A History of Violence (2005)
bad, just bad
my brother (20), a friend (20) and i (22) watched this movie having no idea what to expect, we had no friends that had seen it or even looked up reviews online. we were laughing at its crappiness about 20 minutes into the film. the dialogue was bad, the antagonists were lame and laughable. the standard jock bully guy was probably the worst character (written for and acted) i've seen in probably almost a year. the only non-terrible acting job was by ed harris and he played the standard ed harris character so it basically wasn't even acting. the plot was as solid as a wet paper bag and the 2nd sex scene was thrown in for no reason. people can try to justify it all they want but it is malarkey, just terrible writing and direction. i did like the first 15 minutes or so and the camera shots, thats pretty much all this film has going for it. skip this 5/10 mess.
Sharpshooter (2007)
what the...
saw this movie on spike last night, action was pretty sub-par and pretty ridiculous (throwing a guy 10 feet when he is on the boat and the main character is fully submerged in water and when he gets shot he doesn't even limp until 20 minutes of running through the forest) i can deal with all of that because the movie obviously was garbage but the ending really bugged me the most. he could have split the money with flick (i think thats his name) but he said no because it wasn't right so then flick tried killing him for 45 minutes. then after flick was no longer a problem he just keeps the money and flies off with the chick that betrayed him. WHAT THE F**K?! i kept thinking "this cant happen, that is totally against the character of the guy" but maybe the writer wasn't creative enough to tie up that loose end in a way that actually made any sense. he was thinking about shooting her but then he decided to fly off to some island and keep the money. if the end was true to the character, he would have at least taken the girl in, turned in the money. the sheriff new he was a good guy so everything would have worked out perfectly.
Dr. Moreau's House of Pain (2004)
i'd rather eat poo
worst movie i ever saw. period. i am not kidding around here. i bought the movie used because i figured a movie with a pig-man on the cover had to be hilariously bad. me and some friends tried watching it but everything about the movie was so terrible we had to turn it off. the acting was poor at best. the characters were morons. (who would have sex with a pig man and expect it to keep a promise of freedom?) the monsters were inconsistent, in one shot it would be covered in slime-garbage and the next it would be dry. i actually had to force myself at a later time to watch the whole thing just to see how bad it was. i actually felt sick after watching this movie which has never before or since happened. this DVD became a thing we would trick people into getting it among me and my friends, i hid it in a big stuffed animal, sewed it back up and gave the stuffed animal to a friend. after awhile he discovered what i had done when i began to hint at it. he tried to get a family member to wrap it up and give it to me for xmas but my brother discovered the plot due to carelessness of my mother so my friend drove past another friends house and threw it on his lawn. it got back to my first friend somehow and he threw it in the trash, right were this movie belongs.
