Its not a fresh story or idea but still you will love it if you give it time It grows upon you..the odd characters the romance and all Was part of my binge watch every night before sleep Will miss it!!

Negatives -- Bit melodramatic, trying hard to create suspense Positive-- great music, first of its kind in Bengali Series, unique storyline

Cant understand the negative ratings.

This series deserves a 8 just for the initiative

Grat music composition

Tomke valibese os an amazong song..can liaten to it everyday Bikram is also good Rupshais a bit melodramatic and overacting is a problem

But still must watch

Dont try to compare with netflix series with big budgets and all.

Cant understand the rating!! This is a comic masterclass in Bengali movies.

Parambrata along with all other terrific star cast provide adequate punch..dialogues are sarcastic funny

Have watched it twice and loved it

Absolutely no negative .. Birsa rocked thus one.

Manojder Adbhut Bari (2018)

Disastrous

Look I will be very practical..the only director who could have done justice to Sirshendus books would have been Ray and only Ray..Sirshendus spun a web of fantasy which is very difficult to portray in a movie But nobigonjer doitto made a nice attempt I had high hopes because of the great cast here ..Soumitra,Bratya,Rojotavo..but it was a complete let down

Eken Babu (2018– )

An unlikely surprise

Well after 1-2 episodes I was like..well this guy is trying to imitate @Jatayu! The series is another trash from Hoichoi!

But after watching the 3 series in row I can say Eken Babu is a fresh breath in the world of Bengali detectives! He is absolutely opposite of what a traditional Tiktitki -- I would recommend everyone to watch it

It's like trying to gag you with emotions and that doesn't work!! Would have loved if it was not so over the head! The recreation of Durga Puja of such magnitude can cost around 15-20 crores! I can see why Srijit showed that the father worked in switzerland--of course he can be an industrialist with huge amount of money --but yeah this kind of grandeur wasn't needed I could understand why the director had to show the director's past life to highlight the kind of efforts he is putting in the activity but dialogues like --Its not just about your daughter, but its about making the greatest film of my life! Dialogues like that leave a sour taste and you feel like whats his real intention was

Then Srijit himself played a cameo -- that particular role was just not needed!! I can go on and on and on ..I miss to understand how Srijit cant see these flaws when we ordinary viewers can see this.. Acting in general was OK -- nothing to complain about--5 stars from me for the effort in general as the attempt was genuine, acting was adequate, music was nice.

Bharat (2019)

Exceeds expectations :)

Well its a Salman Khan movie --so hopes were not high!

But I am pleasantly surprised at the choices he is making in recent time. Even Bharat ( a remake of Ode to my father) is not a run out of the mill bollywood movie

Yes it has illogically fit and young looking Salman @70! some unbelievable action at that age But I still think its a 1 time watch if you believe that so many strange things can happen in one lifetime

Bhoot Chaturdashi (2019)

I had little anticipation for a good plot but never thought it would be such crap! How the hell they landed up back to the same old haunted house and even if so, why they should go back in there? Unbelievable plot--to add to that the couples started romancing there! Stuck in an old haunted house --with snakes and dust and all--best place to propose for a marriage! And the ending--what happened to the guy called Rono-was that a hallucination? Or the director wanted to shoot a great night shot and imagined that stuff up!

Hard to believe that it has a rating of 4.4!! Should be hardly 1-2

Gully Boy (2019)

One of the rarest breed of movie in Bollywood

Not a fan of raps and neither do I like Ranveer that much! So was not all excited for the movie

1st hour into the movie-- Rap is awesome and Alia ,Siddhant and in fact whole support cast killing it!

Ranveer looks so pale in their comparison 2nd hour--Kalki,more awesome songs and still not impressed with Ranveer

By the time Aapna time ayenga finishes I was convinced this was Ranveer's best performance!

From a shaky, underconfident boy who didn't want to voice his own poetry to a guy who is quite sure " his time will come"-- he made sure this journey was completely believable You can see transformation from Murad to Gully Boy

This movie will be etched in my memory! Didn't find any flaw in the movie!! Recommended!!!!!!!

Wedding Anniversary (I) (2017)

Couldn't go through the whole film

This year I was unable to go through two films--one of them was Race 3! Well, I think that summarizes it all!

I really hope the movie provides a plausible answer to all the questions it raised otherwise it will be purely gibberish.

Its just that I couldnt go through it--left at about 50 mins I think!

Amazon Obhijaan (2017)

Watch yourself and then decide!!

I do not understand how some people have rated it 8/10 stars! The last movie from the franchise was a much better effort . I completely agree that the novel although written so long back was so illustrious that it would have been a very tough task to do justice to it!

But then why try such movies and make a laughing stock of yourself! Every CGI looked childish and all animals in the movie seemed like from a cartoon movie--Bengali films still do not have that kind of budget that they can spend on such gala CGIs. Obviously the result was childish --the scene where a snake was on the hero's body seemed to just pass through him!

And dont let me start on the pumas and the anaconda!

ACting was pure trash! Dev has improved a lot recently but here he again threw off hsi towel! The foreign male actor, David, I assume, however should win a prize for over acting!

Race 3 (2018)

Rarely comes a movie which you can hardly watch for 20 minutes

Rarely comes a movie which me and my wife can't stand for 20-30 minutes! After sitting in front of the TV and all the time scrolling our phones also we finally called it a day after 25 minutes , I guess!

I am a generous rater as you can see from my other reviews but this is utter rubbish!

Mulk (I) (2018)

I must have lost taste in movies.or I read the ratings wrongly!

I may be generous in giving ratings! If I consider a movie one time watch i would give it 6 rating, and better than average-7! Almost like school ratings --6 and 7 were grades were marks that ensured that students are not pathetic and failing! So I don't understand on what basis some people rated the movie--1 or2 or 3! If Ra one can have 4.8 rating mulk doesnt deserve 5.8!

The length and editing was tight-- Rishi Kapoor,Kumud Mishra were excellent although Tapsi was not in its best form--but still good. The situation presented here is quite a normal situation in India and more so now that people are more talking about "them"and üs"! Terrorism is not related to religion and acts like hooliganism done by hindu organizations should also be considered as terrorism! The atrocities Brahmins used to do by creating upper caste and lower caste is also terrorism!

However one has to admit that in recent times violent terrorism has come out of Islam and hence a dialogue in the movie really hit the right chord -- Muslims should be more careful as many young kids of their religion are getting radicalized!

The movie doesn't give entertainment and dance numbers--it's for serious watching and at least I didnt feel it boring!

Dhadak (2018)

Don't judge by the rating

Disclaimer--I have seen Sairat and in spite of that gave this 6 rating!

If you haven't seen Sairat then it's a good start--probably you will enjoy the movie more than us who have seen it and invariably comparing the two on our minds!

Sairat was a classic and there is no way to recreate that magic--the innocence of Parshea and confidence of Archie was something which we shouldn't expect from this film --one of the reason for that was the originality and no doubt the direction, cinematography, editing, music..yeah almost everything. But in spite of that i would say that movie was watchable --music was not fresh(as we have heard Sairat) but still really nice! Acting was good--yes , I really don't understand what people meant when they said both were lacklustre ! Yes, the struggle faced by the couple here was nothing compared to what was shown in the Sairat movie -- the fights the couple had when they were failing to adjust to the new life was not well depicted and that was probably the only flaw in the film as far as I can comment --the reason Sairat came out as it was because it was the triumph of love over immense struggle,pain, adjustment -here the struggle seemed like something which probably 20-30% of all the couples doing love marriage in India suffer!

Jokes apart, this was the only flaw in the film apart from the fact that the overall cast in Sairat was really great--strong roles like Balya was missing here. Khwaraj as the Mess manager was nice. There was a twist in the end and that was also predictable as it unfathoms! But still I would say go ahead and watch it- better than Race3,Golmaal 4 any day--so rating of 4.1 doesnt make sense!

Bhavesh Joshi Superhero (2018)

Great movie with minor flaws

If there were not some major flaws in the movie like the guy easily hacking immigration site to update his status of boarding a flight to USA,police never enquiring his office whether he is working at the onsite assignment and he roaming around the city taking the risk of police or someone of the goons to see him(let alone his colleagues or friends or friends of friends in the city)......

this movie would have been a perfect treatment of what I would say the first true superhero movie of India..not the childish adaptations like Krish.

Bhavesh Joshi and his friend, Sikku wanted to bring a change and obviously they are not bruce Wayne or Peter Parker or Tony Stark. but what mattered is they tried and here lies the crust of the film--a superhero is one who tries to bring a change even though he may fail doing that.

The treatment of the movie was awesome --acting brilliant! Both the guys enacted Sikku and Bhavesh Joshi perfectly. I tried not to create a spoiler--go watch it if you liked Nolan's adaptation of Batman ( not that are remotely comparable in class but because they tell us superheroes are ordinary human beings like us but they try and care to bring a difference)

October (II) (2018)

Loved it!

I gave 10 rating to the movie, simply because I couldn't find any flaw in it --not in the script, not in the editing, background music, acting --I can go on.. If I would make a remake I would not change anything -- me and my wife started watching it around 10-30 in the night and I thought it might be slow and she might fell asleep! But we stayed awake till the credit--the slowness was enjoyable, each and every frame was shot beautifully -the #October theme# was melancholic, yet oozed hope in times. Varun Dhawan is a fantastic actor, as he has shown in Badlapur--as long as he does a movie like this in a year I dont care if he does Judwaa2, Humpty Sharma etc to make money. See the movie with your loved one!

Welcome Back (2015)

Don't waste valuable time of your life watching this

music--awful script--one of the worst, even stalwarts like naseruddin shah or paresh rawal looked idiotic due to scripts

action sequence--these kind of action sequences were shown in 90s

acting--out of the 1000 one liners in the movie, maybe 2-3 can really make you giggle

Anees Bazmee creates below average films -thats true, but this one is definitely one of his worst!

It's hard to believe these kind of movies are coming out in 2015!!

Don't waste your time
