Dead Space (2023 Video Game)
10/10
Best Video Game Remake Since Resident Evil 2
31 January 2023
I'm a HUGE fan of horror games, so when I heard about the Dead Space remake coming out, I was ready to get my hands on it. I patiently waited and managed to get a PS5, with God of War Ragnarök being my first game to beat. When Dead Space finally released a few days ago, I bought it right away and waited for the install.

This game is scary, people, and the combat can be challenging at times, depending on what difficulty you're playing on. I'm at normal right now and enemies still do a good number on you early on in the game. Your weapons don't do a ton of damage to start off with because you have to find upgrade nodes throughout the ship. Speaking of the ship, the entire setting of the game is beautiful. Lights flicker, steam hisses, and all the rooms are so detailed that you can use almost anything in a room as a weapon as soon as you have the ability.

The enemies are terrifying and unique. There will be points where you'll face two of the same enemies, but their behavior can be different. One will be slow and loud while the other is fast and quiet. It's very terrifying.

I put around 120 hours into the Resident Evil 2 remake and loved how much had been added to the game. Likewise, Dead Space is a remake of a classic game, but introduces new content that appeals to both newcomers and veteran fans of the series.

I give this a 10/10 and will probably be spending most of my time on this until Hogwarts Legacy. Whenever me timbers need a good shiver, I'll most likely return to this game for another round aboard the Ishimura.

God of War Ragnarök (2022 Video Game)

God of War Ragnarök
10 November 2022
A fantastic and strong continuation of its predecessor, God of War Ragnarök is not afraid to take unexpected turns, or slow its pace for you to fully explore an environment. It has the same upgrading system as before, but with better armor, in my opinion. Atreus is a little bit older now and it's so great to see everybody reprise their magnificent roles.

I don't want to give away too much in this review, but it's definitely worth buying. One of the best looking games on PS5. It'll definitely be a game of the year contender with Elden Ring. If you're new to the series, I recommend you start with God of War (2018) If you have the dedication, you could always start from the very first one. They're all on the PS+ collection. I still have yet to beat this newest entry, but I wanted to spread the good word as soon as possible: Ragnarök is here and it is beautiful.

Predictable and way too long
13 June 2022
At 2 hours and 26 minutes, this marks the longest movie in the Jurassic series. May he Rest In Peace, but it's probably good that Michael Crichton wasn't alive to see this abomination of a film. The only reason I'm even giving an extra star is because the dinosaurs looked good and some of the cinematography was on point, but my god this was unbearable to watch.

My biggest problem with this film is how predictable the story was and how shallow of a character its antagonist was. Nothing against Campbell Scott, I'm sure he's a swell guy, but watching him play this character was like watching a lifeless Dave Wallace from The Office. He had no depth, no angle, and every choice he made could be seen from 100 miles away.

Another reason I couldn't stand this movie was how many times Chris Pratt got everyone out of trouble by putting his hand up to the dinosaurs. I can't tell you how badly I wanted him to try it just to have one of them take a couple fingers off. It might've added some excitement to the movie.

I really wish I could keep going and tell you about how bad the whole thing was; but since I fell asleep for fifteen minutes of the movie, I guess it wouldn't be very honest of me to say I saw the entire thing. This is supposed to be the last movie of the series, so I was expecting some crazy things to be happening. I wanted to see dinosaurs fighting in the city, knocking into buildings, and stepping on cars. Instead, we were served a recycled plot with generic action and storytelling.

Give me a job, Universal, and I'll write a better script with my eyes closed. Or go outside your doors and find the nearest crackhead because I'd guarantee you 100% they could write a better movie, too.

It Has All "Built" to This
10 April 2022
The year is 2005 and I have been invited last minute to my kid neighbor's birthday party. My old man and I run to Walmart to try and find anything a 7 year old kid might love and what do we find but Lego Star Wars: The Video Game; the hit game that's been out for less than a month. I begged him to buy it because I knew it would be the best gift at the party and since it was a sleepover, this game would surely give us the adrenaline we needed to survive the night.

This is a fond memory rooted in my childhood and I spent many of my adolescent years enjoying the Lego entries; my top two being Star Wars saga and Harry Potter 1-4. Now, in my possession, are all 9 games of the Star Wars series remade to perfection.

There's so much to talk about that I could honestly write out an essay of why this game is amazing, so all I'll say is this: If you have any gut feelings about buying this game, buy it. The delay was worth it and it's worth every cent of its price. I'm now 23 years old and my entire Friday at work consisted of me being excited to go home and play this game. I haven't shaved, showered, and I'm surviving on chicken noodle soup and hard boiled eggs. Life is good. Get this game.

Bioshock: The Collection (2016 Video Game)
10/10
All the Bells and Whistles
11 March 2022
This fantastic collection contains three games and all of their DLC's. This collection also often goes on sale; I've seen it as low $9.99 USD. In my opinion, the Bioshock trilogy is one of the greatest and most unique entries in video game storytelling. So much love was put into developing these games and they deserve to be played. It's one of those games where you can put the controller down at any point, stare at your screen, and admire whatever you're looking at.

I'd also like to refer a book for those who have played Bioshock 1 & 2. The book is called Rapture, by John Oliver. It's one of my favorite books and manages to make the experience of exploring Rapture even more exciting.

I hope this is the beginning of a beautiful gaming experience for all of you and hope to be back for Bioshock 4!

Assassin's Creed: Origins (2017 Video Game)
9/10
As Far as 2022, This Still Takes the Cake
6 March 2022
Hello, people of IMDb! Longtime Assassin's Creed fan here; I've beaten all of the games more times than I can remember playing and Origins is still the most immersive and best Assassin's Creed yet. While I personally believe that Assassin's Creed 2 & 3 have the best stories, the exploration in Origins can't compare with other entries. I still love how Valhalla tried to make the exploration different from the rest of the entries and while I agree that the ? In Origins and Odyssey were greatly overwhelming during during exploration, I still had more fun playing Origins more than any of their other entries. I'd also like to add that the DLC "Curse of the Pharaohs" is also a necessity when playing this game. The Hidden Ones isn't terrible, but it certainly doesn't hold up to the base game and DLC continuation. Good luck, Medjays!

Not the greatest movie; but also not the worst, as some of you are making it out to be.
20 August 2021
This is, by no means, a life changing cinematic experience that will have you reveling in the mysteries of the universe and yourself. This is a film about a young man's journey and his experience of life beyond castle walls; every relationship he has within the kingdom is paralleled in some way on his quest.

I'm surprised by all the hate this film is getting. I understand the ending was quite unexpected and that the film deters a bit from its source material. This is not a perfect a film. It was, in my opinion, a decent movie focused on the journey to the end, rather than the ending itself. 7/10. Not great, but definitely not as bad it could've been.

Mass Effect: Legendary Edition (2021 Video Game)
10/10
I'm Commander Shepard and this is my favorite game collection on the Citadel!
13 July 2021
I was a young boy who had never played the Mass Effect trilogy. I tried to play the first one and like a fool I grew impatient with the controls and ordained it an obsolete game. Cut to a month ago when I bought this collection and decided to indoctrinate myself into the Mass Effect lore. This game gave me chest hair and turned my water into hard whiskey.

If you've never played these games, please don't sleep on them. If you're looking for a game to sit down and spend hour upon hours playing, look no further. Some of the finest sci-fi to ever be made. Also bonus point because of Miranda.

Resident Evil Village (2021 Video Game)

Lady Dimitrescu: The Ethan Winters(oldier)
7 May 2021
After a nice trip to hell (Louisiana), we find ourselves back into the boots of Ethan Winters, survivor extraordinaire. There's a nice recap for Biohazard and then the story starts off. I'm currently playing the game on an Xbox One X and it looks absolutely stunning. The village itself is a treat to wander through, with Castle Dimitrescu lurking on the snowy horizon. What really impressed me, both with Biohazard and Village, is the detail in indoor settings. Everything, from the decorations, to lighting and furniture, is beautiful when you're wandering the castle. The underground chasms of the castle are just as much fun to explore.

There was mild concern, on my part, that this game wouldn't be scary. Boy, was I wrong. I've scared people and pets in my house from yelling out of terror. Sometimes it'll be a jump scare and sometimes it'll be a hot 9'6" vampire chasing and calling your name. Either way, your palms will sweat and you'll yell for Ethan to hurry as you're pursued by scary enemies.

This game is a great addition to the Resident Evil series and as a longtime fan, I'm so happy. I hope the team at Capcom are kicking their feet on their desks and drinking Bloody Mary. Thank you for another great game!
