Halloween Kills (2021)
Tagline: Good Story Writing Dies Tonight
Assuming real movie tagline is "Evil Dies Tonight, since that statement is repeated and chanted so often throughout the film. Had high hopes for a good, suspenseful continuation of the 2018 movie, those hopes were soon dashed. Started off promising, but went completely off the rails into a total gore fest. If I wanted to see 100 people killed in what quickly became boring ridiculous nonsense fight scenes, I would have watched a Friday the 13th or Kung-fu movie. Dumb plot, horrible script. Written for those that like non-stop kill scenes, but not what one would expect from the Halloween franchise. Completely changed how Michael behaved in first and last film. Giving it 3 stars based on production value. Not going to bother with the next one that comes out based on this lame ending.
As Boas Maneiras (2017)
Most drawn out, boring Werewolf movie of all time
Sunk cost. Forced myself to sit through this entire movie after my husband fell asleep during first hour. The pacing was sooooo slow. Kept thinking it HAS to get better and surely the Werewolf will be cool. I LAUGHED so loudly when the baby werewolf finally appeared that I woke up my husband. He left the room when he saw how ridiculous the CGI was. Not sure what direction the Director was trying to go. Soap novella, study on classism, love story, horror, musical. Really, why were there musical interludes inserted at random? Maybe those who like artsy movies will enjoy this, but if you're looking for a scary Werewolf movie, take a pass on this one. Snooze fest.
