Wednesday (2022)
Good fun
I likes this a lot. It's like other reviews say; it's a bit of a teenage movie with a bit of Addams family.. sure there are plot holes, sure there are 'convenient truths' to some thing, but on the whole it was humorous, entertaining and made me want more episodes.. and that's all a series needs to do.. looks good, nice music score and enough fun to be entertaining without losing a story in line with the Addams story. They missed a bit from my view on Gomez, but other than that I can't wait for season two to come around for, if nothing else, a few entertaining hours of content. It was good enough for me to write a review, that makes it one to remember..
Thor: Love and Thunder (2022)
Guns n Roses at a funeral
God dammit.. this story could be one of the best Marvel stories..
the villain might be one of the best in MCU..
Looks amazing, effects are cool, soundscape is pretty good.. but..
the cheap jokes, overly used comic relief from rock boy and over the top god meeting just make this derivative slapstick.. like GnR af a funeral.. both impressive, but not when combined.. o, and it's good to know Thor can just share his powers temporarily.. that could have helped.. save f...ing Asgard..
Nice to see the guardians are still alive, but they had no part in this movie.. at best, they we expensive backstory that helped please fans, but the movie would not have been any different without that intro..
Interceptor (2022)
Started entertaining, ended unbelievable
Ok action flick until it all went boobs up.. using personal laptops to fire missiles when nobody else can, defying gravity, just unreal.. it was entertaining, but then it got cookie..
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022)
Waste of potential..
Marvel movies were once the standard for great stories, well developed characters and story lines over decades that kept combining, linking and growing.. sadly Disney dropped that. This movie is much more bland to the point where Wanda could have been a random baddy and America (why ffs?) is little better. It's an ok movie, but not worthy of the Avengers legacy..
Gasoline Alley (2022)
Sin city vibe, sesame street execution
Bruce is in it for the namedropping only. It has that slow, gripping vibe of sin city (and other movies like it) but without the script to back that style up. Sadly, as it could have been better with some attention to screenplay and storyline.
Free Guy (2021)
Unexpected surprise!
Truman Show 2021! With better humor! Back story is a little thin, but Reynolds kills it and all the references to other movies is fun! Really is Truman Show with a worthy successor to Jim Carrey.
21 Bridges (2019)
Not bad if it wasn't for reality mistakes..
Not a bad film, but the movie mistakes ruin it.. bullets, steel, people and cars change density and effectiveness, bank sized safes are built into industrial lofts and much more.. entertaining enough, but could have been a lot better with a critical check before release..
F9 (2021)
Wayyyyyy over the edge
You know what.. I'll forgive the stuff that is highly unlikely (like finding american muscle cars all over the globe and the tokio drift guys living in Germany).. I'll forgive the improbable like english girls being scared of a righthand drive car in scotland and driving a van like an epileptic.. but when gravity and such start being optional, that's where it stops.. I gave it 1 star for the workaround on Brian and 1 for the soundtrack composer..
Cinderella (2021)
Can't hate it.. can't love it..
It is what it is. Not great, but it is a modern live version of the story. Too bad to love, to good to turn off..
SAS: Red Notice (2021)
Didn't mind Ruby, the other stuff though..
Story is ok on paper.. but the movie is full of problems, mediocre acting and lack of depth and/or realismxx.
Greenland (2020)
Must be a US thing, sucked for me.
Tell a 5 minute fake story in 2 hours.. riddle it with movie and life errors and slam it with bad dialogue and uncredible interactions.. tadaa, Greenland..
The Kitchen (2019)
Not a comedy, still not bad
Yes it is atypical. Yes, it is mob in 1987.. no it's not a comedy. But it is an entertaining flick with some fun, some ehww and some bs. But I've seen a lot worse..
The Foreigner (2017)
Not the best ever, good nontheless!
It kept me watching the whole time, that is enough to be above average. Is it perfect? Nope.. is it good, sure. Nice work by Jackie Chan and old James Bond..
The Irishman (2019)
Pretty ok, long and overworked though
The story is good, the length helps with the lingering issues. Liked that, but..
The frigging CGI screwing up all these great actors is seriously screwing me up.. or better, pissing me off. Don't make them look 20, it kills the characters!
Annihilation (2018)
Great idea.. not a great movie
Concept/ general idea is actually pretty good, but the movie is not. Acting is ok, it's the other stuff like doing night watch in the dark with a light on... or things evolving good or bad as suits the movie.. would love to see the story done over, better as the idea is scaringly good..
Avengers: Endgame (2019)
The big finale
I need to be honest.. I love the Marvel universe, but this isn't the best movie. On its own, I'd never rate it this high, but as a part, or end, of the current universe it is ace.
Mind blown, total overload and yet it manages from big to small, going from all to one hero in a way that works.
Baywatch (2017)
For old times sake.. and bathing suits
Finally could not get out of watching this.. for nostalgia sake.. 4/10 is generous and only for the innuendo and gags, the movie should get less.. entertaining screen filler at best..
Bird Box (2018)
No.. just no
Postive first: looks good, acting fine. Cast on point!
Not so positive: The story/ book might be good, but come on..the film story has holes big enough to drive a car through (like the 'things' everybody sees all of a sudden are invisible and seems to appear when you tear covers off windows or drive...). Haven't read the book and not comparing to other movies, this was just annoying as hell to me.. so much so, I have registered 1400 movies here and this is my first review...
