Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments (2016)
People are being too ridiculous and harsh.
I enjoyed the pilot, despite the changes I really liked the pilot. So many other people are complaining about changes made to the TV show but guess what? They said ahead that there were going to be changes so many other people should have anticipated these changes. And apparently they did not, even though they claim otherwise. Yes, spoiler alert, they did change Clary's age, Luke's occupation and other minor stuff like that. Plus they have to make changes to appeal to everybody, not just book readers which I am. So really most of the changes are small, it's still following the same storyline so I think people need to chill out and realize that there were going to be changes anyway. And people are also complaining about the acting. Look, I'll be the first to admit that no one is going to win any Oscars or golden globes here but let's remember that about 60% of the cast is not very experienced. They are extremely new actors and it does show but I would not call it horrible, maybe shaky at some parts but overall I thought it was decent and I've seen much worse before believe me. And now for my final complaint: the ignorant people that are comparing this to twilight, calling it another twilight, and someone even saying that it was twilight fan fiction??? First of all TMI is WAY different from twilight, don't know where these certain people are getting that from. Second of all, I believe that TMI is WAY better than freaking Twilight. What, it's similar because it has romance in it and because there are vampires in it? Oh okay so every book, movie, or TV show that has romance and vampires is a twilight ripoff right? Get out of here with that. The vampires here DO NOT sparkle, in fact they burn if the sun touches them, and the romance? It's way more fleshed out and way more organic that the twilight romance, I can tell you that. So really I think people need to calm down and accept the changes. Plus, this is a pilot people, pilots are not always the best, sometimes they aren't very good and even though I thought the pilot was decent that still may have been the case here. Give the show a shot, don't just give up after the first episode because it could very well get better as the actors will have time to grow into their characters and maybe all of the people moaning and complaining will adapt to the changes. Believe me I HATE when I read a book that I really like and the adaption is no where near like the book but I don't feel like they changed so much here to warrant so much complaining.
Ungodly Acts (2015)
Not great but for an LMN movie, pretty good.
LMN movies are usually on the T.V. because my mom watches a lot of them so I often find myself involuntarily listening or even watching them. Most of the time these movies are terribly mediocre and have the same types of plots over and over again. Either it's about a kidnapping, a crime/murder, or a stupid high school drama that ends up turning into something more serious. However this movie has a different type of storyline and plot altogether and it's really refreshing. This movie shows just how dangerous and manipulative religious cults or any type of cult can be. The acting isn't perfect but I feel like it's pretty decent for a LMN movie. The movie also deals with homosexuality, abuse, and religious fanaticism and can be quite dark at times so be warned about that as well. Overall I feel that this is a cut above your average LMN movie and it's a not a bad one either.
Divergent (2014)
Underrated movie based on great books
I think the reason that the critics were so harsh on this film and why some people on here don't like it is because they take Divergent and compare it so much to The Hunger Games and purposefully try to point out the similarities between them and criticize the movie for it instead of keeping an open mind and really understanding and appreciating the story and movie for what it is. Is Divergent similar to The Hunger Games in some ways? Yes. However, if some people would actually pay attention they would see that Divergent is actually quite different from The Hunger Games in many ways and is not just a "rip-off" of the Hunger Games. Personally I enjoy the Divergent series more than The Hunger Games. So, I really liked this movie. I read the book beforehand and I've got to say that this is actually a pretty good adaption of the movie. The only thing I wished the could've done is make Peter more cold and aggressive like he was in the book. In the movie he just seems like your stereotypical bully. Also I wish they could've included the scene where Edward gets stabbed in the eye as that was pretty disturbing in the book and it would've made the movie a bit darker in my opinion but it's in the deleted scenes so it's all good. I thought the acting was very good, Shailene is superb as Tris as is Theo as Four. I thought Winslet was amazing as the cold, cunning Jeanine Matthews and everyone else was very good as well. I also absolutely loved the soundtrack to this movie, one of my favorites personally. So, again, I think some people and critics are kind of harsh either because they compare it so much to The Hunger Games (which there are going to be similarities, it's the exact same type of genre) or because these types of YA movies aren't for them and if that's the case then maybe they shouldn't be trying to see these movies in the first place. Superb movie in my opinion and good adaption, 9/10.
Teen Titans Go! (2013)
Why? Seriously, just, why?
Seriously, why is it that some people like this stupid, moronic, unintelligent, piece of trash show? I have to endure this show constantly because my little six-year-old sister watches it, unfortunately! Now, I'm not a fan of the original teen titans or anything so I'm pretty much just going off on this show alone. But anyways, bottom line, this show is stupid just like many other "kids" shows various networks nowadays. It's sad that today people can't produce smart, actually funny shows for kids to watch these days. Why do all "kids" shows have to be dumbed down? Do you realize how you are influencing this next generation by letting them watch stupid, crap shows like "Teen Titans GO!"? Don't even get me started on the "waffles" song on this show. MY GOD! I want to punch the screen whenever that episode comes on. When I hear stuff like that, I know the producers and writers aren't trying with this show, which they've already admitted they don't. What a surprise!!!!
All Dogs Go to Heaven: The Series (1996)
Not bad at all.
I am a big fan of ADGTH. The first movie was a classic and I don't think any of the other ones quite lived up to it or had the same tone as the first. I was probably in the minority of people who actually liked the second ADGTH despite it's flaws. And when I saw this series I thought it looked lame and decided not to watch and to just stick with the first two. However curiosity got the best of me and I decided to watch the first episode. I was surprised, much like I was with the second movie. The voice actors are all pretty good here with Steven Weber taking over as Charlie Barkin and Dom Deluise remains the voice of Itchy and basically all the other same voice actors from the second movie. The Animation could be better, not the greatest, but it's not terrible, I've seen much worse. So all in all the series is pretty good and if you liked the second movie then you'll probably like the series. The series has to be much better than the All Dogs go to heaven Christmas movie, that movie pretty much tanked but I do like the series.
Killing Daddy (2014)
Great T.V. movie and a stand out performance from Gillies.
Great movie and good acting, very underrated movie. Liz Gillies did great here, you wouldn't know that she used to be on the atrocious show that was Victorious on Nickelodeon. If Gillies was looking to break out of Nickelodeon and out of all the little kid stuff then she did it here. I would definitely check this one out. (Spoilers) The movie is about a woman called Callie who appears to have lost her way in the world but seemingly had some problems emotionally and mentally as a child. She is estranged from her dad but returns upon hearing that he has had a stroke and with no where else to go. Callie returns and is want very badly to make her father feel all the pain that she felt before. So is Callie really mentally unstable or is she really justified in all this?
All Dogs Go to Heaven 2 (1996)
People are overreacting, this is not that bad.
Why all the negative reviews? People are seriously overreacting and blowing this whole thing out of proportion. Is ADGTH 2 as good as the original, no probably not. But that doesn't mean this movie is bad. (Spoilers) Charlie is in heaven and Itchy ends joining him. Carface is also in heaven. He is acting all nice and innocent but is really plotting to steal the Horn of Gabriel. He steals it and goes back down to earth by using the horn to open the gates. Meanwhile Charlie is bored with heaven while Itchy is ecstatic about it. Charlie and Itchy are sent back to earth to get back the Horn of Gabriel. They get there and Charlie meets Sasha, whom he falls in love with, and David, a magician. I won't go any further than that. The Cons, Burt Reynolds is deeply missed as Charlie and the voice replacement of Carface is also a big loss. Anne Marie is not mentioned, perhaps because of what happened to the voice actress but it still would've been nice if Charlie had mentioned her. Also this seems to take place in the mid-80's-early 90's era but the original was in the 30's, that's a big plot hole for sure and the animation had a few glitches. But if you can get past all that, the movie is good, it was to me, and i'll say again that I don't understand why people are overreacting about this. It doesn't deserve all the bad reviews its gotten. I give it an 8/10.
Breadwinners (2014)
How do people like this crap?
The only reason I've seen this show is because my little 5-year-old sister watches it, unfortunately. This show takes Lame, unoriginality, and unfunny humor to a whole new level. Breadwinners is TERRIBLE! Terrible show and it grates on my nerves that some little kids watch this show and even imitate the humor sometimes. The Humor? Just a bunch of fart and toilet humor, the typical Nickelodeon "humor" of this era. (Spoilers) The show is about two green "ducks" that go around delivering bread in this truck. The ducks' names are Sway Sway and Buhdeuce. Seriously? What kind of names are those? It sounds like a first-grader came up with those names. And YES, I know, this show is meant for kids but not all kids find this stuff funny and Nickelodeon, at one time, actually made good shows that had different blends of humor thrown in not just this disgusting toilet humor Nick relies on so much now. To end this, the show is AWFUL. I would give it a 0 if I could.
Sam & Cat (2013)
Wait...people actually like this show?
I know...I know. This show is actually not targeted towards my age. But I've always said, just because a show or movie is targeted towards kids doesn't mean it can't be enjoyable for adults too. Drake and Josh is a good example of this. I'll go back and watch that show and laugh hysterically. But "Sam and Cat" does not apply to that. Spoilers for anyone who hasn't seen the show and plan on doing so the show is about Sam, from Icarly, and Cat, from Victorious. Cat gets thrown in a dumpster and Sam rescues her and they become friends and start a babysitting business at Cat's grandma's house who apparently is abandoning Cat. Why? I don't know. So that's basically what the show is about. This show is just...bad. I can't put it into words. Of course you've got the stupid overacting from everyone, one dimensional characters and weak writing. Plus it doesn't make sense. Why would these two characters create a babysitting business? Sam is a juvenile and Cat is borderline mentally retarded, it doesn't make any sense. Now if they had created a show called "Sam and Jade" that would've made way more sense. You take the ultimate bully in Icarly and take the mean, goth, bully-like Jade from Victorious, put them together and then you'd have a good interesting show, but no, apparently Nickelodeon can't be creative nowadays. I liked Icarly in it's early days, I hated Victorious, Sam and Cat takes it to a whole other level of stupidity. This show is terrible.
Sanjay and Craig (2013)
Sanjay and Craig, not a bad show.
I am surprised by how many negative reviews there are. This show is not bad at all. Spoiler alert for anyone who hasn't watched the show, it's about a boy named Sanjay and a snake named Craig and the show focuses on the adventures they share. Basically your average human and talking pet movie/show. Now there are a few fart jokes from time to time and I myself am not to fond of that kind of stuff but not so many to the point of annoyance. Bottom line Nickelodeon has been making a lot of new crappy shows lately and this one I feel is just much better with it's sarcasm and sometimes witty humor. So I like Sanjay and Craig it's grown on me.
