Cloverfield (2008)
Blair Witch meets the American Godzilla: bad parts only version.
I have never in my life seen a cinema audience so entirely dissatisfied with a movie experience. Cloverfield has built up something of a lot of hype, yet in no way shape or form lives up to expectations. The entirety of the cinema I was in seems to echo my thoughts, as when the credits rolled every single person I saw was grumbling and not happy as they left the building.
Didn't these people learn anything from the way Blair Witch bombed? People don't want to see a shakily filmed production; you never see anything interesting, and in the off chance something does come up, like in the cases of some of the deaths in this movie, they are obscured by something being in the way of a not straight camera, or the camera moving too much for a clear view. There are no resolutions to anything, the character development is lacking, and while the creature design is impressive, there aren't enough details or clear shots of it to understand just what it is you are looking at.
If you really must see this movie, wait and rent the DVD. Otherwise I'd advise you to not bother.
Mulit (2003)
Most entertaining advertisement ever.
I was given this musical on a promotional DVD, and ever since I first watched it I have loved every second of it.
While it does have the over-the-top dance scenes that most people would have come to love and expect from a movie like this, there are so many other rich aspects that appeal to the viewer. From the story of the rich girl falling in love with the hairdresser, to the competition to see who in the audience can find the most subtle advertisements for Absolute vodka in the background of the musical, this short film is absolute gold.
Even if people don't care about the near-hidden advertisements, watching Mulit is an definite must if you love good, cheesy, entertainment.
