Munich (2005)
Astonishing movie!!!
This movie is based on an incident which happened in the Munich Olympics where Israeli-an athletes were killed by the Black September organization. For taking revenge against the terrorist organization Israel organizes a group of 5 people and then takes a revenge on them. There are some dialogues which support the Palestinians not making them as strong villains. In the group of 5 people each one are from different profession and how will they take revenge on them is the rest of the story. This movie story is simple but lots of complications will be going through it because the person who gives details of the terrorists will be susceptible in nature. The movie has really some strong dialogues and the scenes were real. As the movie is based on true events we will be astonished to know that these are the kind of things which are happening in the real world. No need to tell about Steven Spielberg, the master of film making. This movie is a good movie but a bit lengthy because of the running time.
Body of Lies (2008)
Sheer perfection!!!
Body of lies the title itself tells you the movie is more about lies and it will be dealing around with the lies. How the lies will affect the person and his surrounding. The people in the higher position should tell lots of lies to convince everyone. This movie has remarkable performances from the lead actors. Leonarda as usual he has delivered a great performance. The movie has a lot of facts and they have researched more about the terrorist groups and fabricated properly. Ridley Scott has done a great job in coming with this script and delivering. The screenplay is a bit slow and in the end you will forget about the negatives. If you like dark genre or terrorist related movies this is a must watch movie for those audiences.
Mersal (2017)
A good movie with lots of deja vu feel!!!!
Mersal is a drama/emotional/action movie written by atlee. Vijay has 3 roles and he has done justice to all the roles. While watching the movie you ll encounter lots of dejavu moments from the movies such as apoorva sagathargal, ramana, shivaji and atlee's movie theri.S.J suryah's acting is awesome and he has done a great job. The movie has really some strong scenes which creates a huge impact on us. AR.Rahman's background adds value to the movie and he adds silence wherever it is required not like theri. The movie is lengthy and they could have reduced it a bit to about 2 hours 30 min. Action sequences were a treat to watch, editor and cinematography departments have done a great job. Overall the movie is a one time watchable flick, lots of dialogues were targeted against the government which marks Vijay's entry into politics??!!
The Sixth Sense (1999)
Top Notch!!
I have not seen a film like this in a past decade, full credit should go the director (M. Night Shyamalan) of the movie. Climax will be a treat to watch and 200% you will have goosebumps. Bruce Wills and the child have done very well and the movie has some emotional contents which makes the movie strong in content wise. The director has done proper justice for the genre-drama/mystery, in some parts you ll feel like some horror movie, but it has a very pleasing ending.
Spyder (2017)
A well written script and performances but let down by screenplay
After Kaththi Murugadoss new venture is Spyder, for this movie he took 2 years to complete. Murugadoss has not even compromised for the script and has delivered a good movie. Mahesh Babu has done a perfect job for the film,be it the lip sync(Tamil),his action, his emotions. His character is portrayed in a manner as a socially responsible person. The other good thing about the movie is contribution of normal people to the society and they have been shown as heroes(This is new for a Mahesh Babu movie). SJ Suryah, he has took a correct decision by leaving the direction and choosing acting as his mainstream. His role and his acting skills will be spoken, he has delivered his career best performance. His role has been designed in an excellent way(shades of Joker-Batman). The first half of the film ends on a higher note, but the second half starts in a slower manner and ends abruptly. This movie doesn't engage you fully, but the scenes are written very well. Coming to VFX, this is a spoiler for the film. Some VFX scenes are not good to watch and the VFX is decreasing the quality of the film. They could have spent more for a quality product. But 120 Crores is a huge budget or they could have reduced the VFX scenes. Overall the movie is a one time watchable venture which has all the good elements for a movie.
Baby Driver (2017)
A fast paced stylish movie but some bumps in the middle makes it slower
This movie deals with all commercial elements such as heist, romance, car racing and so on. There are some car racing scenes where people will go crazy for it because it has been shot in an impeccable way. Ansel Elgort(Hero) and Kevin Spacey have done their roles in a convincing manner. You should not expect logic and go for this movie because Jamie Foxx shoots whoever he wants. This movie is driven by pop, jazz musics and if you know the song before in hand you ll enjoy the movie or else it is difficult to relate with them. Overall the movie is fast paced but in the middle some heavier bumps makes the movie a little bit slower.
Arjun Reddy (2017)
A simple story told in a different way!!!
Arjun Reddy from the starting scene tells us that this movie is not going to be a normal travel. Be it the actors looks, attitude, dialogues the movie will go places. Vijay Devarkonda kills the performance and he has perfectly executed the 3 roles in the film. The film dialogues are good it increases the engagement of the movie. The movie is a bit lengthy and they have managed to engage the audience throughout the film but in some places the melodrama becomes very low. The director needs to be appreciated for his way of telling the story and handling of emotions. Supporting cast have done their job perfectly and to sum it up Arjun Reddy is a normal story but told in a different way which will make the audience worth the money.
House of Cards (2013)
Awesome!! One of the best serials I've watched
Kevin Spacey is a top notch actor and whatever he does he makes that count like in the movie usual suspects he played a role of cripple and he nailed it. The series is a political drama and it is more interesting because of the dialogues and a Shakespeare kind of portraying dialogues from his side. The mind games are perfect and the series teaches you something or the other.
Vivegam (2017)
A well cooked meal but not served properly
The movie is directed by Siruthai Siva and the cast include Ajith Kumar as the protagonist in the movie, Kajal Agarwal in the female lead and Vivek Oberoi as the antagonist. The genre of the movie is international spy thriller, where the movie is based upon Slovenia. The Movie starts off with good spirits but later on the movie slows down a bit because of the emotional contents. It is a radical shift for the director because his previous ventures were based in India and did not have a lot of technical stuffs. Kudos to the director for taking the script to the different level, the team has put a lot of effort in creating this script.Dialogues were a pillar support in the movie but some dialogues did not blend properly with the movie. Stunt Sequences were perfectly captured and the movie has a rich viewing experience thanks to the cinematographer Vetri and his team. Anirudh has blasted the background with his music, it blends during emotions as well as in the other parts. Kajal and Vivek Oberoi have done their best in what they can do. Here comes the one man army of the movie Ajith Kumar, he has put his heart, soul everything for the film. Be it the physical transformation, stunt sequences he gave his 100% for the role. We can see a lot of hard work that he has put in the movie. A one time watchable movie where you can feel a transformed Ajith not only physically but in different aspects. Lets list down the pros and cons of the movie
Pros: Ajith Kumar, Editing, Cinematography, Dialogues, Technology
Cons: Emotional content, Screenplay(2nd Half), Some Dialogues, Voice overs for foreigners.
