West Side Story (2021)
Masterpiece
What an absolute masterpiece. And Spielberg proves once again what a genius director he is. I believe people who disagree don't know and like movies or music as much as they think they do. All I can say is thank you to all involved in making this movie possible.
Red Notice (2021)
Fun action comedy
I can't believe some people actually gave this a bad review because a few things in the plot weren't believable or realistic. Do you say the same about Indiana Jones movies or Lord of the Rings or Marvel or Star Wars? This is the whole POINT! I loved this first of all because it doesn't take itself seriously and is obviously meant to be sheer entertainment, which it is! Plus, in case you don't understand that, the story and the dialogue keep dropping hints about how the whole thing is a tribute to movie entertainment from the past. I won't list them here but you can tell the writers had a ball writing this stuff. It's almost like a catalogue of movie tropes wrapped in comedy and parody almost, but done in such a way that we're in on the joke, which I found very respectful of the viewers, unlike some people seemed to imply. I laughed quite a few times, never at the movie but with the movie, which seemed to be laughing with me. The movie worked for me from beginning to end, I instantly knew what this was going to be like and wasn't disappointed. Kudos and thank you to anyone involved in making this. Come on folks, relax and be entertained.
Totems (2021)
Great so far !
What ? Three weeks in and no review yet ? I'll be the first then. I am absolutely loving this show, the subject, the time period, the story, the history, the characters, the excellent international cast, the whole production. I saw this is made by the same people who made acclaimed series The Bureau (Le bureau des légendes) which I'm dying to see ! Those people are obviously talented! My only gripe : I have to wait for a week to see each new episode! I hope I can see the end before WW3...

Snowpiercer (2020)
A fantastic series. Don't miss it.
I just don't understand some reviews. And I'm mad at myself for believing the negative reviews and not watching this at first. Then someone told me they enjoyed it, so I decided to give it a go. I've watched both seasons, I hope the 3rd one is coming soon! The more I watched, the more I was into it! The story, the characters, the acting, the suspense, but also the subtext, the allegory, the depth of it all. There's a lot going on, and it's always changing, never boring, and always falling into place. Every character, every twist and turn in the plot, every line is there for a reason. Every episode is different and moves the story along and its going somewhere! There are no fillers here, like in some shows where you feel some episodes are just there because they need to drag the series out. Here every episode, in fact every little thing has a purpose. And you feel you're on that train with everybody. Also the characters EVOLVE, they learn and change, the alliances change sometimes. I mean, it's wonderfully orchestrated. Plus the visuals are great. Plus it makes you think. It's political and philosophical. I was totally engrossed by the whole thing. And the actors were great! I had a great time watching this and I hope more is coming.
Hunters (2020)
Loved this!
This show is constantly surprising and engrossing. I loved it. It's inventive too, it's almost as if it created its own genre while borrowing from other genres, from comic books to serious drama. People watch movies and shows with expectations and are disappointed when their expectations aren't met. That's not how it works, folks. You have to go along with what the creators wanted to do and open your mind. If you do that in this case, prepare to be surprised and entertained and moved and thrilled! I loved this 100% from beginning to the last second. Great job and well done all involved in making this very original and powerful show.
