Supernatural: Road Trip (2014)
Let the voting begin!
First of all - the ninth season really goes the way I enjoy! Back to the episode: We start where we left the last time - death of the "P"rophet. The funeral - I think they killed me, so emotional it was! It reminded me the funeral of John a lot and it was so sad seeing Dean completely in despair. Later Castiel joins Dean in the bunker and together they discuss what Dean truly did to protect Sam. Meanwhile more information about Gadreel is told. Seeking for his rehabilitation Gadreel is capable of murder of his old-best friend, despite the fact he has his own family. Dean is ready to negotiate with the demon in the dungeon - Crowley himself. He requires "a massage" and all three of them (Castiel, Dean and Crowley) are on their way to catch Gadreel. They visit a "loyal demon" of Crowley, Cecily, who gives Crowley information about the ongoing wars in Heaven and in Hell. She finds Impala for Crowley as well and that means Gadreel is found. He is caught right after the murder of Abner ("friend" of Gadreel). Crowley begins with his art, trying to get to real Sam - but Gadreel is strong enough to resist. They have to choose a different strategy - Crowley suggests possessing Sam to wake him up in exchange for Crowley's freedom. The moment Dean agrees, so it happens. Sam rejects Gadreel who later possesses his ex-vessel, Crowley walks free - just in time for Abaddon's arrival. Castiel, Sam and Dean run away, Crowley faces Abaddon - he reminds her that not all of the demons are on her side (Vote Crowley ;) and then he vanishes. Dean chooses to leave Sam to avoid losses...
This episode was an excellent example to remind us why we love the show. There were so many characters in Road Trip, but it all worked together. I really enjoyed Gadreel's story, return of his ex-vessel and the scenes with Crowley - he surely is the charismatic King (Although i am a huge fan of Abaddon as well- You may not like her, but she's got style!)Now to the actors (I'm still clapping in my mind). I've already mentioned how strong was the opening, but Jensen keeps the high level all the time. As well as the others of course! Jared had the opportunity to give more space to Gadreel - and he was really scary. His blind faith that what he's doing is right - you wouldn't invite him for a cup of tea I think...Castiel taking Gadreel down- one of the best parts ever! The problem is I simply can't pick up the best moment of this episode - too many of them - "torturing" Gadreel, Crowley inside Moose's head, Cas vs. Gadreel, Crowley vs. Abaddon, Dean watching Kevin burn, Dean watching Sam suffer...The last scene, dear God!... Another thing to be mentioned: technical stuff - work with camera and light was awesome! And the location choices! The abandoned factory/warehouse where Crowley tries to rescue Sam - Did you notice the ventilator? (scene when Dean wants Castiel to humor him) It absolutely reminded me season 4 - On The Head of A Pin Dean vs. Alastair and of course Bobby's panic room - using the motive of ventilator was very clever.
Simply: Supernatural, you made my day! ....PS: And don't forget to vote! :D
Supernatural: Holy Terror (2013)
The war is coming!
And here we are! Metatron feels lonely, poor guy! (I swear I'd stab him first I met him...)Whatever. A group of "singing-angels" kills a bunch of the angles from another team. This shows us how the war is going to be led. Cas tries to investigate, Sam and Dean are on their way to help. BUT Ezekiel has problem with it again. After they went together in a bar, Zeke has to go out and surprise! Metatron is aware of Ezekiel's non-Ezekiel face. Who is he? Dean protects his brother (Fool!), so he send Cas again away. Another murder happens, new leader of the angels has risen - Malachi, the anarchist. Cas prays for help, who comes, but it was a(innocent) trap. Malachi and Theo capture Cas and torture him. Meanwhile "Not-Ezekiel" is dating Metatron - so now we know Gadreel is his name. He was supposed to keep evil away from the Paradise and he failed. But Metatron has a plan for him; they can create new Heaven for a few of the chosen ones. Metatron's name: "X", the new God in fact (of the heavenly Hell I'd say). During Cas's torment, he found out that real Ezekiel hadn't survived the expulsion. Human-Cas outsmarts Theo, steals his Grace and goes into battle. He informs Dean about Ezekiel's death and his will to fight. Dean immediately speaks to Kevin, trying to find out a spell, that could make Gadreel deaf. Although this Gadreel is really good actor, he was commanded by Metatron to neutralize someone and in the end we understand. Kevin is dead!
What a great mid-season finale! The atmosphere is so chaotic, like in a real war, the murders (not talking about Kev's) are great delivered (Singing bus!). Big standing ovations to the actors! New characters (Theo (for a while), Malachi) are well introduced, Misha and the torture, Misha and his prayers, Misha in the bar! CAS is back on the road, or "in the town" as he says. The phone call to Dean - it reminded me season 4 in some ways..I don't know why, but the feeling was there! Jared Padalecki and his 2 at once characters? *Clap, clap* And Jensen Ackles. I have to admit, that the end made me cry, I'm proud to say it to honor Jared, Osric and Jensen who delivered very emotional finale (again!).
Loads of questions lie ahead - what now with Gadreel, how to get back Sam, what about Crowley and the deal that's going to be made, what about angels and their on-going war now, when Cas is "ON", how about the reaction of demons- especially our Queen of Hell and what about Kevin or another prophet? Dean, Cas, I wish you good luck!
10/10, definitely!
Supernatural: Rock and a Hard Place (2013)
Have faith! It's not your fault!
This seems to be another MOTW episode and for the most people it is. There are victims, Sam and Dean as the investigators and Jody Mills as a co-worker. There are some funny parts of the story (a porn star "reborn") and some mythological stuff about Vesta, goddess of hearth and her "virgins". But that's not what I find the most important in this episode. There are some nice moments in Jody's and Sam's speeches. First we see that the angelic problem of finding vessels is still going on and Jody was a little bit scared of that thing. This is important because we find out, that Jody turned herself to church after experience she had been through - Bobby's death, date with Crowley etc. She seems to have faith although all her life is kind of "Job's" exams style. Sam on the other hand thinks something went terribly wrong and what's more, it doesn't have to be something from outside, but it might be himself. He loses faith in recovery, Vesta only makes that worse and in the end we can see how much bothered he is. Dean in this moment almost reveals Sam the truth about the presence of Ezekiel, but "Zeke" puts in this and warns Dean again. I really do see something wicked coming from this Zeke-angel...Dean at least advised Sam to have faith. If you remember the position of Dean in the fifth season when he wanted to say Yes to Michael, when he almost lost his faith in better ending, I think it's a deeper advice than it seems at first sight. Not the best episode of the ninth season till now, but it shows the seriousness of faith, sincerity and inner doubts. In this episode you have to go under the surface.
Supernatural: Bad Boys (2013)
Take your brother outside as fast as you can. Now, Dean go!
If this episode was involved in the first season, nobody could say it didn't belong there. It was such a great nostalgia! There are two stories put together and it really works. Dean remembers his 16-years old him, meanwhile a ghost is hunting the "reformatory". Dean's story is well introduced, the first-kiss story is well performed (the "new" actor of young Dean really did great job being Dean...). The ghost case is creepy, obvious "Mama" allusions, but it still catches the eye till the end. The murder in a bath! With "Ave Maria" song!(I've just seen Maniac - with Elijah Wood - and now I understand where did SPN took inspiration) How loyal to the good old one feeling from first seasons of SPN. Back to young Dean - do you remember the lovely piano song that first (I think) appeared in "In My Time of Dying"?! It's here again and in the end of this episode, it delivers so many emotions...Plus Samulet! They brought it back on the stage as well! I'm really satisfied with this nostalgic, Dean- concentrated episode. Fear, emotions, good music, good story → 10/10! (little think I missed - John (Jeffrey Dean Morgan)in the end...But he was in the beginning with the legendary Take your brother outside as fast as you can. Now, Dean go! so no problem with me;) )
Supernatural: Clip Show (2013)
Gain hope or lose hope?
After the great episode comes another one!
The story was reunited to be divided into parallels again - Cas meets Metatron who wants to shut the gates of Heaven to restore peace up there. He wants to protect people from the Angel-war and Cas is chosen to do the trials. Sam and Dean try to find out the way how to cure a demon. They found a movie which contains "odd exorcism". After that they understand they've found a possible way how to complete the third task. They want to practice that - Abaddon could be used for that. But they are interrupted - Crowley wants desperately Kevin, tablets and wants to stop Sam and Dean from the Closing-Hell-Mission. To do that he kills the "survivors" of the solved cases of Sam and Dean.
What I think is that in this episode Crowley really shows how evil he is. Abaddon is also back - her moment is a bit funny (the hand-thing) but more disturbing in fact. We are informed it was her who'd killed father Thompson and we see her reaction on the news that Crowley is now the King of Hell.
Another positive thing is the way that Sam and Dean react on Crowleys threats. They want to save people and hunt the things as Crowley says and that brings us to the very beginning of the show, not speaking about the murders of the "living"ones - the flashbacks are great. Crowley's speech is very drama-like, kind of Shakespeare monologue I'd say and it fits his character so much!
Also the idea of watching the movie, showing us the cases of father Thompson- that was brilliant! (the first one very horror-like, the second one with cured demon full of hope!)
It's the good way how to introduce the final, although I think that the Castiel-closing-Heaven-storyline is a bit rushed and I'd appreciate if there was more space for it (some of the previous episodes weren't so important - like Freaks and Geeks...I have the impression that it stole the space that could've been used for this storyline maybe...) - but no matter, this episode continues with the high level and I'm thrilled for the final!
Supernatural: The Great Escapist (2013)
Create stories and become gods!
The SPN fan's dream came true. One of the best (for me the best) episodes after Kripke had left the show! Definitely the best episode of the eighth season up till now.
My arguments?
1) Great narration
From the beginning of the episode three parallel story lines are introduced to us. The first one is about Kevin and Crowley. The second one - Sam and Dean trying to find Metatron, the last one Castiel and Naomi. As the story of the episode continues, the parallels are crossing each others - Crowley meets Naomi and Castiel, Kevin is saved by Metatron. In the very end of the episode, it's Cas who completely reunites the whole story.
2) Depth of the characters
After the previous very emotional episode this one had to aim high. And it jumped miles over the level of the last one.
Kevin - firstly shows us something more than translating the tablet. He reveals the reason why he was in advanced placement - he is smart! The PC message he left for Winchesters was really good delivered!
Naomi - we know she ordered Cas to kill Dean if it's necessary, in this one she shows us that angels are not better than before - killing first- born children in Egypt, the whole Apocalypse and after Apocalypse mess, killing in the Biggerson's + manipulating all the time.
Cas - two sentences and it was again the OLD GOOD ONE Cas - "We were supposed to be their shepherds, not their murderers. + In the words of a — good friend... bite me."
Sam + Dean - when you can discover main characters after 8 seasons, it is amazing! It's the reason why we watch SPN! And in this episode information about their childhood came on the surface. Sam's speech about the purifying effect of the trials! Padalecki should be rewarded for that. Dean always there to take care of his brother no matter what (ice cubes as well)- that's the hunters we (don't completely :D) know!
Metatron - angel who didn't care for the mankind. Didn't care for the Apocalypse. I think he's hiding something, but for now: it was great introduction of the new character. He was mentioned when the tablets firstly came out, now he's alive and kicking. When he talked about the history of Heaven, about God leaving, archangels scheming, trying to rule the universe it really made me remember the fifth season!
Crowley - clever enough to cooperate with an angel again (Ion) and smart as Hell about the hideout of the Angel tablet; good enough to create bullets against the angles, but after all we can finally see that he can be defeated as well.
3) The details!
Biggerson's murders! "They said you have to stop." Crowley pulling out the tablet, Castiel pulling out the bullet. That's the impression I'm talking about - the creators didn't care about blood, missing eyes and together it also delivers the horror atmosphere!
Crowley's "directing" in the real directing!
4) Choices and stories, depth of dialogs
I have to point out those two motives because it's something that is so specific for SPN. We haven't heard about the consequences of closing the hell gates at all, but in this episode Metatron finally questions "the quest". "It's your choice. And that's what this has all been about, the choices your kind make. But you're gonna have to weigh that choice. Ask yourself: what is it going to take to do this, and what will the world be like after it's done?"
The motive of free will is also very "first 5 seasons" like as well as the importance of the stories (→ God and his will...Someone keeping Chuck in mind? His words about being a god who puts his characters into "this". "I'm a god. A cruel, cruel, capricious god. The things I put you through. The physical beatings alone!":) It's good to hear Metatron talking about that: "But really... really, it was your storytelling. That is the true flower of free will. At least as you've mastered it so far. When you create stories, you become gods, of tiny, intricate dimensions unto themselves."
5) Despite the serious theme they managed to keep funny moments as well! Dean talking to the receptionist at the hotel about Sam's flu, Crowleys quotes about "polite demons"...
6) Camera, acting!
This episode had everything what a real SPN fan needs and opens doors to the finale of the season more than satisfactorily. (Maybe there was no super song, but the positive things I've mentioned outweighed.) 10/10!
Supernatural: Taxi Driver (2013)
Fast as Taxi, somehow "UnSupernatural"
First of all I have to say that this episode was a big disappointment for me.
We just jump into the action. Kevin translated another part of the tablet, the trial is to deliver an innocent soul from Hell to Heaven. I can't get why Kevin was kept on the houseboat - it was not safe after all, I think that Sam and Dean could move him into the Man of Letters hideout (they brought there the Titan and his "family", didn't they? So why not Kevin, who needed more protection!)
Crowley in this episode acted like "desperate" Voldemort - talking to Kevin's head, speech "I am forever" and thinks not going as well as he pictured...Well I have to say that the King of Hell, who doesn't have control over his kingdom is a bad king. (How the Hell did Sam manage to go there not being spotted by Crowley?! He had to be informed by some demon, then he had to go to have a chat with Ajay...)
Now Sam in Purgatory - Cas and Crowley wanted to find the entrance to Purgatory for the whole sixth season? In this episode easier way was introduced...Mistake? (another thing that makes Crowley look stupid)
Sam in Hell...Why did they even have to show us - as it's said by someone here - the Hell was so great because it wasn't shown in the details - Dean being tortured in Hell is the best Hell ever! This episode just made his (and John's and others' suffering awkward - everything what they needed was a good man who would have entered Hell, took his soul into his arm and leave...nonsense!(Of course Alastair was a different class!) And what happened to the Crowley's Hell - people waiting in a row - waiting there forever? The Hell reminded me the bad scenery where Osiris had his "court" - cheap, TV like...(of course it's a TV show but SPN was known for their "movie-like" qualities!) In the end - the Hell wasn't Hell at all...And how did Sam manage to find Bobby so quickly? Millions of souls should suffer there...Very half-baked...
Kevin's mom death - was not shown...
Positive things - Benny's sacrifice. Good moment between Jensen and Ty; Bobby.
As far as I'm concerned, I have to say that the style of narration is not typical Supernatural-way, something odd is floating there...(and the mistakes of writers are more visible than ever...)
Supernatural: Remember the Titans (2013)
Swan Song of Prometheus
This episode turned out to be one of the most boring episodes of Supernatural. The plot about man who is dying every day is weird (sometimes the eagle comes, sometimes not - why?) - obviously they totally forgot the part of the Prometheus' myth, when Heracles saved him..and in the end of the myth, Heracles is forced to wear a ring with the stone from the Caucasus Mountains.
The story with Prometheus'son is just stupid. Everything goes really fast, we don't have much time to empathize with the kid, Hayley or Artemis. Boom - titans - boom - Zeus - boom - spell - boom - bones and fulgurite - boom- trapped Zeus - boom - Artemis loves Prometheus? - boom - the end ;)
I can clearly say that if everyone (except the brothers of course) died in the episode, it would be OK with me, because I wasn't curious at all.
Best things? The actor who played Zeus had a lot of charisma and if he played some demon it could have been great.
Dean prays to Cas to watch over Sam.
Supernatural: Trial and Error (2013)
Triwizard Tournament meets Supernatural
First of all: Dean in the Men of Letters cave - perfect scene! He has his own room, preparing delicious burger (his waiting for Sam's reaction = Priceless - like little child waiting for parents'reaction on its drawings. "Wau!" "You're welcome.")
Kevin translates the tablet and found out the first of three tasks - One of the brothers "must survive three tasks. Three extremely dangerous tasks." The first task is to kill a hellhound. To this point, I was really thrilled.
With the arrival on the farm it wasn't as good as it could be, i think another story would be more interesting, but the detection, that Crowley was involved in it, was good.
What I didn't like was the image of hellhounds - I think that people fear of the invisible much more. The imagination can work...
On the other hand, the brother moment was great - it's kind of sad that Dean has the suicidal mood, but in the gesture of trust Sam to do the trials we can see hope.
Good moments of brothers and Kevin, the "farm-story" could be better. 8/10
Supernatural: Everybody Hates Hitler (2013)
Family business
Well, if there is a reason why to continue with Winchesters on their road, this episode is one of them. What an original idea to bring us to the time of WW2 and show us, that the fight against monsters really has its "tradition".
First of all we're taken to the Men of Letters "Bat-cave". This is very interesting part because it's something brand new for the brothers. As it's said, their home is Impala, but now it seems they found a real four-walls building to live. Dean enjoys it as much as he can, Sam is fascinated with the knowledge he could find there. The atmosphere (with the music played on gramophone) is beautiful.
The story about Thule and Judah Initiative is very thrilling, the Golem was really well-done, scary enough, scenes with "it" and Dean funny too.
This episode reminded me the old series with its fascinating atmosphere (I prefer the "reunited" brotherhood to the tension between brothers..) and attracted my attention with the great plot and originality!
The end brings the importance of "legacies" - Aaron and his choice to continue in the "family business" as well as our two hunters discovering the world of Men of Letters.
Strong episode overall!
Supernatural: Blood Brother (2012)
Show goes to nowhere
Well...I really think that the eighth season is really Road to nowhere. New friend of Dean had a lot of potential..But the writers gave him a totally bad romance story and his vendetta plan.
I'm starting to think that the writers went mad - Vampires got the instinct of sensing human hearts beating. Obviously not in this case. The "Old man" with no charisma. Benny's love with no charisma...
Prophet of the Lord ran away - so now hunters are dependent on him and it's more about the Prophet than the Winchesters. They don't know what to do so how about ... Dean goes away from Sam, trying to help Benny.
Meanwhile Sam remembers Amelia. For God's sake.. what was that? Pardon me, but the colors, brightness, dialogues...It all created the atmosphere of a very cheap porn! I didn't know whether to start laughing or cry. Repairing sink? Oh, come on!!! It's worse than the soap operas...
Dean now really seems like a man who'd lost everything, including his brain...His train of thoughts is confused, he's unstable and I hate the writers that they damaged this amazing character.
I don't get it - leaving Kevin's girlfriend die, trying to kill Kevin's mother, hate monsters all the time but have a vampire as a friend, bad quotes, bad music or no music (Seriously?!!), no importance of the hunters, Crowley with bad or no plans, tablets, flashbacks that brings nothing new, only sentimental memories and on the top of that bad craft! Try not to laugh in the end of this episode - the slow motion footage of Sam pulling out his knife, Dean disapprovingly shaking his head...
I don't know..they buried my favorite show..but I'm still waiting for the resurrection...
Supernatural: Survival of the Fittest (2012)
Welcome to Purgatory...CD
This season wasn't perfect - we lost Impala for the most of the season, then Bobby (in this episode once and for all), new member Frank...and I 'm afraid we lost the villains with no style at all.
Crowley becomes the King No1 - no enemies on the road; Sam stands alone, Castiel and Dean in Purgatory. Kevin with the King and...Meg on the same place.
Very bad finale - it didn't have enough juice to catch the attention. Leviathans were so smart...to be killed by a bone...Bobby vanished like the writers forgot on him and then realized they have to do something with him...Do they realize that this character was there since the beginning? Writers, you torture us - you gave us some great nostalgic episodes and then bring the "tablet" thing, Castiel again on the feet (seriously again rescued and no one bothers to explain WHY and WHO - God is out of the game?!...) and you had to let Winchesters trust the demons again...I'm really disappointed..Out of ideas? Deus ex machina celebrates...
For me as a fan there is a very problematic scene...Would've Dean confided Meg his BABY??? ...When this is the end of the season and a beginning of the eighth season, I'm afraid I have to sing I See A Bad Moon Rising again...
Supernatural: The Born-Again Identity (2012)
Have a nap!
First things first. Jared did amazing job - I ate everything - from the stressful guy, who started to have problems after he had invited Lucifer deeper in his mind, drinking coffee all the time, to the man who wants to die - and even then, totally broken, he found out a way how to help a girl. You wanted hero? Here he is. Not selfish even when his time comes. Now Jared have so much experience! Lot of changes through the series! (Because Dean is my favorite character, I wish writers wrote him some good storyline as well.)
Mark Pellegrino proved he really was a good choice of Satan's vessel. I hated him and liked him at once. His torture methods were...satanic! Megaphone, firecrackers, fairy tales, diseases dictionary? Have a nap, Lucy!
The demons are back in the game. Meg - what a great character! I don 't think she would cooperate with Crowley one day - after all, she was Lucifer's good girl. The nurse-role was a good move. I wouldn't believe I'm gonna say this, but it gives her an aspect of humanity. (The thing Ruby always said she had, but never had in fact.)
Dean - always (well not always, but in the end, he is!) here to support his little brother, despite Sam doesn't want to be rescued - he knows he cannot be healed. Jensen brings the feeling of totally depressed but determined guy, calling all the friends of Bobby. (Someone talking about a ghost?)
There was a strange moment - reborn of Castiel. It should 've been explained much more than thinking about God's help...
The end of this episode is too fast to concentrate more on the brothers and brothers-Cas relationships, but i hope we will see it in next episodes.
Time to heal Sam before he dies. Mission Impossible completed! Maybe I gave it too many stars, but Jared deserves it in this episode.
Supernatural: Out with the Old (2012)
Stairway to Heaven
What a brilliant episode!
Cursed objects all over the town (I mean seriously - ballet shoes, tea kettle, porn magazine, old gramophone, ...!). Of course we remember the wonderful Bad Day At Bad Rock and this episode takes out the old, but in a new light. There are also problems with Leviathans, and as the good old song from season 1(!) reminds us I See A Bad Moon Rising ♫.
When I remember the music, this episode has really No1 soundtrack - Swan Lake (the gradation when the ballet dancer lost her feet was stunning - with the close looks on the broom! They made fun, drama, horror and ballet in the opening of the episode - within minutes!!!) and its variations! (Listen closely, the whole beginning -Sam and Dean chasing the shoes- is filled with the motive!). Then the gramophone song, song that plays in the car Sam drives and Creedence Clearwater Revival in the end. Such a nostalgic atmosphere!(Do you remember that the song Bad Moon Rising played during the car crash in the last episode of season 1? In this episode, we are really close to the car crash - nice job writers!) And of course we didn't hear that, but Lucifer 's singing Stairway to Heaven 50 times in a row!
This episode was another one, in which we discover the brotherhood of Winchesters. Sam is sincere about his Lucy-problem, can't even sleep and for a minute I really believed he could've died. Dean cares about Sammy, trying to make him fall asleep. But the problems just fall on their heads and there isn't a lot of time to sleep. They find a mess in Fank's "residence".
I have to admit that Joyce Bicklbee got on my nerves like Dolores Umbridge in Potter series. "No..Nononono...no" and "a Grande non-fat no- whip white mocha, one pump sugar-free, double-shot espresso, 'kay?" Great job that the actress delivered.
Supernatural: Season Seven, Time for a Wedding! (2011)
Wedding..seriously?
Another bad episode...Damn it, writers!
First I saw this is about Becky, i was sincerely terrified. This girl is totally annoying. And of course my expectations were right. After "maybe funny" beginning this episode was another piece of ... . Seriously stupid plot about Sam's wedding...Dean only a bit suspicious, he even brings waffle iron to him and then works with Garth. OK, he was funny guy, but unlike Fred, totally to nothing. IMHO Dean would bind Sam for his good and then he would "talk" to the "Bride" his way. He would look for hex bags as well and I think he would really at least check her bag... As it 's said, the speech of Sam was inappropriate. He should know Dean much more better than that..Do the writers know the characters?
The only thing I did enjoy was Crowley and his attitude to the demon who broke the rules. Because in his new hell, everything has its order!
And the second good thing - end of the Amy-story line...
Supernatural: Slash Fiction (2011)
Finally Something wicked this way comes
I enjoyed this episode after very average or below the average episodes so much!
Evil in the form of Leviathans reveals clever brains!
From the beginning: "Sam and Dean" were just the wright thing! Their "Pulp Fiction gets even madder (Pumpkin and Honey Bunny kill)" was so cool. Smart, really smart idea!
Then the Bobby-going-mad-because-of-no-way-how-to-kill-Leviathans part was so well played! Even Jody Mills played her role with Borax! So funny way how to clean mess from the Purgatory!
More serious theme of Dean and Sam! Get rid of their alias, credit cards, notebook and Impala! (Jensen's face!:D) All suggested by a great character of the man who owes Bobby Singer.
The moment in the new car! Priceless - so much like the old episodes! Dean singing in the car just made me smile after so many bad episodes...
Leviathans are introduced like mafia..and on the top of the iceberg stands the man who doesn't care for demons. Dick Roman. See Crowley powerless (despite the basket with muffins :)) was just satisfying moment.
(Againg the Amy-thing problem - not interested in it, but because of the great plot of this episode, I don't care!)
The Conjuring (2013)
James Wan meets Supernatural
I was expecting a lot of tension in this horror movie and I was aware of the fact, that the movie is based on classical horror movies. That's fine. But in the end I find it "the Supernatural little movie brother".
I respect the work with camera, I admired the stylization of 70's and loved the actors. There was also a very well done job with the sound and music. The atmosphere is very "drama-like", meaning exposition – collision – crisis – peripeteia – catastrophe and it was good delivered. But! Do we really need a movie that is inspired by the classics, but gives nothing new? That's what bothers me. Because if I wanted to see something that honors the classics, I would choose American Horror Story or Supernatural. As far as I'm concerned, I see a lot of parallels between this movie and SPN - family importance, hunters and their "family business", even the cars! The police officer's driving the Mustang! Warrens had their Chevrolet! Unlike this movie you can find the surplus value in SPN, e.g. Death x God and the other stuff as well...In this movie everything is clear, and the happy ending just made me laugh...
The craftsmanship is well done, but the unoriginality, no presence of surplus value made me vote for 6.
