Gannibal (2022)
The ending left me unfulfilled
The story is unique but then the pacing of the series makes it dull sometimes. At one point I thought the climax was coming but then the buildup stopped all of a sudden, leaving me with confusion and immense disappointment.
The most unacceptable part is the ending. I thought the entire backstory would be revealed at last, but then the series suddenly ended with half of the truth remain concealed. I guess it was done on purpose to leave it for Season 2? Not sure if I would give it another shot if there is another season though.
Acting of the cast is impeccable though. Yagira Yuya was the reason I watched this series and he never disappoints me. Baisho Mitsuko-san, the actress who played Goto Gin, the grandmother, gave me chills down my spine.
The score serves the series really well in heightening tensions and suspense too.
Overall is fine but I really hate it when a series is not ended properly because some people behind it want to make a sequel.
My Moochy Boyfriend (2018)
I WANT MORE OF THIS
Love the chemistry between Masataka-kun and Haruna-chan. This series is sooooo cute and hilarious.
I enjoy taking this rollercoaster ride of seeing first the silly things Sho-chan did that made Yuriko so frustrated, but later he would made up for these stupid mistakes with his luck that were derived from the actions he took out of his love for Yuriko. Although Sho-chan can be a pain-in-the-ass sometimes, but he is still very lovable (due to Masataka-kun's brilliant portrayal?) and his 'advocacy' for a fundamental change in the modern working culture could be an important message to encourage viewers to take their first step forward.
7 episodes for such a funny and cute piece is just not enough. I want more!!!!
Wotaku ni koi wa muzukashii (2020)
I have no idea why this adaption is so underrated
This excellently executed musical is so underrated!! I don't understand why people don't like it. It's like a Japanese comedy version of La La Land. Perfect cast (especially the leads), beautiful music and cinematography, the plot is sweet and heartbreaking at the same time, funny, of course. The pace is just right, unlike many low-pace Japanese movies. I watched it at late night by myself in my tiny comfy room and I just kept screaming whenever Kento & Mitsuki hug and kiss! They are such a cute match. Love them so much! Love the film, the music, everything! I just hope there could be even more romantic scenes coz I just can't get enough!!
