The Devil and Father Amorth (2017)
I lasted to when the "demon" appeared - save your time, don't even bother!
So look... I was raised Roman Catholic, and now a big ol' atheist, but something about demons still freaks me out a bit, always has, probably always will. I was after something creepy and thriller-y. And this happened to pop up.
A bit sensational at the beginning, I could forgive that (seemed more like a decent school-made than by the director of The Exorcist, but hey ho), but thought I'd give it a go.
I lasted 20 minutes.
I didn't get the creepy sorry.
What I got instead was fizzy drink coming out of my nose when I laughed so hard at the "demonic" voice. My grandmother with a spatula was scarier.
Don't waste your time.
See? I just saved you over an hour of your life.
You're welcome.
Blood Fest (2018)
Fantastic premise, messy at times (and not in the way we wanted)
I went into watching this expecting The Purge crossed with Cabin in the Woods, with the classic humour and twists that Rooster Teeth has delivered up to now with Lazer Team 1 and 2.
It wasn't not enjoyable, don't get me wrong, some of the tropes were funny and offered a laugh out loud moment, but others were just cringe-worthy, and not in the way we wanted.
Some of the effects were clunky, with some of the acting even clunkier.
They had an idea, and ran with it, but feel that they stumbled and possibly left limbs around, and should have stopped and regrouped.
Alright, but not a reflection of what everyone involved is capable of.
