This time it's personal...

Warning: Spoilers
Ellen Brody finds herself reliving the horrors of the past when a mammoth shark kills her youngest son. Grief-stricken, she travels to the Bahamas where she meets a carefree pilot. But the terror of the deep returns and Ellen must set out a final showdown to the death.

This film starred: Lorraine Gary, Lance Guest & Michael Caine

This is the 4th and final installment in the JAWS franchise and in my opinion it is the worst one not by far because the 3rd one isn't great but I do think it is better than this as the plot to this film is bad, I just like the action in this film. I don't really recommend this film but if you are interested check it out.

A creature from another world...
26 April 2014
Warning: Spoilers
A group of soldiers sent across the border to complete a mission end up fighting an unseen enemy. a force more powerful than their fiercest weapons. Recruited by the CIA to rescue hostages held by guerrilla fighters in a Central American country. The leader of the group Dutch and his men encounter an enemy unimaginably more deadly than any on Earth - because the Predator is not from this Earth.

This film starred: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Carl Weathers & Jesse Ventura

Predator was a really good film, it used to be one of my favorites, but now I like it but it isn't one of my best anymore. I do recommend this film, it is very good and very tense and gives birth to one of the most feared characters in sci-fi history.

It's more than just a game...
25 April 2014
It's called an Ouija Board, and it's been used for thousands for years to communicate with the souls of the after-world. For Linda Brewster it brings the playful ghost of a 10 year-old boy. But when the friendly spirit develops a sudden taste for murder and demonic possession. Linda's boyfriend and her former lover must destroy this ferocious portal of the damned. This is no game; this is WITCHBOARD.

This film starred: Tawny Kitaen, Todd Allen & Stephen Nichols.

WITCHBOARD is so underrated, you get a few shocks as it is a horror film, OK it's not the scariest film ever made, in-fact it's no where near one of the scariest films ever made, however this film does do it's job as a horror film as it gives you a couple of scares and has suspense, shocks & huge plot twists along the way. I do recommend this film.

Evil Dead II (1987)

Kiss your nerves goodbye!!!!
21 April 2014
Warning: Spoilers
I don't know if IMDb will take these as spoilers, so I will list them just in case.

Ash, the sole survivor of THE EVIL DEAD, returns to the same cabin in the woods and again unleashes the forces of the dead. With his girlfriend possessed by demons and his body parts running amok, Ash is forced to single-handedly battle the legions of the damned.

This film starred: Bruce Campbell, Sarah Berry & Dan Hicks

EVIL DEAD II is much better than the original as in the first film you laughed for all the wrong reasons but in this one it is just hilarious. I especially like the hand scene when he is smashing plates over his head etc. A funny horror/comedy movie that you can't help but laugh at. I recommend this movie. People may ask why did he go to the cabin again after all that happened in the first film. This is more of a remake than it is sequel, so go give it a watch and enjoy EVIL DEAD 2.

Lethal Weapon (1987)
8/10
A great movie that I can watch time and time again!
19 April 2014
Warning: Spoilers
I don't know if IMDb will take these as spoilers so I will list it just in-case

Martin Riggs is no ordinary cop. He's a Mad Max gone maniacal, a man whose killing expertise and suicidal recklessness make him a Lethal Weapon to anyone he works against. Or with.

Roger Murtaugh is an easygoing homicide detective with a loving family, a big house and a pension he doesn't want to lose. Imagine Murtaugh's shock when he learns his new partner is a guy with nothing left to lose: wild eyed, burnt out Martin Riggs.

This film tells a story of two ex-Vietnam vets turned cops who have only one thing in common: both hate working in pairs. But their partnership becomes key to survival when a routine murder investigation leads to an all-out take-no-prisoners, martial arts and machine gun war with an international heroin ring.

This film starred: Mel Gibson, Danny Glover & Gary Busey

Lethal Weapon is a highly entertaining movie, I can still watch it today although I have seen it so many times I have lost count it in't a absolutely fantastic film which will change your life forever when you have seen it, but you will enjoy it, no doubt about it. You always get laughs at Mel Gibson's character Martin Riggs as he always gets the job done sometimes in suicidal ways. Anyway if you own this film on DVD or Blu-Ray and are yet to watch it, grab yourself some popcorn and drinks and watch this explosive action-packed film which is LETHAL WEAPON.

The last of the Elm Street children...
18 April 2014
Born the bastard son of a hundred maniacs, demented killer Freddy Krueger is back to claim the last of the Elm Street children, children of the people who burned Freddy to a crisp and made him what he is. The children are in a psychiatric ward where Freddy haunts their dreams. Their only hope is dream researcher and fellow survivor Nancy Thompson, who must help them battle the psycho on his own hellish turf.

This film starred: Heather Langenkamp, Patricia Arquette & Robert Englund

A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 3 was a very good entry in the series, much better than the number 2 and I would compare it to the original, I couldn't choose which one was better but this one is a strong opponent with the first film. One thing that this film has that sequels like 4 & 5 don't have is a strong plot. I like the idea of why he after these children and not just anybody. I do recommend this entry even if your hope in Freddy was dissolved with number 2, I promise this one is much better.

Another very bad film
12 April 2014
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 is a sequel to the 1974 "hit film" (personally I think it's absolute pile of horse crap) however this took more of a comedy turn and this film was still awful. When I got these films, I was really looking forward to watching these, I have them all but so far I have only seen the first 2 and they are 2 of the worst films I have seen.

I don't recommend this film, from 1st minute to end there is a bunch of one dimensional characters that you really don't care about and Leatherface and his family just look stupid and it is ridiculous.

Manhunter (1986)

No where near as good as The Silence of the Lambs, FACT.
10 April 2014
MANHUNTER is a 1986 film about a retired FBI agent who accepts to go back on the force to hunt down a serial killer that fellow FBI agents call The Tooth Fairy because of the way he carries out his murders. In his quest to find the murderer he must seek help from the brilliant yet psychotic Dr. Hannibal Lector who he caught in his previous case.

In my opinion, this is no where near as good as The silence of the lambs. I know I spelt Lector wrong in the summary above but that it how it is spelt in the superior sequels to this film and I can't remember how to spell it in this film.

I don't really recommend this film but go check it out if you please.

An OK entry
2 April 2014
Warning: Spoilers
I don't know if this review will count as a spoiler but I will list it just in case.

As a child Tommy Jarvis did what many people died trying to do. He killed Jason Vorhees, the mass murderer who terrorised the residents of Crystal Lake. But now, years later, Tommy is tormented by the fear that maybe Jason isn't dead.

So Tommy and a friend go to the cemetery to dig up Jason's grave. Unfortunately, instead of finding a rotting corpse, they discover a well rested Jason who comes back from the dead for another bloody rampage in Friday THE 13th PART 6:JASON LIVES!

This film starred: Thom Matthews, Jennifer Cooke & David Kagen.

In my opinion, this wasn't the best entry in the Friday the 13th saga and out of the first 6 it was probably the worst. Tommy Jarvis was a completely changed character from the 5th film to this one. As in the 5th film he was scared, haunted by Jason scared of him, but in this one he taunts Jason when they are face to face and doesn't seem scared of him and just ants him dead as he is an enemy to Tommy. Although that bugged me in this film, the kills were decent, you got a couple of good shocks and Jason is back!

Aliens (1986)

This time it's war...
26 March 2014
The terror continues as Ripley returns to Earth after drifting through space in hypersleep for 57 years. Although her story about the Alien encounter is met with skepticism, she agrees to accompany a team of high-tech marines back to LV-426...and this time it's war.

This film starred: Sigourney Weaver, Michael Biehn & Bill Paxton.

ALIENS was directed by James Cameron in 1986, seven years after the original Alien film directed by Ridley Scott. In my opinion it is much better than the first as I was not a massive fan of Alien at all, but ALIENS remains one of my favourite films ever made and every actor did their part to perfection especially Bill Paxton who is probably the best character in the film as you do get a few laughs because of his silliness and the way he reacts when they find out Burke stitched them up.

I do recommend this film to everyone who has seen the first film even if you didn't like the first film, I didn't but this is a massive improvement.

They're back!!!
16 March 2014
Warning: Spoilers
I don't know if these will count as spoilers but I will list it just in case.

The ghastly ghosts and edge of your seat suspense that made you cringe and cower in the original return in this heart pounding sequel filled with jolting state of the art special effects.

The Freeling family may have settled into their new home but the spirits of the dead have not given up their desire to possess Carol Anne. Led by Kane, a demon disguised as a preacher, the spirits attempt to convince Carol Anne to join them on "the other side" but when plans fail, Kane unleashes the hellish fury of the Poltergeist on the Freelings which forces the desperate family to turn for help to a mysterious medicine man, a medium, a grandmother and most of all to each other.

This film starred: Heather O'Rourke, Jobeth Williams & Craig T. Nelson

Poltergeist 2 is better than the first in my opinion, I love this film, I watched this film recently and it is such a shame that Heather O'Rourke died so young because she had a really promising career ahead of her. R.I.P Heather god only takes the best.

Norman Bates is living life haunted by his memories of killing people such as Marion Crane & his mother, but life goes on as he appoints an new assistant called Duane and meets a new friend called Maureen, however Norman's "mother" is not happy about this so she will set her sights on trying to get Norman to be a faithful son once again.

This film starred: Anthony Perkins, Diana Scarwid & Jeff Fahey.

PSYCHO 3 is better than what people say, I know people will disagree with me and say I need shooting but I am not keen on the 1960 classic by Hitchcock, so I would probably say this film is better than the first one, however I wouldn't say it is better than the 2nd as that is my favourite out of the first 3 and I am yet to see number 4. Although PSYCHO 3 isn't miles behind PSYCHO 2.

Critters (1986)

Meh...
15 March 2014
Critters is a 1986 comedy horror film, which takes place in a quiet town starring a simple and disciplined family who live on a farm. It stars Dee Wallace who many people recognise from her role in The Howling. The main character is little Brad Brown who is the youngest member of the family and gets into all kinds of mischief e.g. fighting with his sister setting off fireworks etc. He must protect his family as his mother has a breakdown and his father has been injured by the fury creatures from space who plot nothing but madness and destruction too this quiet little farming family.

Critters is an OK family comedy/horror movie. I used to own all 4 of them in a box-set and was only keen on 1 & 2 so I got rid of 3 & 4 after I watched them a few years ago I just watched this one again recently and decided that these are not films that are worth me keeping, so now I own none of these, but I still recommend these to all you horror fans, sci-fi fans and comedy fans as they are worth a watch... well the first two anyway.

There can be only one
13 March 2014
They are immortals, destined to live forever. They must duel down the ages until only one remains. Only decapitation by sword can release them from there age-long battle for an incredible prize - power beyond imagination.

From the Scottish Highlands of the sixteenth century to present day New York, they fight for the prize, while the fate of mortal man hangs in the balance.

This film starred: Christopher Lambert, Sean Connery & Clancy Brown

HIGHLANDER is a 1986 film directed by Russel Mulcahy, it isn't a bad movie at all, it is quite good. It is a very entertaining film to watch when you are bored and want entertaining or if you want to go back to your 80's film collection that you haven't watched for a while. This film may not be great but it is worthy of a place in your collection no doubt. I do recommend this film, but I would try and stay away from the sequels, I've heard there pretty bad (although I do have 1 & 2 on DVD) so I will probably review that on here in the future.

The Rocky magic continues
8 March 2014
Warning: Spoilers
I don't know if IMDb will take this a a spoiler review so I will list it just in case

East meets West when Rocky takes on a vicious Soviet fighter who killed his last opponent Apollo Creed.

Rocky proudly holds the world heavyweight boxing championship, but a new challenger has stepped forward: Drago, a six foot four inch 261 pound fighter who has the backing of the Soviet Union. This time Rocky's training regimen takes him to icy Siberia, where he prepares for a globally-televised match in the heart of Moscow. But nothing can truly prepare him for what he is about to face - a powerfully charged fight to the finish in which he must not only defend himself but the honour of his country.

This film starred: Sylvester Stallone, Dolph Lundgren & Carl Weathers

Rocky 4 is another excellent entry in the Rocky saga, every character played his/her part superbly, this film was written and directed by Sylvester Stallone and he did a mighty good job on and off camera. I highly recommend this film as it is one of my favourite, however Rocky 3 remains my favourite in this saga but Rocky 4 is not far behind.

Freddy is back and he is not happy
6 March 2014
Warning: Spoilers
I don't know if the IMDb will take some of the content in this review as spoilers so I will list it just in case.

Freddy Krueger is back, and since Nancy has moved out, he's haunting the new kid on the block.

Five years have passed since Freddy Krueger was sent howling back to hell. But now, a new kid on Elm Street is being haunted by every night by gruesome visions of the deadly dream stalker. And if his twisted soul takes possession of the boy's body. Freddy will return from the dead to wreak bloody murder and mayhem upon the entire town.

This film starred: Robert Englund, Mark Patton & Kim Meyers

A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET PART 2:FREDDY'S REVENGE used to be my most hated film ever however I have watched it again and it wasn't as bad as I thought it was but it still was poor basically the new boy Jesse moves into the house which was owned by Nancy and her mother in the first film, this film tells you that Nancy went insane and her mother killed herself. However Freddy wants more than to just killing people in their dreams so he tries to take possession of Jesse to continue his massacre in the real world.

The film is poor and nowhere near the standards of the original, however I suppose you have to watch it if you want to watch them from the beginning however I do warn you, this film is not a great one but I will say this it is better than NEW NIGHTMARE which was released in 1994/1995 because that my friends was absolutely dreadful.

With the help of a feisty stewardess, Matrix has 11 hours to find his daughter before she is murdered.

This film starred: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Alyssa Milano & Rae Dawn Chong

Commando is an entertaining film, no doubt about it. It was a perfect role for Schwarzenegger or Stallone. I do recommend it to all you action film fans as it is a good Schwarzenegger movie.

If Mick thought life on the outside was tough, life on the inside is even tougher, and the only person who can help him is himself.

This film starred: Sean Penn, Reni Santoni & Jim Moody

BAD BOYS is an excellent film Sean Penn gives an absolutely brilliant performance as O'Brien. I highly recommend this film, 2 hours well spent in my opinion.

Your sister is a werewolf
3 March 2014
Warning: Spoilers
I don't know if the IMDb site administrators will count this a s a spoiler but I will list it just in case

Howling 2 was a film about a man who's sister was Karen White who was played by Dee Wallace in the first movie. He is told about her being a werewolf and goes and helps a man wipe the rest of the werewolf species out across America and Europe.

This was another bad film in the Howling series just like the first before it, I don't know how they persuaded Christopher Lee to be in this movie as you usually expect better things what he stars in a film. I was not to keen on the plot and the body in the coffin at Karen's funeral right at the beginning didn't even look like her one bit.

An absolute classic
1 March 2014
The year is 1985 - but not for long. Because teenager Marty McFly is about to be blasted back to 1955 aboard the plutonium-powered DeLorean created by eccentric genius Doctor Emmett Brown. But when accidentally keeps his parents to be from falling in love, it triggers a chain reaction that could vaporize his future - and leave him stuck in the past! Now Marty's last hope is to change history - before the clock runs out on his only chance to get himself BACK TO THE FUTURE.

This film starred: Michael J. Fox, Christopher Llyod & Lea Thompson

BACK TO THE FUTURE is one of my favourite movies ever. I love this movie from the first minute to it's last, no matter how many times you watch it you still find some parts funny. If you have not seen it, you need to watch it. It is a film you can watch time and time again.

Do you feel lucky...
1 March 2014
Harry Callaghan is a tough, streetwise San Francisco cop whom they call Dirty Harry. In this action classic, you'll see why.

A rooftop sniper calling himself Scorpio has killed twice and holds the city ransom with the threat of killing again. Harry will nail him... one way or another - no matter what the "system" prescribes.

This film stars: Clint Eastwood, Andy Robinson & Harry Guardino

Dirty Harry a 1971 police thriller directed by Don Siegel who worked with Eastwood when he directed Coogan's bluff. This film is known as Clint Eastwood's best film. Not in my opinion although it is a very good film it is not my favourite. I do recommend this film to all Clint Eastwood fans and if you watch it enjoy.

Not as good as people say...
1 March 2014
The Howling a 1981 horror film tells the story of a news reporter who has a close encounter with a serial killer, is sent to the country-side type place to calm her down and get her back to normal. However the other people at this resort are werewolves.

I am not a big fan of werewolves films and this was another I did not enjoy. It wasn't an absolute embarrassment to the horror genre as I have seen worse, but it is not one that I will jump at the chance to watch again. It didn't scare me. It barely even amused me. I don't recommend this film unless you are a big fan of werewolf films or if you want to watch all of the Howling movies. I do have all the Howling movies on DVD so I will be watching more but it is not something I can't wait for.

He becomes their avenger. The tycoon then hires a badge-wearing killer and his duster- shrouded deputies, men loyal to whoever pays the most. LaHood pays gold But in a climatic shoot-out to remember.

THE STUFF is a 1985 comedy/horror film, which tells the story of a mysterious goo that oozes from the centre of the earth. When a man finds it, he tastes it and thinks that it tastes delicious. After this THE STUFF is marketed and sold as the new delicious desert. However THE STUFF isn't the desert you may think it is. It rots your insides and turns you into zombie like creatures.

In my opinion The Stuff was a boring film I didn't know it was a comedy and wouldn't have guessed either because it simply was not funny what so ever. I don't recommend this film at all as I hardly enjoyed it, you did get some entertaining scenes but they were very few. If you want to watch it go ahead, however I have warned you about this film.

A new beginning
20 February 2014
Jason is back, Hockey mask and all. And he is up to his old maniacal tricks in Friday The 13th Part 5: A New Beginning. This time he seems to have set his sights on the young patients at a secluded halfway house. And more than a few of his teen targets end up in halves and quarters. This is the fifth instalment of the Friday The 13th saga. If you liked the first 4 and think you're up to getting back on Jason's bloody trail. You'll surely enjoy Friday The 13th Part 5: A New Beginning.

In my opinion this was one of the better entries in the Friday The 13th saga, it wan't perfect but it was a whole lot better than 1 and 4 for sure. If you are a fan of Jason I recommend this film.
