The Wire (2002)
The best TV show ever
I just finished the last season of this jewel. I am still in awe. Didn't thought that a TV drama could go so deep in the problems that affect our modern societies. The scope is huge, the acting is amazing, scrip and direction faultless. What can I see this story will haunt me for ever. The streets of Baltimore are a microcosm of the problems that particularly affect contemporary urban societies in the United States but can be extrapolated to every big city: education, police ,drugs, the media, justice, politics,...... Filmed in a "verite" style, it's like being inside the story and not looking it from outside as a passive spectator. It ain't get more real than that.....
Darwin's Nightmare (2004)
A demolishing view of globalization consequences
When the doc-movie was over people stayed in their seats for minutes in total silence. It's a hard movie that will shake your mind and heart in a terrible way. poverty, diseases, abuse, and a hopeless future. African people just don't deserve this present and future .....a story that happens now in too many places in the world were social structures are falling apart because of the international globalization of economics, were the rich get richer and the poor get poorer if that is even possible.....
sad sad movie but anyone that want to keep his eyes open what is happening in the world should see.
