Twin Peaks: Beyond Life and Death (1991)
Season 2, Episode 22
Twin Peaks Finale
6 July 2006
I agree. this last episode of the series was something of legend. I was in 7th grade and remembering the last episode was on a random night due to low ratings. But lynch unleashed his most vivid imagery of nightmares and madness. It was non-stop, especially when Cooper goes into the ring of trees. No one comes close to Lynch in un ervi ng the viewer through use of music, imagery and sound. Thus, I watch all Lynch movies during the day in a bright room. I have only seen the last twin peaks episode once but like the above poster it is etched in my memory and I'm ready to pull the trigger on the collection that will include all the episodes later this year, I believe.

Batman Begins (2005)
Nolan's flick is great, but Burton's is being forgotten
16 June 2005
I saw Batman Begins last night and i thought it was incredible. Nolan nailed it. He very confidently made the whole Batman mythology very serious and at the same very cool stylistically (sp). I thought it was a great idea to have such a strong supporting cast (how many Oscar nominess do we have here??), Bale is perfect (the scene with the models at the hotel lobby was classic), as well as the training scenes in Asia and how Gotham is shown. However, people seem to forget how good Burton's 1989 Batman was. It was a box-office sensation (merchandise frenzy and a half)but at the same time the whole feel to it was unique and worked very well. Nicholson obviously stole the show but Burton also captured the perfect balance of the exaggerated nature of comics while keeping it grounded in reality. It sad to see that Schumacher screwed up the franchise so bad that I think Burton's film has become an afterthought.
