I hold this as exhibit A of pop culture gone wrong.

There is no redeeming feature to this series. No moral, no morals in point of fact.

This is a wildly tedious vehicle for the sole purpose of pandering to a deviant demographic.

Why a studio/production company would continue to pump out this literal tripe I cannot imagine.

Why an audience would watch it is equally baffling.

I would wish the producers well but that would neither be earnest nor helpful to our society.

Scintilla (2014)

Very entertaining sci-fi video

This had everything I want from a lower budget, idea driven video. I did not want to kill-off the main characters, which is not a given.

The concept was developed and delivered quite well. Primarily it was easy to watch, no irritating aspects.

Notwithstanding the fact it did not hit all the demographic pulling requirements nor the pop-culture mandates such as the ubiquitous LGBT genuflecting.

If you can live without the aforementioned and like the genre, give this a try. I am accustomed to low-end budget movies that show it, primarily in the lack of story. This is not one of those. It lacked some heart but it did pull you in, suspend your disbelief....escaped for a bit.

Sense8 (2015–2018)

Dull trip to nowhere.

J. Michael Straczynski has done some extraordinary work relative to the time and genre. Sense8 is not representative of that. I have seen comments from users and I believe Straczynski himself, this is the work he is most proud of. Since this is his most recent work and little doubt he wishes to continue in this business, of course he would say that while in the process of selling the thing. I did watch all of them, to give a fully qualified review. On my own, without the need to finish this boring claptrap. There has been some considerable focus on the sexual content. For my part, of course you probably wouldn't want your tweens watching this but parental guidance aside, sexual content is the least of the problems Straczynski has here. The only thing he accomplished by providing a smut element which did not add entertainment appeal, was to repulse an important demographic.
