Beutifully filmed, full of premonitory details. Love it.
In 2002 this movie still has a bit of the late 80s erotica combined with a more 90s rawness of the sex scenes. There is great merit in filming sex scenes that start with a perfectly paced building of emotional tension.
I dislike the plot shifting with the homicide scene, because such an event is so unlikely... and from then on it's like a different movie sparing the viewer from Connie's drama between rediscovering her own sexuality or saving her marriage and family. I have never been a fan of Richard Gere and the shifting of the focus to him really disrupts the interesting part of the movie for me. And of course it takes Olivier Martinez away from the viewer (wich is just terrible!)
