The Butterfly Effect (2004)
What is the connection with the title
I've been putting off seeing this movie for so long because I kind of figured from the trailer that the title doesn't really seem to fit.
I was right. What the...
The butterfly effect comes from chaos theory, in physics. And the consequences of that effect hace absolutely nothing to do with the plot of the movie, which is mostly some weird time travel idea. And it simply cannot be connected to the butterfly effect. Of course, if you go back in time and stop someone from being killed, the future will look totally different. But the butterfly effect refers to a small change you do in the present (cause) in order to (*maybe*) observe a huge effect somewhere else (linked to the initial cause, of course).
It just makes no sense...
Brave New World (2020)
They kept the names...
I loved the background scenery of the show. It really looks as what I would imagine a futuristic city to look like in a SF movie.
Apart from that, at least they kept the names. I'm not that mad about the plot. It seems a bit more dynamic than the book and I understand that some of the changes might have been needed to attract more people, not just the readers of the book.
However, my issue comes from all this political nonsense and feminism activism. They have turned some male characters into female, and they have made Bernard, basically, an idiot, while Lenina--the female, was able to act quickly, save the day, and even emphatize with the people she was conditioned to look down upon.
Holluwood, could you just stop the activism? It's getting really idiotic.
