The OA (2016)
Thrilling, Captivating, Stunning and full of Originality
Was a breath of fresh air. I was taken aback when I first watched this show. It really affected me, in terms of it made me think after each episode. I would try and sleep at night but couldn't as it was always on my mind. The main character is simply amazing and the complexity of the story just captured me 100%. The first episode and the way it ends was just brilliant and clever. Instantly I was invested in all the main characters and their own stories and how they came together. Loved the way it was shot as it was stunning, the story has so many unanswered questions. These unanswered questions made my mind wander off when I stopped watching trying to figure out what was going on, who she really was, what had happened etc.
I've never seen a show like it and i applaud the originality of it all and it captured my heart. I loved every second of it and was glued from start to finish. Also big shout out for the Violin scene. The piece of music is stunning. I watched it 3 times and learned more each time. Stunning.
Can see why the 2nd Season has taken so long as the complexity of the story and to do it right takes time. Applaud the writers for that as it would be easy just to throw out a second season. You can tell that this means a lot to them which is why it has to be perfect.
I Love You, Man (2009)
Extremely underrated Comedy
This is a comedy that does not get mentioned in the same bracket as Dumb and Dumber, The Hangover, 21 Jump Street, Monty Python etc. In my opinion this is one of the best. When someone describes the story to you, then you would think you have seen that done before. If so then you won't have seen one like this. Peter is such an amazing guy and it shows you that when you are an adult it's so much more difficult to make friends as there isn't that many opportunities to do so. This is a great story of that and the struggles shown through very funny scenes that make you laugh out loud. Sydney is a loveable guy who is a bit mysterious but is great for Peter. The movie shows this journey and is incredibly funny with a lot of smart lines and clever dialogue. I loved it from start to finish. It's a real laugh out loud and feel good movie. Very underrated. Although everyone I mention it to loves it.
Back to the Future (1985)
Classic and in a Genre if it's own
This movie is an unbelievable adventure of the imagination and the characters are brilliant. Doc the mad scientist, Marty the guy everyone wants to be but also has the anger of a small man lol. Biff the bully who everyone loves to hate. I love the innovation and thought behind this move and the message. I never get tired of watching it as it takes me on an adventure every time. Who said good guys finish last?
Planes, Trains & Automobiles (1987)
This movie has it all. Clever, Funny and tugs the heart strings.
This is my favourite movie of all time. Why? Because it has everything. Straight from the start of the movie it catches your attention as it's quick moving, with some clever moments with the huge case, to Candy's annoyingly lovable character, this unexpected adventure the two men go on is magical and is very emotional in more than one way. Classic.
