A movie that explores Indian Mythology and does justice
9 September 2022
The immediate thought that came to my mind, after watching this movie, was that there is no much untapped potential waiting when it comes to Indian Mythology. So much waiting to be explored.

The team has done an excellent job in most of the departments.

Pluses 1. Full marks to team for the grand vision and the effort. It's not easy to make a film of this scale.

2. Acting wise everyone excels. What more can you ask for when you have Ranbeer, Alia and Amitabh Bacchan.

3. Great VFX. Great locations 4. Great music and background score.

Minuses Not much but some sequences could have been trimmed towards the end.

All in all a must watch in theatres. Ranbeer and Alia you guys just light up the screen. Waiting for the sequel.

A movie that will inspire generations to come
10 February 2019
I am glad that a movie has been made on Rani Lakshmibai - whose stories of bravery and valor we have heard growing up.

And I am thankful to Kangana for doing complete justice to her. It's an amazing movie and will continue to inspire the generations to come. The second half of the movie is especially a delight to watch.

Amazing direction and amazing acting by the entire cast.

A Blockbuster
29 December 2018
Simmba is a blockbuster. It reminds me of the movies we have grown up watching. Remember movies starring Akhshay Kumar, Ajay Devgan, Sunny Deol. Rohit Shetty is no doubt the king of Masala movies. Ranveer Singh rocks every scene. He fits so well in this role that you demand more of him. Be it action or comedy he makes it clear that he is here to stay. The movie discusses one of the pressing issues we face and how it haunts us every day. The issue of Rape. I will highly recommend watching this one.

A must watch to get a glimpse of the way Security Forces work
1 April 2017
Some movies make me feel Proud. Proud to know that we have people who work selflessly to safeguard the Country. Always ready to do what it takes. Salute to them.

Thanks to movies like Baby and Naam Shabana we get to catch a glimpse of such mysterious world. A world which is not talked about. Such movies are important to inspire Youths.

Naam Shabana does a great job in presenting facts in a crisp Bollywood manner. It's an edge of the seat thriller which makes for a great watch.

Credit goes to the entire team. Each character has it's own importance and hats off to the star cast. With Manoj Bajpayee, Anupam Kher giving credible performances as always Taapsee fits the lead role perfectly. She is the hero and to support her we have Akshay Kumar who is simply awesome.

Go watch it, I have given you enough reasons.

I left the Movie in 20 minutes
25 December 2015
This is the first time I left a Rohit Shetty movie in 15mins. So ideally I shouldn't review this movie. But still wanted to share my thoughts for people who are eager to watch this one.

I had some hesitation after watching the trailers. I am a Rohit Shetty Movie fan and especially the Golmal series. But this one is terrible.

From the very start it's just Noise. No Logic not Story.

Just goes to show the audience is taken for Granted and by just having some big Stars mean the film will work.

Even Johny Lever and other Rohit Shetty movie regulars couldn't save from the boredom.

Tamasha (2015)

A movie about discovering the real Self
28 November 2015
Watching Tamasha for me was like a Soulful journey, which took me back into the painful years in School and College where I was not quite myself.

I am pretty sure most of us are living in this world pretending to be someone else, and people who come to remind us of that are either laughed upon or go unnoticed. Tamasha is a movie about the people living a Robotic life who intend to do something more Purposeful life but lack the support and confidence to do that.

Every Imtiaz Ali Movie explores some human aspect. Be it the character played by Alia Bhatt in Highway dying to get freedom from the chains of high society or the next door girl played by Kareena in Jab We Met, who speaks her heart.

The Movie is remarkable in all aspects. Be it Direction, Script, Music, Acting just name it. You will be taken in a different world and each scene is like a Portrait.

Ranbeer Kapoor and Deepika display an awesome Chemistry and mesmerize you with there performances.

I will highly recommend this one, not to be missed.

Full on Entertainer
26 September 2015
Let me start by saying this movie is a complete Paisa Vasool. After a long time we get a good Comedy full of laughter. These days the only movies we get are full of emotional sagas, except for a Tanu Weds Manu once in a while maybe.

Abbas Mustan are known for their thrillers and comedies alike. Be it Khiladi, Baazigar or a 36 China Town, they haven't disappointed.

With this movie they once again prove there metal for a crisp and fun entertainer. Kapil rocks. He reminds me of Govinda and for sure will go a long way if he does what suits him best which is Comedy. He delivers a great performance.

Other actors including Arbaaz Khan and Supriya Pathak are great. The actresses also do a decent job.

All in all I loved this movie and am sure you wont be disappointed.

All Is Well (2015)

A light hearted Family Drama
21 August 2015
All is Well is a light hearted movie. Its a good effort which could have been made better.

It doesn't have the melodrama which we can see in recent movies like Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Brothers, where people cry for no reason just to catch attention.

The comedy sequences in the movie are really funny. The movie tries to address the problems and conflicts within the families.

Acting wise all the characters do a decent job. Music is not that good but thankfully there aren't too many songs. Sonakshi Sinha sizzles in her guest appearance.

Its a one time watch.

A movie for the Indian Youth
5 May 2015
Gabbar is a movie which tells us what strong Law can do to stop Corruption practices which prevails in India today.

It's a movie which touches and reminds us the power that each one of us has to stop the wrong in the society.

At one point Gabbar, played by Akshay Kumar, talks about Swami Vivekanada's message - the power of youth and how it can be tapped.

The second half is engaging and the performances are commendable.

In the end Gabbar belongs to Akshay Kumar. His intention and honesty of portraying the character of Gabbar.

Wtach this movie to get inspired and to do your bit to make our Country a better place.

Mary Kom (2014)
10/10
Most inspirational movie in recent times
17 September 2014
This is a movie which needs to be seen. Not just for great cinema but for understanding what it takes to be a World Champion when you are competing from a small town in India.

Mary Kom is a great movie with amazing performances especially by its leading lady Priyanka Chopra. Hats off to her and for the director of this movie for helping us know this legend. The movie is very crisp and reminds me of Chak De and Bhag Milkha Bhag.

2014 has been a great year in Indian Cinema with actresses being the Superstars. Be it Mardaani, Highway, Queen or Mary Kom.

Watch this movie for it will inspire you and also make you think on the plight of our Sportsmen who survive on a Chai and Banana and still bring us Gold.

Mardaani (2014)

Mardaani deserves a watch
24 August 2014
The year 2014 has been great for Indian Cinema. Personally i feel this year has seen women oriented movies in which the leading ladies have delivered fabulous performances. From "Highway", "Queen" and "Dedh Ishqiya" to Mardaani our actresses have left the so called superstar actors behind. And I wish this trend continues.

Mardaani is yet another feather in cap for Rani Mukherjee and Pradeep Sarkar. This is a movie which makes you think and wonder what kind of society we live in. It acquaints us with some hard to digest truth, which prevails in our so called "Modern" societies. Especially when it comes to girls. There is so much mess which needs some bold initiatives and tougher laws.

I won't discuss the story here but this movie is not just about performances but about the change our society needs. Why we all should get together to wipe out the menace of child and women trafficking.

The reason I have not gone with 10 / 10 for this movie is because I feel this movie could have done better by discussing some solutions for this problem.

But watch it for a crisp script and power packed performances.

Nice Entertainer
5 July 2014
I went to watch this movie today and I enjoyed it. Its a light hearted movie which is a good diversion from the regular love stories which are manufactured every other week.

The movie revolves around how the a middle class girl is trying to make a mark for her and break out of the stereo mindset which surrounds the general public.

The star cast is great especially the lead actors. Its always good to watch Vidya Balan perform on big screen. She never disappoints.

The music is also nice with just a couple of nice songs.

I would recommend this movie which has elements to make you laugh and cry.

A fabulous movie
22 February 2014
Let me start by saying that this movie has everything right about it. From direction and cinematography to performances and music. The locations are breath taking.

Imtiaz Ali yet again delivers a "hat ke" love story. Its not exactly a love story but a tale of two people who want to get free and experience life. Both the characters have there own painful pasts and when they come together they let it all go and try to start it all over again.

Their journey is the theme of this movie. Alaya Bhatt and Randeep Hooda deliver power packed performances with a great supporting cast.

The movie forces us to think about the society we live in and how people struggle to lead a normal life. Be it a rich family or a poor villager. They have there own challenges.

I won't go more into the story line as that is something to be experienced.

This movie comes with a message and we are left to think what freedom and liberation means.

I will strongly recommend this one.

Its a nice watch especially because of Deepika and fabulous locations
11 August 2013
Frankly I was a bit hesitant initially when the reviews started coming in. After all I also have expectations, like almost everyone, from a Rohit Shetty movie.

But trust me its worth it. Not great like Golmaal but its much better than most of the recent ones.

Highlight of the movie are Deepika's performance, locations (South India is amazing) and also the songs.

And no double meaning and cheap stuff. Go with your family.

There are some very nice moments in the movie which will leave memories. Also some really good comic scenes.

All in all I will suggest go and watch this one and see for yourself.
