A study of how to destroy two great franchises...
25 March 2016
Wow. I have just returned from watching batman vs superman and felt compelled to write this review. How Hollywood can be proud of this dire film is beyond me. It lack and cohesion whatsoever, its shot and setup by a blind man..I could go on and on. Ben affleck is an actor I actually like, but he's struggling with the cowl on this one. The only saving grace is it ends eventually. It never gets going, it just jumps around and it tries to copy too many films without forging an identity for itself. I really wanted to love this film but I just couldn't. I'm utterly heartbroken this could of been an absolute banger but instead we have a glorified advert for jeep and Turkish Airlines. Money talks integrity can get lost. A sad day for me.

All star cast brought together in British film for TV
20 March 2014
T&C is one of those rare things on British TV these days, quality story line with brilliant actors. I really enjoyed the pace and tone of the whole film, with each actor bringing a different feel to each scene. Bill Nighy plays the suave MI5 agent with aplomb and combined with Christopher Walken playing a CIA stooge (excellently may I add) made this a winner in my eyes. Excellent setting with superb production. For a TV film, I cant rate it highly enough. My only critique of the film is the sometimes jerky delivery of the lines, I mean, Bill Nighy isn't really associated with long flowing diatribe but sometimes it seemed as if all the different actors were fighting for screen time. Almost an embarrassment of riches in some respect but still this doesn't take the sheen of what is in essence an excellent TV film and well worth the licence fee.

Awful film
18 January 2014
This is one of the most hyped and biggest let downs of the modern age.

The hype for this film made it one to look out for, and I looked forward to its release.

However, upon viewing I cannot tell you enough how bad it is.

Im no fan boy of the original books and had never heard of the volumes in question and I have to say I wont be reading the books anytime soon.

Starting off with the "acting" skills of the leads in this film...I have a carpenter friend with less wooden materials in his work shop. Asa Butterfield is principle as the mighty oak, with no depth in character and no warmth at all as the lead. Ben Kingsley (Pine) has in one film ruined his career. Harrison Ford (Douglas fir) is obviously after one more paycheck at the expense of any artistic integrity... I guess you can see how much I think the casting sucks.

I read elsewhere that this is just Harry Potter in space and I inclined to agree with that statement. If your over 30 and have half a brain cell, you'll not like this one bit. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.

This shows one of the great IMDb mysteries of how such an awful film has a 7.2 average.
