Selena & Yolanda: The Secrets Between Them (2024)
YOLANDA IS WHERE SHE BELONGS!
This show makes me sick and Peacock should be ashamed to show this documentary. The only reason it is coming out is Yolandas up for parole in 2024.
I remember this day like is was yesterday and will not forget it. Yolanda MURDERED Salina in cold blood by shooting her in the back while she was trying to get away from her. Yolanda followed her and chased her with the gun. This is not an "accident". This is murder. No one gives a crap about Yolanda, her bold faced lies, embezzling and she is the ultimate psycho. I hope she rots in jail and never gets out. She took a beautiful innocent life and she is going to try to spin her story. Disgusting.
The English (2022)
Rewatching, It's that good
Me and my mom both enjoyed this series and watched it over the weekend. From the beginning you feel an attachment to the main characters and it is hard to put yourself in their shoes. I am a strong independent woman but could not imagine living in this era of America.
I also have a close friend that is Native American and have compassion for their struggles still endured to this day.
The way the story plays out is beautifully done and I am already rewatching it to catch things that I missed the first time. I am understanding things a bit clearer the second time around.
I believe this is a exceptional piece of work.
The Lost City (2022)
Cute Film
With all the stress from work and the crazy out in the world this movie was a nice breath of fresh air. Besides the fact that I love all of the cast it was fun and entertaining. Me and my son laughed and enjoyed the movie. Glad we went and saw it tonight.
Spencer (2021)
I must have been watching something different
I don't understand all the high marks on this? I grew up watching Princess Diana in awe. I was about 2 years younger when she married Prince Charles. This movie didn't even remind me of Diana. For one she was tall and had a stunning voice. Not that whispery thing Kristen was doing. I am American and hate when Americans are portraying someone brittish. I don't think they did Diana or her memory any justice here. Just my personal opinion. I also was bored 10 minutes in.
Deep Water (2022)
Why?
Not sure what the movie was supposed to be but it was all over the place. I feel bad for him but then dont. She's irritating throughout and makes no sense why they are together. Just a waste of my time.
Stop-Loss (2008)
Good but sad
Good movie but hard to watch if you have friends or friends kids that have actually gone through this. A reality check and eye opener for sure. Great acting.
Step Up (2006)
Dancing fun
Although the plot is a bit unrealistic, the story itself is entertaining and the cast is perfect. If you enjoy watching people dance then you should enjoy this movie. The music is superb and keeps me tapping m foot.
She's the Man (2006)
Enjoy
If you like Channing Tatum you will enjoy this movie. It's light, silly and fun. This is one of my go to movies when I need something to cheer me up. Great cast.
The Lost Daughter (2021)
Waste of 2 hours
I have no clue how this has such high ratings. This was the stupidest movie and I kept thinking it would pick up. It doesn't. Makes no sense and I'm very disappointed in the ending. Bore fest.
West Side Story (2021)
Fan of West Side Story
I rarely like remakes. I not only love the original movie but have seen the Broadway production twice of WSS. I was more than pleasantly surprised at how good this movie was. I think chosing Ansel was key and I would recommend this to my friends. Loved it.
Promising Young Woman (2020)
Good but slow
I like the movie and the storyline was excellent. I felt like the last half dragged out a bit too long and there should have been more bar scenes. On more than one occasion I had people that I trusted turn on me because I was a bit intoxicated (when in my 20's). This movie did a great job of showing how women need to stay in pairs or groups. There are too many creeps out there that want to take advantage of the situation.
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (1989)
Fun to watxh
I've watched this so many times in my lifetime and I just think it is hilarious. I'm a big fan of the vacation movies and this is my favorite. Quirky, goofy and slapstick humor at it's best. Love it.
Gone Girl (2014)
Disturbing but delicious
I absolutely love this movie. There were a lot of good parts and it was entertaining. Kept you on your toes wanting to see what's gonna happen next and I would watch it numerous times more. I felt the writing in this movie or the screen play was done excellently and it was very intriguing to watch what was going to happen. Twisted and deep. I liked this movie very much and the acting was superb.
Joker (2019)
Good if you need a nap
Me and 12 of my family members ranging from the age of 13 to 80 watched this and none of us liked it. We heard it was good but it was a snoozefest. I don't understand the high ratings. It was an awful waste of time I will never get back.
Atonement (2007)
The actors are well picked
I LOVE all the actors in this film. In fact 3 of my favorite all time actors are in this and magnificent. I just have a hard time with the storyline and ending. The fact that a sister could hurt another sister so deeply is disturbing to me.
Whiplash (2014)
Not my cup of tea
I love the actors in this movie and they did a great job. The story itself was too hard for me to enjoy. No person on this earth should get treated this way, no matter what the outcome.
The Layover (2017)
Cute and Lighthearted
I am glad I ignored the reviews and gave this a shot. It was cute and goofy. I like these type of movies when I need a break from real life. It isn't going to win any awards but I laughed out loud several times. It was fun.
Fatherhood (2021)
Heartwarming
I just finished watching this movie. I believe it was very true to heart. It is very difficult raising a child, especially of the opposite sex, without the other parent in the picture. I did it myself. Kevin Hart did an outstanding job with his true to life emotion. I cried through most of it but sometimes we need a reminder that life is built on chances. No guarantees. It is short and to live it to the fullest. I liked this movie very much.
Bridgerton (2020)
A nice break from my life
I really don't understand all the horrible reviews. This show is for entertaining not history. I am a history buff and also huge Austen and Bronte fan so this isn't that, but it is entertaining. Beautiful dresses, scenery and people. I was stuck inside for a year working from home and this show was a perfect distraction from life for a while. A fantasy type of getaway. Don't read the reviews, try it and you might like or you might hate it. I loved it. So do all my friends and family.
Only When I Laugh (1981)
Blast from the past
I loved this movie when I was younger and still do. It is hard to relate since I have never had a drinking problem but do have a teenage daughter (not so easy most day's). My daughter is what I revolve my life around and I am thankful I have not have to struggle with substance abuse. It is a good movie and I love the whole cast.
Baewatch (2019)
Cringy as...
I can think of nothing more cringy than seeing my son and his girlfriend together. Ugh. I would need to wash my eyes out with soap. I hope and pray that these people were all acting! The thought of spying on people in intimate moments (even if you don't know them) is disturbing. I wish I could get back those 20 minutes of my life. Not my cup of tea. If you like reality shows like this-Love Island or Naked Dating is much better.
Those Who Wish Me Dead (2021)
Totally Predictable
I belive I have seen this movie over and over. Worse, they never fill in the gaps in the story. I'm sorry but being a woman that does not weigh 75 pounds, this was so unrealistic. No woman that tiny could out man someone twice their size, much less beat them. Stupid waste of time. Luckily I was able to watch it for free on HBOMax or I would have been wanting my money back.
The acting was good, the storyline wasn't.
Mare of Easttown (2021)
Relished every episode
I love a good "who done it" and this was no exception. I loved the show from start to finish and wish it never ended. Great acting, the whole cast.
The Grand Seduction (2013)
Pure Enjoyment
I enjoyed this movie more than I have anything in a while. Heartwarming and fun. I giggled alot, loved the cast and the location was absolutely stunning. Another place to add on my bucket list.
The Spanish Princess (2019)
Waste of time
I couldn't even finish the first episode it was so stupid. So historically inaccurate it was irritating. If they want to show a fairytale then they should just change the names to fictitious characters.
