Reap (2020)
Ugh.
Tell me you did no research on Satanism without telling me you did no research on Satanism. You didn't even read the pages you had the character visit! Had you bothered, you would know that LaVeyan Satanists do not worship Satan as a deity. Five seconds of reading. But I guess if you're not going to bother learning how to write, direct, act or any of that, research shouldn't be expected.
Camp Takota (2014)
I find myself wishing this were a real camp. And I so want some tater tots now.
This film is so thoroughly enjoyable, that I am of the opinion you should just stop reading this review right now and go watch it. Go. Now.
... needing specifics? All right then.
Beautifully written, this film will make you laugh, sigh and feel all the feelings without once letting you down. The story is adorable and relatable and everything down to the last detail is thoroughly thought out and impeccably crafted. Hollywood wishes it could produce something this refreshing.
Grace, Mamrie and Hannah bring it to the big screen (well, you know what I mean) in a way that will surely have Tina and Amy watching their backs! Their performances are everything you were gleefully anticipating and more. If you're a YouTuber from way back, you will be thrilled. If you are new and being compelled to watch by a manic friend, you will be hooked.
It's important to note that the friendship of this trio, as well as the love felt on the set by everyone down to the tiniest camper, comes through in a beautiful and genuine way in this movie. You know a labor of love when you watch it. It warmed my heart and made me grin from ear to ear even when I was also crying.
I cannot wait to see what they do next.
