Predictable episodes
13 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Much like Johnny Bravo, this was pretty mediocre when I first watched it, which was as an adult as I never saw the show as a kid. Made it halfway through episode 2 but found the overall story to be highly predictable. You knew each episode was going to feature a story in this order: Mystery > Search for clues > Unmask the bad guy. Just because a show is aimed at kids doesn't mean it has to be predictable. I've seen better content since this aired that did a better job at avoiding this issue. The jokes weren't all that funny either and I wasn't fond of the intro.

Terrible movie
13 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Without knowing any of the characters from the TV shows, it was just a terrible experience watching it. I didn't even get all the way through it. The fart sounds partway through were pretty much the end of the movie for me. Having since seen an episode of the classic series from the 1970s, I can see the character resemblance, but honestly, it didn't need to be made. The show had plenty of movies already and in most cases, the live action tends to be a disaster.

Not sure I see the popularity
13 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Last year was when I opted to watch at least 1 episode of 8 classic Cartoon Network shows, the ones everyone seemed to rave about. This was one of those 8 shows that didn't sit well with me, though wasn't as bad as some of the shows I saw as a kid. I managed to get through 1 1/2 episodes, but the plot is pretty predictable as Johnny Bravo, the main character always tries to sweet talk his way into getting a date with a pretty lady and ends up being sucker punched instead. He's also a bad Elvis Presley impression and seems to think of himself and only himself. I can't really see why this show is so heavily favored by fans. Though from the reviews, it seems I didn't miss out on anything with more recent episodes.

Huh?
13 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I don't get this show at all. Things just happen and there's no explanation for it. I only got through half the first episode before turning away. It really doesn't make any sense. What's Courage so afraid of? Why does he seem to transform randomly without explanation? Why does he live with an angry grandpa? At least some of these should be explained at the beginning of the episode. The Powerpuff Girls did it, but this show seems to just have the viewers figure it out for themselves and as an adult, I couldn't figure out anything. It wasn't funny either. All the ads for it just have him yelling all the time with these over-the-top facial expressions. What's funny about that? Why was this show so popular?

Better than expected
13 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I'll be frank. I never saw ads for any of the franchise's media, toys or anything. Never watched Cartoon Network as a kid and as far as I can recall, I never had the channel. I dove into the entire franchise last year and the movie was first in line. There's WAY more action than I've ever seen in any Disney or just kids movie in general. It's also a great way to get into the series because while the movie was created after the show premiered, it actually chronologically comes first in terms of the story. The movie didn't feel rushed and there's plenty going on. They even have the best game of tag I've ever seen, and all because they weren't even aware of what their little game was doing. The class at Pokey Oaks Kindergarten had understandable first impressions and the Girls didn't know how to play the game at recess, which is entirely understandable. What else can I say? It's a great film and I don't understand why it did poorly with reviews. I recommend it to anyone that is a fan of the show or a fan of action.

Not very good
13 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
It could've been great, but after watching 5 episodes, I felt I was watching the same episode over and over again. The Girls made an excuse to leave school each episode instead of actually stating they have to save the world, they only ever fight Mojo, there's reused animation of them transforming and there's no variation of weapons. How is it at 5 years old the Girls can just state it directly why they have to leave school but at what 13 years old they have to make a petty excuse? They just don't feel like the same girls from either version of the show. It just feels lazy.

Don't get the hate
13 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
When I first saw the reboot after going through pretty much everything else, I didn't see anything that justified all the hate it got. The characters still resembled and acted much like they did in the original series. At least some of the original voice actors returned to play their respective characters and there's still crime fighting. The intro, while I wasn't sure what to make of it at first, is pretty decent, and I'd say catchier than the original show's intro. The outro theme is great too. I love the little animation that goes with it. Realistically, I could see the original Buttercup not liking being called princess either. She hates anything girly anyway. I found the characters' faces to be about as funny as the situations the girls were in during the original show's run. The episodes I will say are half as long as the original's, but I was still entertained and while I'm sad that Miss Bellum left early on, there's still nods to her during the series. I'd honestly say this is better than the anime version, which really doesn't stack up.

Best cartoon I've ever seen
13 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Unique compared to just about every superhero show released before and since. They don't even follow the stereotype typically associated with girls. In fact, they hate it being pulled on them as well. The intro gives you a teaser op what to expect in each episode and there are plenty of great moments throughout the series. If you're looking at the title and hesitant to watch, go for it. It's not as girly as the title may imply. There's no interactivity despite the main protagonists being in kindergarten. The Mayor is hilarious in pretty much every episode and there's even interaction between the narrator, whom is in pretty much every episode, and the Girls themselves. Great villains too. The outro, sung by Bis, is pretty catchy too. Highly recommended for anyone looking for something in Cartoon Network's department.

Looney Tunes Cartoons (2019–2023)

Only 10 so far but they've all been great
30 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
When it comes to reviving shows, there needs to be elements from what made the original show successful in the new one. This one has everything that made the original show successful as there was never anything negative to say about it. The new version of the classic Looney Tunes follows the original's charm and feel faithfully and has hilarious new skits to boot. Even in the first 10 episodes, we've seen many of the classic characters like Elmer Fudd, Yosemite Sam, Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and Porky Pig. Plus they aren't trying too hard at all. They're essentially bringing back the show many of us loved when we were younger and adding new skits to the mix. They're also not straying away from the shorts the characters were known for like Wile E Coyote chasing Road Runner. It's nice to know we still have shows that can be violent but not too violent in an era where everyone seems to have gotten soft and not willing to have even mild violence in TV shows for fears of lawsuits.

What is this?
11 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
There's probably a good reason it was direct-to-DVD. It was TERRIBLE. They took pretty much nothing from the original movie, which I've enjoyed as a kid and an adult as it showed what it could've been like for Gadget first trying out his gadgets and how that procedure was done. G2 served little purpose other than bad humor. The original series never had anything like her and she even explained a poorly written joke. It cannot even be considered a sequel if nothing is taken from the previous movie. It's just a disaster. Not even the original crew made it to the sequel but I doubt even they could've saved this movie.

Just as good as the original, maybe better
11 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Really don't know why ratings are so low. Much like the original series, Gadget and the Gadgetinis follows after the original series where Penny is older and Brain has been replaced by twin mini replicas of Gadget himself. Brain and even Chief Quimby appear later in the series too. The Gadgetinis are probably the highlight of the show as just about everything they say is hilarious. Colonel Nozzaire is also pretty funny when he gets involved in Gadget's mishaps. Claw may not be quite as sinister as he used to be but the voice fits him quite well as does Gadget's new voice. Claw also still has Mad Cat and a chair that resembles the one he had in the original series. Unlike the original series, however, Claw is actually shown in more detail. There is actually an episode where you see more of his body. Even so, you don't see his face but it doesn't matter because even if that isn't your thing, the rest of the show should be more than enough to compensate for it.

A Haunting (2005– )

Fantastic, worth it every episode
30 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
What can I say? The show brings a lot to the table and after a generally slow start, each episode builds up incrementally after each commercial break., which adds to the suspense and anticipation. The visual effects are awesome and while it's all actors portraying those that dealt with the hauntings and the ghosts, you really feel like the actors are the ones suffering through. I may not have been through an experience like this myself but I have little doubt these are legit experiences given the people are interviewed. Why would they make it all up? The mind tends to remember bad experiences better than good ones so I can't fathom why anyone would accuse those involved as faking it other than the actors. Oh sure they tend to involve exorcisms, which I'm not fully believing but if it came down to it, I'd give it a go and I'm not even religious. Even the exorcisms are exciting to watch. Each episode may have similarities in terms of story but how it plays out is definitely different. The reasons behind the hauntings are always different and the attacks can't always be explained by science. There's an ep featuring someone being scratched down the shoulder blade. A regular human can't reach that far down and even if they did, they wouldn't be questioning what happened or why. Definitely worth a watch, whether you believe in ghosts or not.

What a snoozefest
14 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
2 hours and 40 minutes without any action and the language "spoken" by the octopus-like creatures bored me to sleep. I can't understand how anyone could rate it so high when they made it as uninteresting as possible. How did this get 2 hours and 40 minutes of content? Even the soda and popcorn didn't keep me awake. I was mentally hoping for some kind of explosion or turn of events where there was something big happening, maybe where the octopi turned on the people that boarded their ship and fired a foreign substance at them. I don't think I've ever been so bored in a theater in my life. Nowhere near worth the price of admission. It was basically 2 hours and 40 minutes of the octopi making grunts and other uninteresting noises. Should've been at least half as long.

Not bad but not great
6 October 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Having already seen the abundance of clips and screenshots, not to mention the trailer, I wasn't entirely excited for this movie. Upon actually seeing it, it did surprise me at times like with the argument Twilight and her friends got into as well as the Trojan Horse parody scene. The songs weren't particularly great, though I had listened to those from the soundtrack around the time it was released. The villains weren't particularly interesting though it wasn't really surprising that Tempest is basically reformed by the end of the film given that the show reforms villains all the time and the whole "save a bad guy" motif has already been done before. Wasn't really a fan of the sort-of "haze" over the eyes as they end up looking darker than the rest of the body. The song at the beginning was probably among the worst as it was just a parody of "We Got the Beat" by the Go Gos. Props if you end up enjoying this movie more than I did but I don't think I'd have different thoughts had I not gone beyond seeing the trailers that were released. Kind of a let down given all the hype and merchandise that's already out now.

A good start to the G3 Movies
9 April 2017
Warning: Spoilers
If you're looking for a cute story about ponies honoring someone's birthday, this is for you. The characters are all enjoyable and when they're successful with their task of surprising Kimono on her birthday, the song they dance to is catchy. The animation is different than in movies after Friends are Never Far Away and Dancing in the Clouds and there are errors some errors throughout but I've enjoyed this movie time and time again.

Biased Beyond Belief
4 February 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Though he can seemingly write good reviews, his reviews of the G3 My Little Pony movies reveal just how biased and ignorant he can be. He'll ask questions that are directly answered in the film. He praises the new version of My Little Pony yet cannot seem to realize where the faults of that show are. He thinks it's bad for a movie to show no dialogue at the beginning oh and did I mention he doesn't like criticism? If you cannot take criticism, you shouldn't be dishing it out on things you don't like. Furthermore, he seems to forget that these G3 movies are AIMED AT KIDS so yes there's going to be lots of singing and only small conflicts but there are conflicts there. A simple argument is a conflict but Mr. Enter doesn't seem to realize this or chooses to ignore it. Unfortunately, he's the reason why so many don't like the G3 movies. They literally take his word for it without actually viewing the movies for themselves. If you have time to kill in your schedule, don't waste your time (or money as he does also earn money for his reviews) on this guy and find someone who actually knows what they're doing like Nostalgia Critic.

Live but still keeping the Charm
31 January 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Anyone that loves the G3 animated films will certainly enjoy the live show. The costumes are an accurate representation of each character in the animated movies and all the voices from those movies are incorporated here. Yes there's a lot of singing in the show but one has to remember this is aimed at kids and kids generally love songs. The animated eyes really bring the costume and the character to life, not to mention the lip movement. Additionally, there's not just a few characters but as many as 10 characters from the animated films as well as Spike. Some of the songs are completely original. Heck, for a new twist, they had the ladybugs song with actual ladybug characters instead of reenacting the original song with the ponies. It really shows that as a whole they worked really hard to keep the audience happy.

A heartwarming movie for everyone
30 January 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Oh sure it doesn't have the dangerous villains the more recent My Little Pony Incarnation has but it makes up for that by telling a charming story of how one pony is able to make up for a simple mistake and bring everyone to the magical home of Santa Clause. This movie reminds me of being a child, always excited for Christmas to come and being unable to sleep. The opening song is perhaps the catchiest song in the movie, not to mention the catchiest Christmas song I've ever heard and the moist original. The other songs may not be as good but there isn't one I hate, nor is there a character I dislike. Minty is certainly the kid in most of us, if not all of us. She knows she did a bad thing and wants to tell everyone about it to make things right but is nervous and afraid of the consequences. There are few errors in the movie but unless you know about them, you'll go right by them without even catching they were there. As a bonus, this movie reminds us what the true meaning of Christmas really is.

Over-hyped beyond Reason
29 October 2015
Warning: Spoilers
This movie has become so popular that a 2nd movie is/was due out later on. I really don't understand the appeal of this movie. The jokes were predictable and the characters weren't very appealing. The only remotely good song on the list is "Let it Go" but since it's become such a popular song, even it's not good enough anymore. Heck, this movie was popular well beyond its debut in theaters. Olaf was your typical "just for laughs" idiot that really provided no humor at all. When you get right down to it, it's a children's movie that shouldn't be anywhere near as popular as it is. It's so popular that even knockoff toys were made. I could care less about the "amazing animation" when a movie is this bad.

Worth the wait
9 July 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Although it's been almost 15 years since it was last on TV, it has proved that it still has what it takes to be a show. What's nice about it is that some of the original builders have returned, like Reason Bradly and Christian Carlberg and that's enough to offset the new people that do the robot intros and commentary. I kinda miss the "drag racing Christmas tree" from the original but the new version follows that pretty closely and Faruq does a pretty decent job introducing the robots in a manner that Mark Beiro would've done. Even the arena has maintained at least some of its charm from the 2000s version with the Killsaws, Pulverizers and the Screws all returning. I have yet to see the new "pinball flippers" do anything yet and since the hazards are now controlled via computer, it's less likely that there will be as much damage, especially since the Killsaws have only recently appeared.

Better than the first
9 July 2015
Warning: Spoilers
With how much I enjoyed the first movie, it was pretty well inevitable that I'd watch the 2nd and it did not disappoint. I loved how Sunset Shimmer became good because not only did that make her more interesting but also more likable. The new villains were actually much better than Sunset Shimmer as you could also relate to their frustration with Sonata Dusk. The music was also decent for the most part too, though I didn't like the sort-of remix to "Shake Your Tail" that they used when in the shorts, it didn't have the extra background music and thus sounded much better. With the next movie due out later this year, I'm interested to see where things go.

Worst Pile of Garbage I've Ever Seen
26 April 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Really? The best we can come up with in 2010 is a tire that magically has powers to get up but when it comes to obstacles, has to roll over it instead of actually going around it, not to mention can magically break stuff "with its mind?" I'm sure it was like the guy in the beginning said "no reason". You can't just include stuff without some form of reasoning. A bunch of random chairs in the middle of a desert road and the approaching car doesn't bash through them but tries to go around them and ends up smashing them anyway. Is there any reason for it? NO! Clearly the writers and the directors were high on some load of drugs/alcohol because nothing in this move even remotely made sense.

A Great Reboot!
4 April 2015
Even though it's now in CGI, all the characters from the 80s version are there with voices close enough to the original that it doesn't really matter. On top of that, the humor from the original is perfectly recreated in this version and there's multiple callbacks to the original series from the intro to scenes in the episodes.

Perhaps the only thing I can be negative on is the new design of the Gadgetmobile and perhaps the new Dr. Claw but neither of those are truly jarring enough to make this a bad reboot. There's also a nice touch in using more modern technology like Penny's new equipment. If you're a fan of the original, give this new version a shot. It's worth it in my book.

This is Comedy?
7 May 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Is this what we've come to for "comedy"? I sat through an entire episode and didn't even crack a smile. The host looks like he could be the next rapist with a smile like that. People throwing up or whatnot is apparently funny to people? How about if it happened for real? Is it funny then? I certainly hope not and I'm stunned that so many people enjoy seeing this very disturbing content. Heck, South Park doesn't go this far and they've been pretty offensive as it is but that I can sit through and at least relate to the characters once in a while. It may seem like I'm "not old enough" to see the show but I'm 24, which is plenty old enough for this garbage.

Doesn't get anymore offensive than this!
7 May 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Uwe Boll clearly doesn't know how to make movies. Granted I'm no expert either but someone of his caliber should at least know how to hold the camera steady or get a tripod! This movie is not only a total failure but is outrageously offensive. I don't know how one is supposed to get a laugh out of a movie that outright adds a 9/11 vision into the film. That is a smack in the face to the nearly 3000 deaths that occurred that day and to loved ones of those deaths. To top it off, there's even a a guy playing as Osama Bin Laden, the guy that orchestrated the attacks. Seriously? Oh and then he has the nerve to include Nazis, the people that destroyed 6 million Jewish people. This is by far the worst comedy movie I have ever watched. It's on the same sick sense of humor as Tosh.0.
