Interstellar (2014)
Well Spent Space Time
It's been a long time since I first heard of this movie. The rumors about a space-travel movie by Cristopher Nolan immediately got me excited. In a few months I started watching every picture, trailer or interview about this new "Interstellar" movie.
Finally I got the chance to see it, just yesterday, on day 1... and... alright. Good movie, a full 8. Great acting by Matthew McConaughey in a not usual role for him, great visuals and special FX and then.. a lot of ups and downs. Definitely was expecting more by the plot, that it seems interesting at the beginning and then it solves to nothing, with many unfilled holes that "maniacs" like me love to know. The film is long enough, maybe too long, and sometimes it happens to realize that the pace slows down a lot, just to accelerate few moments later all of the sudden. The ending is also a no, for me.
I was maybe expecting more from it, but I understand it's still a very good movie, with some traces of classics like 2001: A Space Odyssey by Stanley Kubrick, and previous Nolan's blockbusters like Inception.
Elysium (2013)
Not a really good movie.
I was expecting something more from this movie. I was pretty disappointed when I finished watching it. I think that one of the most amazing things about movies in the future like this, is the use of the space and all the futuristic inventions. In this one it looks like they didn't really want to show that. But for what? The plot is not really interesting, and is based on not original facts, like the classes-division of humans. Matt Damon is always a great actor, but this is definitely not a great movie. I liked some scenes though, especially the action ones, but I've not seen nothing really great. This is definitely a good movie to watch if you're bored and you have nothing to do, but if you want to see something great, skip over.
Pulp Fiction (1994)
A really great movie. A must-see one.
I wasn't sure if I've ever seen Pulp Fiction or not, so yesterday I watched it and discovered that no, I've never seen it before. The movie is longer than the usual movies of todays, almost like the Lord of Ring's ones, but the feelings watching it are totally different. I totally enjoyed every minute of the movie: Tarantino made a masterpiece, a masterpiece of directing, cast and plot. One thing I really enjoyed about this movie is the fact that it looks like a gangsters movie, but is not. Indeed during the movie the police never appears, neither the word is spoken.
This is for sure a must-see movie, one of those ones that you'll always remember in your life and you'll make your child watch it. (In the movies there are violence scenes, but nothing really happens)
