Four Seasons (2008)
Lip syncing and removed from reality
There were some good spots, but overall unbelievable. These people shack up with each other at the drop of a hat, the money situations are mathematically impossible and the lip syncing is off-putting. And the fact that the main character looks like she's 14 years old is annoying because they could have made her look more her age.
Alice Through the Looking Glass (2016)
I love this movie!
This is one of my favorite movies. There are a lot of good lessons about using time wisely and being true to each other.
A Timeless Christmas (2020)
Can't be bothered to do a little research
It is a typical Hallmark movie that is mildly entertaining. I've given up hope that the hair, makeup and clothing in one of these would be period correct. However, when they start talking about the blue moon in the middle of the month, that's just a little ridiculous. It takes almost a full 30 days for the moon to cycle. This is why we have months. A meteor shower would have been more believable because those aren't normally on a schedule.
Lady and the Tramp (2019)
Even if it wasn't a remake...
This movie doesn't have two feet to stand on. The plot is weak, the dialogue was out of its time period, the time period is out of its time period, voice acting is not the same as acting, and it is so annoying when men are portrayed as bumbling ninnies who can't decide which way is up or down. I can imagine the brainstorming session for this one:
"OK guys! We got to make this more PC! How are we going to do that?"
"Let's make up an alternate reality and confuse everyone with all of the plot holes."
"Won't that make people ticked off?"
"It's OK! We'll have talking animals. It'll be fine!"
Medici (2016)
Overdramatic Melodrama
The Medici had enough intrigue and drama, there was no reason to add the ridiculous misunderstanding and inability to act like adults. The song as the beginning was the best part.
Screen Two: Persuasion (1995)
A Masterpiece
Everything about this movie is perfection. Watch it and you'll agree.
Troy: Fall of a City (2018)
Horrible Histories did a better job
Save yourself the time and watch the Horrible Histories about Helen of Troy.
Nearlyweds (2013)
It's three 1950's Romance Comics come to life
My brother gave me a compilation of the classic romance comics from the middle of the 20th century. There are three plot themes from these comics.
#1: Overbearing husband wants the perfect trophy wife and makes her feel like a looser when she tries to think.
#2: The wife feels like she has to compete with other women for her clueless husband's attention because of the evil designing woman trying to steal him.
#3: The husband and the apron strings that were never cut.
I think someone was reading them when they came up with the plot for this movie.
