Più buio di mezzanotte (2014)
interesting plot point but goes nowhere
While the plot of the movie is interesting nothing really develops out of it, having watched from start to finish I will say that there's something there that could and should be expanded on.
The beginning starts off nicely and sets the stage for the story of the movie but there's really character development aside from the main character has made friends, I will say that the end of the movie where the main character stabs themself in the neck with some glass and then wakes up in the Hospital should have ended with the main character waking up to see their father sitting by their bed and then followed by dialogue of their father telling them that he accepts them for who they are then the movie ends with the main character hugging their father. Though it didn't end that way the main character just wakes up looks in the mirror there's no audio just a silent scream then the movie fades to black there's no real resolution to it.
Cuernavaca (2017)
not sure why this movie is in the LGBTQ genre
While I like the movie and how it was filmed I have no idea why it's placed in with other LGBTQ movies like the main character who's a young boy doesn't seem to be figuring out his sexuality or gender because all I get from the film is that he like to wear a superhero cape which isn't a sign of being LGBTQ maybe he just likes superheroes or he feels insecure so wearing makes him feel comfortable.
Though I will compliment that art house style of the film in general because while there's not much dialogue the shots are beautiful and worthy of praise. Though the film could use a bit more dialogue.
Love Is All You Need? (2016)
Good, but not Great
While I like the film and the short I feel like the director should have made it a two part movie with the first part being set in the 90's and then the second part being set in the early/late 2000's with the actors from part one taking on roles in part to as parents, teachers, and coaches in part two. I'm not a fan of splitting movies into two parts, but this movie felt like it was two different movies set in the same universe. I also have to agree with other reviewers when they said that the universe that was set up was inconsistent as they had the girls playing football, but they had male coaches and male announcers which should have been made female it's just a minor detail, but it would have made the universe seem more realistic with girls playing sports it would be them who would have more knowledge what's going on during the game. I would have taken it one step further by having none of my female cast wearing skirts or dresses as they would be seen as boy's clothes.
The movie is good and I do recommend it.
