Wow, just awful...
14 February 2009
This movie was so awful that, at least to me, it was good. It was just hilarious. If you watched the old Friday the 13th movies to poke fun at them, then you'll probably get a good chuckle out of this.

The funniest part of the film is that they tried to make it scary, but it wasn't. Just a bunch of cheap scares really. There really isn't anything creative about the movie, it's just teenagers having sex and dying which, if you like Friday the 13th, should be no surprise.

There's no way to spoil this movie. It is exactly the same as the other ones and I truly find it funny that they tried to make it good. Plus, if you don't laugh during the movie, you have no sense of humor.

Wonderful

This is one of my favorite movies by far. It is a very original story and one that is hard to get tired of.

It manages to keep a light and humorous mood while still creating a dramatic setting and it will keep you entertained throughout.

The biggest problem with this movie is that Will Ferrell proved that he can act. I mean, he is fantastic. I don't know that I can watch him in these goof ball roles anymore.

It has so many scenes that I watch over and over again and I can't find another word to describe it except for "Wonderful" See it, you'll be glad you did.

Terrible in every way imaginable
12 March 2008
If this movie doesn't find its way into the bottom 100 I would be shocked. It was unbelievably bad. I can't believe this got the green light and Arrested Development got canceled.

I wanted to gouge my eyes out and rip out my ear drums as this movie was on.

I saw this movie at a press screening for my school newspaper and I am now going to kill my editor. She must have been mad at me or something. It was a free ticket and I still want my money back.

WOW. What a piece of trash. I have contemplated suicide only once in my life, and it was while watching this movie.

This is basically "You Got Served" if it was kick-boxing instead of dancing.

Why did I see this. 10,000 BC and this in two consecutive days. What is the world coming too? Somebody please throw me a good film to watch. I am still vomiting blood from watching this trash. I would pay somebody not to see it. Please let me give it less than a 1. Why can't I give it a negative 1,000,000? Wow this was a horrible film. 1 is way too high of a rating. The best part of this movie was when it ended and the torture was over, but then I had to accept the fact that I had just watched it.

Don't see it. Watch some intelligent films if you can find any. What was I thinking? I am going to go drown myself. What a piece of trash.

Flat out bad....
16 September 2006
I was so excited to see this movie, but when it ended, I was at a whole new level of angry. The film threw so much pointless junk at you, that it was hard to follow the movie. The film is supposed to be about the death of Elizebeth Shore. Unfortunately, they actually focus very little on that topic.

There are about 100 other things happening during the film, and 99 of them are irrelevant. I mean, the writing is terrible. This is another one of those films where third party, completely random characters become the culprits, and defeat the purpose of getting to know the main characters in the first place.

The positive things that I can say is that they do sort of tie some things together at the end (although the results will only serve to tick most people off). Hartnett does do a good job, and the film is visually fun to watch.

Aside from those things, it was bad. Don't see it. Save your money for Hollywoodland.

Excellent
28 June 2006
I'm a huge Superman fan, and I have to say, this movie was awesome. Whoever cast Kevin Spacey for Lex Luther should get a cookie. A really big cookie. He was an excellent villain. Routhe is a surprisingly good Superman, and all the other roles are well filled too. I wasn't a big fan of some of the decisions when I saw them on paper, but I have to say I was pleased with the performances.

This movie had everything. It was funny, had edge of your seat excitement, great character development, it was great. BTW, Routhe kinda sounds like Reeves at some points.

If you don't like this movie, you're either a superman hater or a film hater. It was awesome. See it. 10/10

Good, but still disappointing
29 May 2006
First of all, let me say that X3 was a great action film. If you want to have a great time at the movies, this is a fun film to watch. However, as a fan of X-Men and the film trilogy, there were some problems with the film.

There are a lot of characters that are undeveloped. It's not such a problem with the one's we already know, but it is for the one's that we don't. There's also unneeded information for certain characters that aren't really in the movie. Certain characters play big roles, but we don't get to know them. Others have minor roles, and the info is meaningless. For instance, a character is introduced in the prologue to the movie, but is barely seen in the remainder of the film. The movie was way too short. It seems like everyone's in a hurry throughout the film. If it had been 2 and a half hours, it would have been able to develop all of the characters, and the back stories would have been more relevant to certain characters. The movie is action packed and fun, but it really doesn't draw you into it the way the first two did, say for a couple of scenes.

Overall, it was worth seeing on the big screen, and I'm glad that I saw it. It is a good film. But again, you'll be a little disappointed as an X-Men fan. 7/10.

One final thing, stay after the credits for the final scene. It seems nobody saw the entire movie.

Pulp Fiction (1994)

The best film in history
3 October 2005
Pulp Fiction is undoubtedly the best film that I have ever seen. The movie will have you reciting quotes from the movies for a long time. The film is cleverly broken into 4 interlocked tales, and the time line is broken apart, and re-arranged. The chemistry between the cast members is obvious, and the film profits from that. Tarantino invents stories that only he could have thought up. The film does not center around one character, but rather, around the events of the movie. It presents a lot of dark comedy, and uses symbolism to add to the dramatic effect of the film. Finally, the dialog is fantastic. The characters debate semantics throughout the film, and you will be laughing long after each debate, and you'll be memorizing the dialog before long. Bottomline, A+++++++; 11/10; 1,000 stars. It is the best film in history.

Lord of War (2005)

An outstanding film. It's Forest Gump with Guns!
25 September 2005
I saw the latest showing of this film, and I have to say that it was well worth it. Nicolas Cage has you routing for him, and against him throughout the film. You side with Ethan Hauke, but you don't really like him. Now, one of the best supporting performances of the year is Jared Leto's portrayal of Vitaly. Leto is very talented. He breaks away from his rising band 30 Seconds to Mars and delivers a fantastic performance as Cage's loyal little brother. The characters are involved in actual events in a fictitious manner, much the way Tom Hanks was involved in Forest Gump. It is funny, and yet also has its tragic moments, and most of what I didn't like about the movie was birthed from an emotional response to the story. Bottomline, SEE THIS MOVIE! 9/10 Grade A+
