Don't follow!!
The following has it's shares of problems. Bad acting, bad direction, bad story and zero character development.
The Acting: The protagonist comes across as angry at the world. She has no like ability and she was the best female actor. Her 2 friends lack any acting capabilities. The protagonist boyfriend and his buddies are complete jokes as actors. The boyfriend of her friend is not the best actor in the movie, but his character is one dimensional and has little screen time.
The direction, story, character development (writing): We are given nothing about the characters. Who were the followers? Where did the protagonist learn how to "fight". Was the blonde some kind of social media influencer? She lacked any personality, so it's hard to tell. Is the other friend a lesbian? They gave zero attention to it, but seems she had a girlfriend(?).
The single best part of the movie came at the 73rd minute and that was the end of the credits and the movie was finally over.
The Beekeeper (2024)
9/10
I'm not going to talk about the plot. Just bullet points of performances by the Antagonist a d supporting cast.
This is Jason Statham doing what he does best and that's being a badass.
Josh Hutcherson does a solid job in a role that's far from being a goody two shoes.
Emmy Raver-Lampon is better than her portrayal in The Umbrella Academy.
And, Jeremy Irons is Jeremy Irons. Always a solid actor.
Very solid Action Movie with Statham at his best.
I give 9/10 only because of minor nuisances. Phylicia Rashad, although she does a great job, was give a role that made her seem gullable and that was hard to buy.
Then, Minnie Driver's role was minimal. I think she's a very good actress and wanted to see more of her.
River Wild (2023)
A good movie if you don't think about the plot holes
This movie is full of plot holes. However, the one that really took away from the decent acting is after Van was injured, pushed down, tripped or whatever happened, they couldn't call for help because the satellite phone and back battery were dead. But, when we saw Joey in her tent she was looking at her phone texting with her boyfriend. If you can text, then you can call 911. 911 emergency has priority over every other type of service, when it comes to the phone. (Should be common knowledge, but worked for cellular service). Texting is third on the list. So, even if texting had priority over 911 (silly, I know) why did she not even attempt to try to use her phone?
We wouldn't get a majority of the movie if that happened, granted. It's just plain dumb to even add it to the plot.
Zombieverse (2023)
Started off bad, but stick around
The first few episodes were not that great, but the second half had me in stitches.
The premise of the show isn't that good, but there are laughs aplenty.
When the people break character and start laughing, it's infectious. Even a "zombie" or two break character as well.
Noh Hong-chul is a wimpy, scaredy-cat. (Think far left in US) and he only thinks of himself, but he's really funny. His scenes with the undercover reporter is hilarious and a highlight.
I'm almost certain thatJonathan breaks character the most. .
Park Na-rae is sassy and her teaming up with fellow half zombie Hong Seong-woo was a perfect match.
So, if you stopped watching after the first few episodes (like I did). Go back and finish(like I did)It gets better soon. It gets a lot better.
2000 Mules (2022)
Some truths
All I will say is that it has just enough truths to convince those that do not need convinced. Has about the same amount of truths as a Michael Moore documentary. Very little.
The Endgame (2022)
If you like excitement, ignore the low rated reviews.
As per history, pilot episodes are hit or miss, generally a miss. Great shows have had poor pilots, but rarely does a bad show have a great pilot. This show's pilot episode is an exciting adventure. Here are some spoilers, not everything is in exact order, but here we go:
The show starts out with a flashback of girl and her father where the girl blows up a car with a bazooka. While Russian Elena Federova narrates the "story".
In present day, Miss Federova has been captured by the FBI and is held in, what looks like an underground interrogation room. Proving to be quite the opponent for the FBI.
Meanwhile, FBI agent Val Turner is visiting her fellow FBI agent husband, Owen, in prison who has been accused of the crime of taking drug money. He serves her divorce papers to help her live a life where the FBI won't be looking over her shoulders, wondering if she was involved in the crime.
Agent Turner ends up getting a call from her husband's divorce lawyer. She, thinking this is unusually quick, but brushes it off.
In the meantime, seven banks have been taken over by a group of ?terrorists?. We find out this is at the behest of Elena Federova.
We learn there has been history between Turner and Federova, in the legal sense.
When Tyner visits with Federova we see another flashback with two girls, one from the previous flashback and one of the girls gets stabbed. Federova shows a scar on her stomach. However, the girl who gets stabbed was not the one from the first flashback
Federova wants to talk to her lawyer and when Turner remembers the lawyers name a little later, she calls him and realizes that he is the same attorney who claimed to be her husband's divorce lawyer. He gives her the message that Federova wants to make a deal for information to help her husband. When Turner questions what she could possibly know, she finds out that it was Federova who set him up.
FBI believes she is after gold in the bank hiests. We learn that that wasn't the reason at all, but to expose secrets from individual FBI agents.
We also get one last flashback, the girl that gets stabbed brought the knife into her own stomach to get the other girl closer to her to break her neck and when that girl's father comes in to help and she throws a knife into his neck. Federova was in the vehicle with her father that the other girl blew up with a bazooka.
The episode ends with Federova, cryptically, saying she has another story, which is likely what the next episode is about.
Can't wait for the next episode.
A Million Little Things (2018)
Started out great, then...
This was a great show when it started. Good stories. Good acting. Then, just like all of my former favorite shows, they became "Woke" and ruined a great show. Last season I had several series that I watch. Today, I'm down to three because of all the "wokeness" from Tinseltown.
Superman & Lois: Pilot (2021)
Ended better than it began.
The first third of the episode was 'meh'. Middle third was good. The final this was really good.
I don't ever put spoilers in my reviews, so not much I really can say about this episode outside of what I thought what started out as mediocre as Super girl, it ended with what I compare to The 100....in terms of production, not storyline.
A few minor twists along the way brought my score from a 6.5 to an 8.
The Good Doctor (2017)
Started off great...
The series started off great, but they have become so woke that they say to hell with actual facts.
I stopped watching a while back, but every once in a while I'll catch an episode if I have nothing to do or nothing else is on. EVERY single episode I've watched since it was removed from my DVR setting has far left idiologue story lines, I think Vox, Slate, Buzzfeed or Mother Jones ( all highly unreliable /half truth sites) are writing their scripts.
I get that nearly every other show has a left tilt to it and I'm generally okay with it looking at you Blacklist). But, they are not near as 'in you're face' as The Good Doctor has become.
So long Good Dr. You may consider rethinking the adjective.
The War with Grandpa (2020)
What happened to De Niro
A once great actor has fallen so far. His attempt at comedy is pretty bad and hasn't matched his role in Meet the Parents. This is just a continuation of either his dwindling acting skills or his poor decision to start making comedies.
Just a typical old man and bratty kid movie. De Niro being part of it did nothing for the film or De Niro himself.
Look for something more entertaining to watch, like a hamster on a wheel.
The Unicorn: It's the Thought That Counts (2020)
Counter productive.
If this "woke" episode is supposed to preach to the audience about stereotyping black people, it did a horrible job with the angry black woman.
The Walking Dead: World Beyond (2020)
I don't like it
Maybe it's a generational thing, but this series is for what many have dubbed "snowflakes". I don't mind a show's left leaning tendencies, 99% do . However, this one definitely has a far left message that I don't find believable in a zombie infested world.
Clownery (2020)
Does Italy have to an equivalent to the Razzies? This would sweep.
The acting was embarrassingly horrible.
The plot was horrible.
The direction was horrible.
The cinematography was horrible.
There was one thing that was great, it ended.
Connecting... (2020)
Maybe the script abs the acting had covid
What was the point of this. Are the actors this bad or is the script this bad? If I had to place a safe wager, I'd bet on both. The story never got off and the characters are highly unlikeable. If this is what covid is giving us, the viewers, give me a library of books to fill my television time.
Running Through Darkness (2018)
How people give this 8"s, 9"s or 10"s is baffling
This is absolutely garbage. Acting is subpar. Either the writing is horrible or the edit left out some key elements because there are so many plot holes. Things that don't make sense.
It's barely worth the time to even punch in these words.
