Great Movie
22 April 2024
I must have watched "The Paper Chase" several dozen times over the years, and it never fails to entertain me. Part of my attraction to this flick is that I was in graduate school in the early 70s, the time period when this story is set...so it brings back nostalgic memories for me. My experience in graduate school in many ways parallels Hart's in law school. The portrayals here are spot-on for the types of characters one encounters in such situations. The acting is great, the conflicts genuine and the actors are perfect for their roles. I highly recommend "The Paper Chase" to anyone planning to attend law school or any graduate program.

Really Scary
1 July 2020
I recall watching "Inner Sanctum" as a kid...I was nine or ten. I would sit in front of the TV in a chair with my hands over my eyes so that I wouldn't see the scariest scenes. I would take only occasional peeks through the gaps between my fingers. The creaking door intro to each episode and the accompanying funereal narration, including organ music, were truly terrifying. I knew watching this show would cause nightmares, but I was inexplicably drawn to it. I don't remember the storyline for any of the episodes, but I still think this series was one of the most frightening on '50s black-and-white TV.

Loved It
5 December 2019
This is one of my favorite Voyager episodes. No, it's not the kind of plot one would expect in a Star Trek series. But that is one of the reasons I like it. What a refreshing change and what an interesting insight into Captain Janeway! The Irish setting surely helps as I've always loved Ireland. I spent a glorious week there several years ago. And, if you think about it, nothing could be more quintessentially sci-fi than an episode set on the holodeck!

The Quintessential Lucy Episode
27 April 2019
If you watch only ONE episode of "I Love Lucy" your whole life, this is the one to see. This episode by itself justifies Lucille Ball's ranking as the absolute best comedic actress of early television. I have seen this episode probably a hundred times since it was first broadcast, and it never fails to send me into hysterics. I don't recall whether I saw it's first screening, but I suspect I did. I have this episode on videotape and on DVD, so every once in a while I dust it off and spend about half an hour laughing my head off for the umpteenth time. I even have a "Vitametavegemin" ornament for my Christmas tree. It's a DEFINITE 10/10.
