Howl (I) (2015)

I had much higher hopes going into this movie and was quite disappointed after finishing watching it.

It took a bit for the movie to get into the actual plot which annoyed me a bit and focused more on the 'love story' of the main character and how depressing his life is. Then out of nowhere...... there is the plot and it hits you right it the face. After this point unfortunately everything becomes predictable, who is going to die next, where are they going to go, what are they going to do, all predictable.

When the end finally came (also predictable) they could have ended it so much better. As it says in the notes, they must survive until morning, but there is no reason that even if they stayed on the train these 'beings' would have left once the sun did rise so was very disappointing that they whole movie from beginning to end didn't really tie in together.

The only good thing about this movie was the graphics, they did a good job with the costume design of the 'beings' also with what gore was included.

Probably something i wouldn't recommend or watch again.

Crimson Peak (2015)

good trailer - not so good movie

When first seeing the trailer for this movie it looked fantastic, however after watching the movie i was very disappointed. One of the things that got me interested in going to watch the movie to begin with was the male lead role played by Tom Hiddleston, and he played is part well.

It took a very long time to get into the movie and give you enough information to follow the movie then summed the lot up within the last half hour or so.

something else that confused me and wasn't answered at the end was that Ediths mothers ghost warns her at the beginning of the movie to beware of Crimson Peak. No where in the movie did it explain how she was connected which i think if this was explained or if she was in someway connected to crimson peak, this should have been explained.

I also believe they could of explained more about crimson peak during the start of the movie, which just dragged on, and those women who died there. There was a bit of information shared however again not until much later on in the movie.

The movie was also predictable, the incest which wasn't 'discovered' until the end of the movie was made quite obvious at the start along with many others i wont go into.

overall not the best movie i have watched this year and i think they could have done a much better job with it.

The Martian (2015)

Great Movie

Didn't have much hope for this movie however it turned out to be one of my favorite movie for this year. This movie kept me to the edge of my seat the entire movie wondering what was going to happen next.

each scene rolls on from the next smoothly, there is a lot of emotion that get you to really care about the characters and their situations all mixed in with some comedy which suites matt damon well.

the movie jumps strait into the plot so there isn't any waiting for the plot to start and keeps you interested the entire movie.

Overall this was a fantastic movie and i would defiantly watch it again.

Zombeavers (2014)

OK but not great

As with sharknado, i really pushed back watching this movie and i am both glad i did and didn't.

Very similar to sharknado, this movie stepped over the boundaries previous movies in the genre has set. The graphics in this movie is terrible and yes i get that it is a "comedy'type to have them look like stuffed animals however it just made the movie look cheap.

adding a little bit of animation wouldn't have hurt in this case and would have made it so much better.

they stuck to the same sort of 'death scene' as other movies in the genre which was good.

Overall not a great movie and probably wont watch it again however will be willing to watch a sequel.

Sharknado (2013 TV Movie)

Funny

I honestly didn't have much hope for this movie and have been holding off watching it for quite a while and I'm sort of glad i did.

I really enjoyed watching this movie, maybe not as much as other more realistic movies, but thought it was really funny.

From the start i enjoyed picking out all the wrong things in the movie and all the unbelievable and the funny and it was a big joke among friends.

Other than the obvious flaws that they have put in the movie purposely where some are funny and some a stupid, the story line wasn't that great.

I understand its a 'stupid comedy'like zombeavers however i found the story line of this movie to be all over that place and unpredictable which i don't like in these sorts of films.

I'm giving it 4 stars because it was a funny movie but very very different to others in the genre and i don't think it worked very well in this case. good try but stick to what you know.

Camp X-Ray (2014)

Was OK

I was really excited to see this movie. I have to admit i didn't read what it was about or watch a trailer prior to watching this movie however wanted to watch a movie with Kirsten Stewart in it other than twilight.

Kirsten Stewart did a great job in this movie and loved her role. However there were parts in the movie that i don't think had any important part in this movie.

All the other characters in the movie I can not recall seeing prior so this didn't help at all to attention with the movie and made it seem very low grade.

It was really hard for me to make a connection to any of the characters in this movie and although they do explain part of what this movie is about at the start it was really hard for me to keep up overall.

The ending came pretty sudden and didn't really work well for me. They finished answering all the questions (the ones i picked up anyway) but it didn't leave me with that Awww or WOW factor most people look for in movies.

Over all I was glad that i watched it however it probably wont be one i would purchase in future or be the first one i grab off the shelf.

Exists (2014)

Loved it

Loved loved loved loved this movie and the premise behind it. The graphics could have been better compared to other movies these days but they worked well with what they had.

I cant say that this movie held my interest the entire time and i did get distracted a couple of times.

The start of this movie was really confusing. it shows clipets which i can only assume is to get you into the movie but this didn't happen for me until the movie actually started.

the movie kept me trying to guess what was going to happen next and i got so anxious and even closed my eyes then replayed some parts so i knew when something was going to happen.

Then end was the best part and it appealed to me most because it makes the whole movie come together ( as it should) and you get a rush of emotion when you figure it all out.

defiantly a movie you should watch at lease twice.

The Mummy Resurrected (2014)

Which they kept with the original stories

This movie was nothing like the others and confused me a lot. It was really hard to fully focus on the movie and the story behind it.

I had high hopes for this movie loving all the movies similar but this one was just ridiculous. The Graphics were all over the place and its really hard for me to say anything good about it.

At the start of the movie it gives almost the whole story away and every step is almost as predictable as the last.

I really wish they would have branched somehow of the original mummy movies. it was even hard to connect to the characters. This movie went really fast for me and when it finished i felt like i had only been watching it for ten minutes.

Don't think this would be a movie i would ever watch again.

Expelled (2014)

Funny Funny Funny

What can i say? It had everything a comedy needs without being over the top.

Its one of those movies that are narrated throughout my the main actor which really adds to the story and i don't think it would have been even half as good without this.

The movie kept throwing more and more at you which was great. More problems = more comedy.

There is nothing really bad i can say about the movie other then the brothers place. He was weird and funny which i suppose fits in but he didn't fit in with every one else.

Great movie overall.

Ouija (II) (2014)

pretty sad for a thriller

When I first saw the trailer for this movie I was so excited for it to come out that as soon as it did I went and hired it.

HOWEVER...

I was so disappointed after watching it. During the whole movie i was sitting on the lounge leaning forward every couple of minutes waiting for something it happen..... and then nothing does. Everything that is shown in the trailer is all the best parts fit snug into a 3 minutes video.

Every gory scene I was so disappointed with how they did it. They could have done such a better job.

On a good note it was very unpredictable throughout the entire movie and the graphics were pretty good along with the story line.

Wishmaster 3: Beyond the Gates of Hell (2001 Video)

Considering I haven't watched the previous movies and don't watch many old time horrors this movie was great.

The storyline was good and kept you thinking throughout the whole movie but was also pretty predictable which occurs in most movies now anyway.

The Gore and the graphics were good considering it was made quite a few years ago and isn't as horrifying as say ghost ship but still good graphics.

The movie jumped strait into the story line with not much back story but it worked for this movie and was very glad I didn't need to watch the previous movies to understand what was going on.

Overall very excited to watch number 4 and will defiantly give older movies a chance in the future.

The Maze Runner (2014)

really good movie overall

I would have given this a ten but it annoyed me the way it ended. It left so many unanswered questions.

The movie started right in the middle of the movie so there wasn't to much back story which in this movie worked well for this particular movie. You didn't need to know the back story at the start as they explained it throughout the movie.

The first 10 minutes or so were a little boring but after that the rest of the movie was pretty interesting. The suspense slowly built throughout the movie and your always asking the same question... what is the maze.

Good actors and great graphics and I cannot wait for them to bring out a 2nd one.... and they better.

Would defiantly recommend watching this movie to everyone.

The Mirror (III) (2014)

Liked it but hated it too.

I'm only giving it a 5 because its the first movie I have watched in a very long time that has actually scared the ... out of me. And I don't scare easy.

The parts that I was able to watch were pretty good.

The introduction was really good, not too long and not to short and explained enough but didn't give too much away.

The suspense slowly built up throughout the whole movie which made it even scarier in a good way.

For a movie that is filmed like paranormal activity, they did such a better job at it then they did, the graphics were really good.

Overall it was a good movie and would try to watch it again start to finish during day time. My recommendations is to not watch it in the dark, cover up all the mirrors in the house and watch it with someone you can bury your face into. :)

Gravity (2013)

not the greatest

i watched this movie today and my partner really enjoyed it but I didn't see the fascination in it. the best part of it was when she got into the ship and took her suit off.... she looks great with short hair and that George Cloony was in it. If it wasn't for these two points I don't think I would have watched the whole movie. The most exciting part was when she was falling and escaped.. but like all other movies, you always want to see a happy ending. I also didn't like and was really disappointed with the ending. They could have showed a little more about after-wards.

All in all to me it was just a 90 minute movie of Sandra Bullock in space.

Trick 'r Treat (2007)

I know this movie was made in 2007 but come on where are you getting your ideas for movies from. I only wanted to watch this movie because i love Anna Panquin but i got so bored and UN-impressed by this movie I turned it off after the scene with Anna Panquin. This movie is filmed like a movie from 1970 not 2007 and who ever wrote this needs to seriously get it together.

I would never watch this movie again nor would I suggest it for any one to watch.

Total waste of time. I would rather watch Twilight.... in saying that I love twilight.
