had a great laugh. But the second part was where the movie literally got boring. It was lengthy. 2.26 hrs just doesn't justify this movie. I mean if they could have adapted the whole flashpoint, it would be really worth it. But they just took the basic idea and went totally in opposite direction. Flashpoint had a story, a soul, something reasonable. But this one has Barry just running around and goofing around. They made Zod like a joker. He was so intimidating in MOS, but here he was used as filler. Didn't liked it. Cameos were the best part. Nic cage as supe was dream come true. Tribute to Chris Reeves was amazing And then the end scene was cherry on top. But otherwise, its a boring movie. I.
Fast X (2023)
Jason Momoa steals the show
I have been following Fast franchise since the beginning. Should have ended a long time ago. Should have ended at Fast 5. But glad it didn't. Otherwise we couldn't have seen Jason Momoa embodying the arch nemesis part so well. Jason steals the show entirely. In each and every scene he is in. Action set pieces were grounded. And not over the top. Others doesn't leave an impression. It's the same old family crap. How does one gets killed in one movie and gets resurrected in other movie. Glad Paul Walker is not here to see the end result. Otherwise he would have been resurrected as well. Charlize doesn't have much to do. Nor does Brie Larson. It's pretty much the same story line.
The Sandman (2022)
Amazing
For someone who hasn't read the novel or hasn't ever heard about the character, this series works great. Amazing. I am so hooked up with this character. Everything is too notch according to me. The acting , the CGI, the soundtrack. My suggestion would be to not go according to the recent reviews because that was given by guys who already knew about this character. Go for it with open mind. You won't be disappointed. Now I know why it was so difficult to make this novel into a tv series. But hats off to the creative team.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022)
Not much in the movie
Meh. Saw it today. Not much to like though. Story was bit predictable. CGI was awesome though. New superheroes were a bit of damp if you ask me. John Krasinski doesn't suit Reed Richards. And black bolt. So so boring.
Moon Knight (2022)
Series finale ruined it for me
I was so hooked up with this show. Everything from action to acting to comic to presentation to dialogues was amazing. Can't appreciate Oscar Issac enough for his acting chops. So amazingly and effortlessly he shifted from Marc to Steven to Marc. This dude should get some sort of recognition for this series. But yes, the last episode was boring and kind of forced.
The Witcher (2019)
Season 2 better than 1
After watching season 1, I never thought the next one would be so interesting. I delayed watching season 2 for a month. Then finally watched it on December 31. Wow. Henry Cavill was already awesome in S1. Here he was too notch. Normally in sci fi series, if acting is bad, then no amount of CGI can save the series. But here the acting, narrative, story, plot lines and CGI all are in sync. Much better as compared to season 1 which I think was very boring and confusing.
Red Notice (2021)
Name suggests u stay far away from this movie
One of the boring movies I have seen in recent time. One would say that the star power would be enough to drive this movie forward, but they would be wrong. Even the short interaction between RR and the Rock in Hobbs and Shaw was better than this entire movie. Gal Gadot is all charm and no substance at all. Other two are her two sidekicks as they have nothing else to do. Don't waste ur time on this.
Dune: Part One (2021)
Don't compare this with LOTR
When dune came, people started comparing this with LOTR saying that this would be the next big thing to watch. I saw the movie yesterday. It's nowhere near LOTR. Yes the visuals are stunning and it would be a waste to see this kind of movie on small screen, but still comparing it with LOTR is futile. The story telling in LOTR was a lot easier on eyes and enjoyable. Here it's complex. Maybe if you copy the movie exactly from the book, this would be the result. Maybe what people are saying is correct that it's impossible to adapt the classic book onto screen. All in all, it's a good movie and I am hoping to seee it on cinemas sometime.
The Suicide Squad (2021)
What a beautiful movie
Something to cheer about in this doom. Producers must be very brave to release this movie in this situation. Anyways, movie was a spectacle to watch. Something that was expected form the last suicide squad. Movie was fun to watch from the beginning. And that to it's not a PG13 anymore. Overall a good beginning once again. Something for DC to cheer about.
Black Widow (2021)
Boring, awefull,
Saw the movie yesterday. Didn't expect the movie to he this boring. Exactly opposite of the trailer. I expected this movie to be in line with the vibe of Winter soldier. What I got was a crappy version. Not enough action sequences. Story line was very slow. Not the way I wanted Black widow saga to end. She deserves a much better movie. After all she sacrificed herself 😂😂😂
The Tomorrow War (2021)
Edge of tomorrow-Boring version
Don't waste ur time or money. This is a cheap version of edge of tomorrow. Almost. But it's too boring and too much of the same thing.
Army of the Dead (2021)
Terrible
For Zack Snyder, it's either awesome or awefull. This movie comes in later. Going by trailer, I thought this movie would be so awesome to watch, but it's another generic Z movie. I had to drag myself to complete the movie. I fast forwarded a lot of times because I knew what dialogues would be spoken. It's so easy to guess. BTW, if the makers could make a Zombie tiger, why the same treatment was not given to the horse. I guess if horse could speak, then there would be another #horsematters movement. I mean the horse was not even moving anything. Not it's head or tail. Attention to details matter or else it would be another zombie movie where everyone dies except one or two. I like Mr Zack as a visionary director who gave us JL and MOS and BvS, but this is utter disappointing.
Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021)
Zack.....my man
Zack Snyder....you beauty. This is the most gorgeous superhero movie ever made. Joss wheaden should go to jail for what he did to JL.
But thanks to millions of fans and thanks to the creative in WB, they helped Zack to implement his vision. Very beautifully crafted movie and 4 hours for this movie is justified. Hope Zack gets another opportunity at this JL. But one can only hope. Because of this hope only, we got to see this spectacle.

Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)
Expected more
Started the movie yesterday and finished it today. It's not at all what I was expecting. Very disappointed. After rescheduled for count less number of time, I thought this movie would be a spectacle. But it's nothing short than disappntment. First movie set the bar so high, that any future wonder woman movies will barely be able to match. This movie doesn't have a story, acting was over the top or not at all there, theme song as promised in the trailer did not show up. Pretty standard stuff
