Spring Break Shark Attack (2005 TV Movie)
7/10
Not as Bad as People Say it is!!!
21 August 2020
All of the negative reviews are understandable. This movie has a vague over done plot of students going to the beach for spring break and sharks attack. Pretty lame plot I must admit, plus all of the main characters are stereotypes. Shannon plays the cute girl who needs saving. You have the guy that doesn't have money but is really a good guy, then you have the party college guy who uses drugs to rape girls. Add on that the girls geeky brother, who doesn't get girls and spends too much time on his projects. This movie is stereotypes galore with characters and plot

However, if the movie is viewed for what it is, and that's just a silly made for TV movie about so called stereotypical college students at on Spring Break then it's actually quite entertaining, and a pretty fun movie to watch. Don't take it seriously.

The Gifted (I) (2017–2019)
9/10
Season 1 was epic, Season 2 failed, and I think they would have gotten Season 3 right
5 August 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The first season was good. You learn of the back story of the Mutant Underground and the war that is expected between mutants and humans. Agent Turner is always hot on their heels as he has ulterior motives due to his daughter's death on the 7/15 mutant attacks. So now he thinks all mutants are "evil" and up to no good and that is exactly where the show gets it wrong, they focus way too heavily on that and never let the character grow.

But they did have some positives, like the focus of the Strucker family in season 1. Andy and Lauren have secretly been mutants, but dont tell their father, because he works for the law putting them away. But after Andy, the son, is bullied at a school dance, his powers are exposed as he destroys the school displaying his anger through the trauma he just endured. Lauren, the daughter, is also outed as she comes to Andy's rescue. After the parents learn of this surprise, they go on the run, eventually connecting with the Underground as they go through challenges. The first season is definitely worth watching.

The 2nd season suffers from a lack of character evolution and as stated before way to much attention on agent Turner's anger issues revolving around the 7/15 attacks. He is so close minded that he joins a mutant hate group after he quits his job and is separated. As a viewer it's infuriating to watch, because you know this arc is played out. Put on the top that John and Marcos are emotional and unrealistic in how to lead the underground.

This show had so much potential and as an X-Men fan it was pretty good. And if given another opportunity, I believe the writers would have fixed the mistakes of season 2 and given the show the depth it needed and deserved.
