Rajaratha (2018)
This could have been so much more enjoyable...
This film was all over the place!!!! Several times, the narrator (Rajartha -- whoever he was, this was never explained) would be telling a part of the story and say that he would come back to something later. Then later on in the film he'd come back to it -- this resulted in the story-line being very disjointed and hard to follow. And there was an ever *bigger* problem with the subtitles; occasionally there would be dialogue but there would be no English subtitles on the screen at all. Even worse than that, whenever there was singing, 99% of the time the song lyrics never appeared as subtitles on the screen at all!!! As a result, those of us watching the film who only spoke English had absolutely no clue as to what the actors were singing about or what the hell was going on for the duration of the song. I paid $12 dollars to see this film and I felt truly cheated because there were several scenes which consisted of song routines!!!! (I actually went to see this film twice with both the Kannada and Telugu versions just to see if there were any differences and had the same experience with both. Terrible film making for the foreign audience!!!!!!!)
