Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023)

Bravo!!!

The first Spiderverse film was excellent. Everything worked like a charm. Sometimes we have to choose between amazing special effects and a good story with strong character growth. Every now and again you get a film on the level with Roger Rabbit.

Out of this trilogy, they have already given us two magnificent story's. It's like Toy Story where you are in awe of the visual presentation. People like me appreciate when you can see the heart and hard work on the screen. Apparently some studios believe throwing absurd amounts of 💸 at the production crew and a good movie will just suddenly appear. When you hire artists with a vision and a passion to inspire the crew to believe in the magic being conjured, then a quality film appears. Life is hard all over and it is a blessing when they give us a product we can treasure. I know the pressure is at 💯%, but I pray they get what they need to finish this partial masterpiece.

Werewolf by Night (2022 TV Movie)

I had no idea Marvel was capable of something like this. I had never heard of this character and I didn't know what it was before its release. The writers, director, etc.. I hope Disney has locked them down. Everything about this is magical. Even the presentation, which I assume is an homage to century old creature features. Im just blown away at the creativity, storytelling, the casting, all of it. This thing was short and they still did the male and female lead justice with a proper backstory and very satisfying finish. I am hoping Marvel can take this masterpiece and build from it. Obviously I wouldn't expect future productions of these characters to be this perfect, but I hope they put forth the same effort. Its all anyone can ask.

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe (2021–2022)

Way better than Revelations.

The animation takes a minute to adjust to but the story is wonderfully told.

They get a 10 out of 10 from me when it comes to the effort made to capture the spirit of the OG.

Plus, its actually great for kids.

Midnight Mass (2021)

Boring.

Black Widow (2021)

Im kidding. I liked it. Lots of fun action. Lots of funny moments. It even gave me the feels a few times. I thought it was funny when the suave handsome black guy was a swerve for TM.

The editing i thought was excellent. Yelena is pretty gnarly. I hope she finds a pleasant way to die.

The Pest (1997)

Watching this gave me a flashback to my xtsy days. This fever dream of a nightmare haunts my thoughts to this day. I like Leguizamo a lot. I even like his stageplay comedy one man shows, but this movie is a cautionary tale. A lesson to future comedic endeavors. If you ever want to see what happens when every different type of natural disaster strikes the same spot at once, then give this abomination a go.

Salt (2010)

Definition of underrated.

I've seen this flick half a dozen times from 2010 to 2021. It never gets old or dull.

I gave it a 10/10 to boost the score.

That six point whatever score it has now is annoying and absurd. I give it a 7.3/10.

Jolie was captivating as she carried the film displaying both strength and a vulnerability that I personally found mesmerizing.

Whoopi Goldberg wins an oscar for her glorious performance in Ghost. She also helped launch Comic Relief which was a really big deal in those days. She was truly a pioneer of comedy for those last two decades of the 20th century.

Five years later......this happened.

The existencial apocalypse of this air quote "movie" effected Whoopie so deeply, she ended up a demented leftist glued to a chair as head panelist of The View.

Prodigal Son: It's All in the Execution (2021) Season 2, Episode 1

Anyone who believes the Tarmel event would actually play out like that is either silly or stupid.

While I understand what they were shooting for, they screwed up 10/10.

This show has amazing writers and they dare present this ridiculous scenario.

I have binged watched the first season and treasured it. I pray this is a solitary blip.

The Vanished (2020)

Simple and pure. Almost flawless.

I never cared for his acting, but he directed the hell out of this. The story could have looked like a Lifetime movie of the week, but this picture is riveting. Effortlessly cranking up the tension. The events unfold so naturally.....just beautifully done.

I like how it started. I got a little bored in the middle, but around episode 6, holy cannoli the story took off like the Road Runner on a meth binge. There had better be a second season or I will leave a sternly worded tweet on their feed.

Star Wars: Rebels (2014–2018)

I gave the movie a ten bcuz it's better than 6.2, I would have given it a 7 at least. Sadly, Sarah Conner is the anchor of the movie. Meaning she drags it down to a standstill. Otherwise, it's a fun adventure. Both the Rev-9 and Grace the augmented are excellent IMO. The action is pretty dope and the story is entertaining. Sarah just made a portion of it suck.

I found this out of boredom. I remember a bit of its true crime details. Every actor in this piece is spectacular. I would hand out Emmy's like they were candy. I remember Deter from Justified. At this pace in ten years she'll be a hall of famer.

I'd given up on this madness. After Season 3 I stopped enjoying. Only continuing because of my wife. Season 9, however was a goddamn treasure. Everything about it is perfect. I didn't want it to end.
