Actually hilarious

I loved this movie. I laughed out loud on several occasions. I WAS LAUGHING FROM THE OPENING SCENE. Haven't laughed at a movie like this in a long time. I think the acting is good. Jokes are great. I think there are so many negative comments because the jokes are geared to be funny to black people. Like hilarious inside jokes. In fact non-blacks might be uncomfortable laughing at some of them. Oh well. I was rotflmao! Unapologetically. I would love to see more movies like this. The dinner scene...HILARIOUS.

And I liked the music. And the scenes. Stop hating y'all. Just know that everything isn't and doesn't have to be for everybody and move on.

Avatar (2009)

Original avatar. Still a classic!

WHY ARE PEOPLE LEAVING REVIEWS FOR THE NEW MOVIE HERE??? This is for the original (sheesh). The ORIGINAL movie is a magical adventure. A classic! When it came out in 2009 it was a cinematic masterpiece! Please, new watcher, don't judge this movie by 2022 standards because you are just watching it for the first time. Because back then, we all left the theater amazed and in awe! The plot, acting, technology, all made us fall in love with this movie and we have been waiting to see what happened after he opened his eyes in the closing scene for 14 years! And the movie has aged well. The themes are extremely relevant (unfortunately) and the movie is equally as enjoyable as it was years ago. I am excited to see part 2 on the big scene!

Spirited (2022)

Loved it!

I really enjoyed this movie. I typically don't love Christmas movies. And as soon as they started singing was like NO! NOT A MUSICAL! But I was pleasantly surprised. The story was good. Songs good. And the dancing was great! Those tappers stood the show! Very well out together production. I'd love a lit of all of the hidden joke in the movie like the elf costume. And the cameos. Like who was the guy at the piano? Overall it's a funny, well performed instant family classic. I have a secret crush on Will with his silver fox self (lol). Side note why such a long character count for these reviews guys.

Insecure (2016–2021)

One of the best series of all times.

This is hands down an amazing series and in my opinion one of the best series of all time. Not top or number one, but it definitely deserves a spot on the list. It ranks! And the ending was so satisfying. A lot of series we love ended horribly. Not this one! I laughed, I cried, I fell in love with the characters and I hate to see this story end.

Great writing. Great acting. The only bad acting came from Kendrick Sampson (he is a terrible actor!) and the star of the show was Issa's hair! I loved how she showed natural women they can have beautiful, versatile styles.

Some reviews are complaining about sex scenes and a lot of stuff that y'all don't complain about with other series. Oh it's a problem on this show? I wonder why. Keep the selective outrage. This is an AMAZING show and Issa is a genius. I can't wait to see what the future holds for her.

Morbius (2022)

Terrible

If by horror movie they meant horrible, they got everything correct. This is a terrible movie. Plot and characters are bad. Tyrese's acting is bad. Everything is just bad. This was a hard film to watch. After hearing both critic and viewer reviews I was going to skip this. I should have.

Ambulance (2022)

This movie is really, really bad. The acting is terrible. Seriously, how did they manage to get two amazing lead actors to act so badly. Their lines were terrible and the timing was off and awkward at several points throughout the film. The script was also horrible and the plot was all over the place and full of holes.

The fact that the movie was bad, and long, made things worse. The ending was ridiculous and I walked away annoyed and made I wasted my time on this trash.

Gully (2019)

Great movie! But requires depth most people simply don't possess.

This was a really good movie. I know why there are so many bad ratings. Most viewers have grown accustomed to the same shallow, repetitive, mindless entertainment, and most lack the level of consciousness required to appreciate quality storytelling. This movie is for people who like depth. Who can follow a plot. Who can allow the filmmaker to stimulate their imagination. This movie was art. A novel you just can't put down. It was a crime drama, psychological thriller, fantasy, and indie film at the same damn time. The acting was great. Imaginative story telling.

The problem isn't the movie, it's people tuning in because they see actors like Jacob Latimore and Terrence Howard expecting Chicago or Empire. This isn't that. Everything doesn't have to be that. Someone commented "don't expect Boyz in the Hood." Why would anyone expect that or even compare these two films? Entirely different movies, and you can STILL enjoy Gully even if it doesn't fit the urban California drama format.

LOVED this movie. Especially the imaginative ending. (Side note "gully" was a popular slang term when I was young. Haven't heard it in a minute :)

Midnight Mass (2021)

The most creative horror series in YEARS!

I only watched this because it was part of the haunting anthology and I have to say this is one of the most creative horror series I've seen in years! Just when I think they can't come up with anything new, bam! I am very happy I didn't know anything about this show before watching because when that reveal moment hit me I literally jumped up in my bed! At first I was like man, this is boring...I went from about to give up and stop watching to about to risk it all, get zero hours sleep, and finish the entire series in one night because I just HAD to know how it ended 😩 Loved it! Absolutely loved it! Great job! For real!

I rarely write reviews but had to give this one much deserved props!

Stargate SG-1 (1997–2007)

Greatest Sci Fi series of ALL.TIME. PERIOD

What else needs to be said? This is the greatest sci fi series of all time. No debating this. When the series finales aired, I cried (especially for SG1). I have watch SG1, Atlantis, and Universe, and all of the movies straight through more times than I can count and proud of it! Put my stargate franchise DVD collect (that's right, I have all of the DVDs) in my coffin so I can watch in the afterlife! Only shows I can watch over and over...and over and still love every minute of it!
