Thor: The Dark World (2013)
A Copycat Movie
They have 3 long scenes that are 85%-100% copied from other films and I am surprised not many people aware of this: 1. Natalie Portman found an abandoned building where some kids playing with mystical portals >>> Copy from "Beyond", the mini story in The Animatrix (2003 Animated backstory of Martix). It has a highly similar scene and concept.
2. Dark Elves' s spaceship clashes into the palace of Ascard to assault >>> 99% similar animated scenes you can find on the trailer of star Wars videos game, The Old Republic(2011), which Siths' s spaceship clashes into Jedi's Temple to assault.
3. The ending battle scene which Thor and Malekith fighting in different spaces thru portals >>> Apparently copied from the fighting scene of Jumper(2008).
The Pill (2011)
Pretty Well for a Low-Budgeted Film
Im really surprised the IMDb rating for this movie is so low! Im so sure this movie would have been a big commercial success if the casts were all changed into some Hollywood big stars. I would say this movie is tied with "No Strings Attached" but has definitely beat "Friends with Benefits".
The storyline is pretty simple but I do like how the writer/director is capable of catching those small things and moments of a relationship and delivering them smoothly. But sadly the dynamic between both leading characters is not strong enough. For this part, in comparison, Aston Kutcher and Natale Portman in "No Strings" have way better gravity.
Both actresses, Rachel Boston and Anna Chlumsky, are hot enough and I must mention that the performance of Rachel Boston in this film is way better than how she does in Witches of East End. She deserves more than just acting in those lousy teenage drama shows.
About Time (2013)
Every Time Traveler loves her - Rachel McAdams
If you expect About Time is another romantic time traveling movie starring Rachel McAdams after Time Traveler's Wife and Midnight in Paris, you are dead wrong.
If you expect About Time is another Notting Hill or Love Actually that directed by Richard Curtis, you are also dead wrong.
The truth is the main theme of this movie is not about romance but discussing the meaning of living. So if you are looking for a movie with full of tearful and touching scenes that you can watch with your boyfriend/husband in bed romantically, this is not your choice.
The movie actually is not bad and I do like it. But the lines are not so clever/humorous comparing with others directed/written by Richard. Also I think the performance of Rachel McAdams is quite limited by her role. I feel this is such a waste for this big time romantic movie star to be nothing more than just a sweet and caring gf/wife. Her character is capable of being something more bigger and more complicated. And that would be something audiences would love to see.
