Occupation: Rainfall (2020)
A movie franchise that went from underdog to epic.
For the life of me, I can't recall seeing a movie franchise I've ever seen that has redeemed itself like this one has. If you enjoyed the first film, wait till you see this absolute epic! Conversely, if you were disappointed as many viewers were in the first film, again I tell you... wait till you see this absolute epic!
I honestly have never officially reviewed a film on IMDb for the public to see despite rating over 1,000 films on IMDB over the last 10 years or so, despite being tempted to do so many times, ranging from giving horrible ratings to fantastic. Yet this movie here came up against all odds. I only watched this movie because I really quite enjoyed the experience of watching "Occupation", the first film despite it's many flaws. It had a really average script, storyline and dialogue, illogical motives, with mediocre directing and acting but incredible special effects and great potential to be another typical Hollywood blockbuster. This movie, "Occupation: Rainfall" however, I expected to be either potentially worse or slightly better. Instead, it far exceeded my expectations, and I was literally glued to the screen from start to finish.
If you want to see an epic movie, watch "Occupation: Rainfall", and ignore the bad reviews. If you are one who's not capable of being able to handle a bit of cheese in movies, you could probably even get away with missing the first film, and instead going straight onto this one. If you can suck up your critical thinking however, watch the first film so you can get a greater look into the backstory of Occupation: Rainfall's world and characters. "Occupation: Rainfall" certainly had a few flaws, but not bad enough to waist my time on criticising. I'm certainly glad I watched the first film, because I would not have had the absolute pleasure of knowing about this fantastic film, and watching it. Kudos to Luke Sparke for enduring much criticism from his previous film, of which I presume he humbly took on board the useful feedback, because if he hadn't, I can't see how he could have proceeded to create a movie of such redeeming value. I rate this film 7.7 stars out of 10.
